One major difference is that in Schaub's career there has never really been a time when he hasn't done this even when he has had all of weapons and solidified chemistry. Joe may have thrown his fair share of picks this  but to fair he also didn't know who he'd be throwing to from week to week.

The first half, Schaub looked very good, making good decisions and moving the ball. The big play to Chris Givens is the one that stands out in particular in my mind. Also, both offensive TDs were off a pass, one to Buck Allen and then another to Kamar Aiken in the second half. I'd say, Schaub has what it takes to put points on the board and if he can replicate H1 in the other games, he'll got what it takes to be a starter in the NFL. The pick six and another interception are disappointing and he has a rep, on the other hand, 2 picks aren't something Flacco wouldn't do on occasion either. He make an immediate comeback with a touchdown drive, which is important, because he didn't crumble after a fail. Let's cut him some slack and stand behind him. It's obvious that the trust from the organization and teammates helped him do the good things.

Not like this guy does... Don't even go there.  Flacco is nowhere near that.  Schaub was released by the Texans because of his consistent INT's in EVERY GAME.  He leads the league in consecutive games with an Interception...  Most in NFL History.  They talked about that just last night.  He threw them in preseason.  He's thrown them in regular games.  He doesn't see the field.  He just throws. He has no clue where the defenders are.  It's pretty apparent to see.

. Schaub was a lot better then what I expected to see last night. I got a new hope for the Ravens, the Browns may not be a good team but with all of our best players injured we still beat an NFL team. Our playoff chances may be over, but lets continue to win games against our rivals. BEAT STEELERS and BEAT BENGALS!

had a feeling you would try to defend his play and spin the truth just because we won. Reality is he was throwing nothing but duck farts. Even the two tds were a result of YAC and missed tackles. without the special teams schaub is pretty much the direct reason we would've lost that game. Can't never say that shout joe, he made poor decisions at times but he always came back and put us in the position to win. Schaubs confidence is shot, and the notion that we are better off with him than joe is laughable.

Matt looked a lot like Joe last night...overthrew Boyle open across the middle and underthrew the deep ball to Givens with 5 yards of separation from the defender. Luckly, the defender played Givens and not the ball. 2 int's on par with Joe for the year. Came away with the win and that is all that matters!

Schaub has this 3-step drop back and fires.  Sometimes it looks like he doesn't take time to look at the field.  He gets rid of it so fast, that he has no clue where defenders are.  This year, they have tried to get Joe to release faster.  He's had to because for protection reasons.  When he takes the time to make the throws, Joe doesn't throw the INT's.  It's when he is pushing it, or when he is forced to throw.

Can Schaub do what Earl Morrall did for the Baltimore Colts? 9-7 might get into the playoffs. Too bad the Browns are not worth considering as a worthy opponent. We learned very little that we didn't already know about special teams.

I guess that is why Brady is so successful, he gets rid of the ball so fast that he has no clue where the defenders are. That makes no sense. INT's happen to the best QB's and I was not dissing Joe. Just commenting on how Matt's performance was on par for the Raven's QB this year. Don't take it as a personal affont to Joe. Considering the patchwork O-Line and the pressure coming from the Browns I would have expected more INT's based on your assessment.

No, Brady has a better line that can protect him... and when he doesn't he ends up on his butt too.  Please see Sunday night.  Oh and Brady's a lot better at it than Schaub.

I don't think the whole "Brady has a better line" argument works this season. His line hasn't been very good and has generally had more backups playing on it than we have all year long.

Last night was largely the exception. If you've got 3-4 healthy starters on your Oline, you're pretty much as healthy as possible there.

Joe was throwing INTs at less than half the rate per pass attempt as Schaub did last night.  Also, both of Schaub's were with no pressure and were entirely the fault of an inaccurate throw or bad decision (or both).  On the pick 6 he had 3.5 seconds of a clean pocket and was able to fully step into his throw, and still throws an awful interception.  On the second he steps into that throw as well, but totally misreads the defense and throws to a receiver who isn't open.

Most of Flacco's lately weren't that bad.  His 2 against the Jags were unlucky and partially to blame on the receivers (first one, bounces off Aiken multiple times, then another defender, before winding up in the hands of the guy who intercepted it; second one Givens doesn't even play the ball and just lets the defender have it... this pass was the mirror image of the one Schaub threw to Givens, only Givens learned his lesson from the one he let get picked off and this time he actually slowed up, played the ball, and caught it).  Joe's 2 against the Rams were because he had a pass rusher coming in freely and he tried to throw the ball over their heads while dropping back to avoid the pass rush (on both plays).  A couple of bad throws, for sure, but at least he had pressure as an excuse.  Schaub is just plain inaccurate with no external influence required to make him make a mistake.

It was a good win, but Schaub is still inconsistent as ever he was saved by Urban blocking the field goal. He will cause the Ravens to lose a game or two down the stretch. If the run game is not going we are in trouble. The Ravens still need to find a competent starter before next season in case Flacco is not ready.

Matt Schaub is not Earl Morrall. He has a fast release but lacks the accuracy. Morrall stepped in for Unitas and the fans didn't blink. I don't have that kind of confidence in Schaub. I watched Morrall. He was point on and threw one beautiful fast ball spiral.

Luckily, we were playing the Browns for Matt's debut. We were playing with basically either rookies or back-ups on offense. Also, don't forget -- we lost to the Browns in October, at home, with Flacco under center. The NFL is so unpredictable. But what a spectacular finish!!

It's a whole new Ravens offense now. I was proud of Schaub for not letting the pressure get to him after the pick-6, and stepping up to make some plays to get it back.

Matt and the Ravens have an opportunity to do something amazing, by winning out, and seeing where the chips fall. If any team could do it, the Ravens can! I remember the first time we won the SB with a team that couldn't score a touchdown for six straight games. Besides, why would this season be any different? The Ravens always come on strong at the end, and become a nightmare for other teams making the playoffs.

Go Ravens!!
