Titans Fans Calling Ed Reed Dirty

75 posts in this topic

I honestly doubt Ed Reed would do something like that. He may have played to when the whistle blew and with a half- back like that if they aren't knees on the ground or if your not sure you don't stop tackling them. Especially when you the safety have moved up to make the tackle.
It seems to me that alot of titans fans are trying to call the ravens out on being dirty players. Specifically on the play where Chris Johnson was being gang tackled by many ravens. Now how can Titans fans (and game time announcers) say that was a dirty play by the Ravens when we were obviously trying to stop him from getting forward progress and a first down...oh and if my memory is any good..

DIDN"T YOUR PRECIOUS ALBERT HAYNESWORTH STOMP ON SOMEONES FACE WITH HIS CLEATS ON!!

So to all the titans fans who say the ravens are a dirty team i have two words for them

Quiet Time
How soon people forget after a great season.

Everytime I think of that, I think of a Happy Gilmore quote. Where Sandler says: "During high school, I played junior hockey and still hold two league records.....I was the only guy to ever take off his skate and try to stab somebody."

i know...people forget sooooo fast but haynesworth really couldve crushed his skull and killed that guy, he weighs over 300 pounds, thats alot of force coming down on someones head

but no, the ravens are the ones that have dirty players...right?

It's amusing that people want to say that the Reed's hit on C. Johnson was dirty... apparently these people haven't ever watched a Ravens game prior to, uh, now. If you have the ball, you're going to get hit. If the play is live and the ballcarrier is still fighting for yardage, it's fundamental football to make sure he cannot reach for that first down.

To play devil's advocate, if the script was flipped and it was McGahee fighting for the yardage and he got jacked up, we'd be up in arms -- but not like Titans nation.

I'll tell you what. I think the Titans are going to hate us more than any team in the league. Well besides Indy. That's twice in the playoffs we've come away with a win. We take their players (not always against their will). Their hate for us is growing.

My ranking of team's fans that hate us the most:
1) Steelers
2) Browns
3) Titans
4) Bengals
I think Titans fans are already above the Browns fans. I'd even argue that they may even be above the Steelers in terms of hatred for us.

I seriously doubt it. McGahee had his eyes gauged by the Browns and Flacco was hit by Haynesworth well after the whistle in week 5, and it didnt draw a flag, and none of us here were complaining about it costing us a game. Besides thats not even the play Johnson got hurt on. He went to the sideline under his own power and never came back. He's soft. I said it earlier if a 260 pound LeRon McClain can play on a bad ankle so can Chris Johnson. Either he's soft or Jeff Fisher was being arrogant. And decided to just rest him for next week because he figured the Titans would be able to beat us without him.

No doubt the Titans are soft - I think they'd rather showboat and stomp on towels than man up and play some times.

A short list of the Ravens that were out of the game at one point or another is a who's who of our team: Rolle, Leonhard, Suggs, McClain, Anderson... and we kept on plugging.

That's the difference between the two teams - toughness. Heart. Character.

I see a BUNCH OF SORE LOSERS IS ALL. If they won they wouldnt even have mentioned Ed Reed... not our FAULT he is the BEST SAFETY IN THE NFL !!. They would take him in a minute if they could have a player as good as him on their defense!.

Sour grapes, plain and simple.... I don't see them talking about their THREE turnovers inside OUR 20 yard line being why they were defeated. <_<

if thats what they want to believe, the have at it hoss, this is Football, and if they say it then by george ot happened but it still doesnt change the end result, which quite frankly is the same result as earlier in the year 13-10, just the winning and losing teams are switched.

and yea they can talk all they want but you know what?

Pay Back's a Bi*ch isnt it? haha j/k j/k
Whatever they are just mad because their running back is soft. If 260 pounds of LeRon McClain can come back and play on a sprained ankle, so could Chris Johnson. He just didnt want to.
Yeah I mean McClain is soooo good, his twelve rushes for twelve yards were INCREDIBLE. I certainly wish Chris Johnson was like McClain.

<name calling>
Chris Johnson got hurt, injuries dont just go away in an hour. He got it re-taped and just couldn't go, and instead of bashing him about it you should thank him, because that is a huge part of the reason the Titans lost. He was 11 for 72 in a quarter and a half, who knows what he would've done in the second half. CJ>McClain.

I guess you need to learn to read. Never did I say McClain was better then CJ. I said CJ was soft for not trying to play through his injury. If a guy 260 pounds can play on a bad ankle so can the Titans soft running back. McClain went back out there and PLAYED through his injury. He didnt have a good game but he refused to give up despite him being hurt. Bet you wish Chris Johnson would have atleast attempted to give it a go.

No I wish that Alge Crumpler and LenWhale White can hold onto the dang football, and that our "pro-bowl" kicker could make a freakin 50 yarder with the wind.

I have no doubt at all that CJ would have been back if he could've returned. Obviously his injury was too severe for him to have done so.
And yes, I agree that is a big reason Tennessee couldn't get the job done.

But here's the thing. What about OUR injuries? If we had a healthy Kelly Gregg, Dawan Landry and Chris McAlister playing yesterday, would CJ have been nearly as effective in the first place? What if Suggs didn't get taken out early? That is some big time talent that we didn't have on the field. If we had them the entire game, who's to say that Tennessee's offense would have done anything at all? I don't think anyone can use injuries as an excuse if they lose to us, because injuries have devastated us as much if not more so than any other team in the league.

And besides all that, it takes 11 guys on each side to win. It's not all about CJ.

They are saying that the play CJ was hurt on had ed reed trying to rip his head off or something. They are prolly just angry and trying to place their anger somewhere. I didn't think it was a dirty play. I just think that ed was trying to stop CJ from getting the first down. I don't think he would intentionally try to hurt anyone.

Thoughts?
It wasn't like Ed took a Cheap shot at him...

I dont think that he was intentionally trying to hurt anyone but it was dirty... it look like he was going to seriously snap his spine in half. It depends on your definition of dirty.... I think it can still be dirty even

if it wasnt intentional.

Push him over, he's fried. lol
Not to mention the random twitching on the sidelines.

On the Reed thing, the whistle wasn't blown, CJ wasn't hurt at the end of that play. CJ himself isn't even complaining about the play! Why are the fans then?
