Seahawks @ Ravens Flexed out of SNF

29 posts in this topic

I'm surprised it took this long (though I guess from the bigwigs' perspective it made sense to wait with how the Texans have come on lately). No-one wants to waste a primetime slot on a less-lethal-than-expected Seahawks side taking on the fearsome Matt Schaub-led Ravens.

I'm just disappointed they can't flex MNF games as well. Maybe they could sell our game with the Browns to Comedy Central?

'Course they had to flex a p*ts game into prime time. ugh

It really was the only game they could flex into SNF. Steelers vs Bengals, sure but by week 14 they could have the AFC North wrapped up making it meaningless. Falcons @ Panthers could have worked if the Falcons didn't falter and drop off the face of the playoff race. Otherwise, they had no other choice except keeping our game.

Expected but let's be honest, Ravens/Seahawks will probably be more competitive.

So would Tennessee v Jacksonville but there's no way they get flexed to Sunday night. :P

Pats should win that one easily but our game deserves to be flexed. Guess that will be a boring week

Yeah it sucks, but can't blame anyone other than ourselves because of this one. Pats are cruising as usual *sigh*, and Texans are hustlin' it out as well, despite their fair share of misfortunes as well. NFL primetimes the games that audiences want to see the most, and I don't many people outside of Baltimore and Seattle want to see our game at this point.

Also, there is no objective reason for anyone to complain about us not getting enough national attention. This season we got it all and we drop a fart bomb of a season. I know it's not our fault as well, you can't prevent injuries from happening and refs have screwed us big time. I'm just saying we haven't exactly given primetime worthy performances when we've gotten the chance.

Yeah I am fine with that.

I just hope Ravens Steelers remains SNF.

No reason at all why it should stay..

Ravens have zero recognizable players on the roster right now unless SNF wants Matt schaub all over their promo

Other than the bitter rivalry and the tendency to be a high energy hard hitting slug fest.

I'm not sure if this is still within the "flex rules" or not, but I believe in the past the networks that originally had those games (Fox or CBS) have the ability to "protect" one game a week from being flexed. Obviously, it doesn't do Fox/CBS a lot of good to have their marquee game of the week completely flexed off their network and onto a rival network (NBC).

So its likely that the two games you listed were probably better options, but were likely protected by CBS/Fox from being flexed.

I think Week 17 is the only week where the NFL can essentially flex any game they want without consultation with the networks.

Rivalries lose their luster outside of the local markets when both teams aren't competitive.

Plenty of other games that will likely jump us for that spot. Packers/Cardinals play that week, as do Giants/Vikings and Jets/Patriots.

I don't expect to be playing another primetime game this season after tonight.

Because the Pats destroy the Texans, although with Schaub we could easily get blown out worse.

I'm glad. Frankly, I hate night home games in December.

The players will get to relax at a reasonable hour, they are not disappointed by the switch.

If recent indications are to uphold, they will likely be relaxing between the hours of about 12pm to 5pm on that day.

This makes me angry, not at the nfl for stripping the primetime games( ravens do deserve it),but we finally national attention this season and guess what we are in one of the worst seasons in franchise history.

I guess the NFL didn't get the word. Matt Schaub did great in practice this week. In fact we always do great in practice. Everybody looks great all the time.
