[News] Matt Schaub Has 'Really Good' Week Of Practice

49 posts in this topic

I never get excited about how guys look in practice anymore after we were told during training camp how great all the WR's looked and it could be the deepest wide receiver corps the Ravens ever had. Traning Camp and REAL games.....Two completely different animals.

I'm with you, Jfravens. We aren't out of it till were mathematically out of it. And if we do get into the playoffs, who knows how far we could go. Never give up, never surrender!

This should be everyone's attitude.

Well folks, welcome to training camp 2016. We actually will have a nice 10 game preseason to really look at guys and see who can produce and who can't. I don't want to give away my blog today, but certain radio personalities, all the way back to preseason, were bashing preseason play and here recently bashing the Ravens saying that there is no sense to watch the games and they should just lose to get the best draft pick. I don't view preseason nor these games as throw away and I enjoy watching whether or not we are watching guys who may never play a real down or whether we are watching extended preseason like we are now now, getting an idea of who we have who is good and who is not is fun to watch. We also have weeks and weeks of running through young players to give them a shot and see if we can find a diamond in the rough. I am sorry, but I love football, I don't just love football when we are winning and every game is for a playoff spot. Yes that is nice, but playing for the sake of playing and watching for the sheer enjoyment of the game is good enough for me. Obviously, for some big money radio, talk show and print personalities who only watch when the Ravens are winning, they are just fair weather fans and they don't get national attention when we aren't in the hunt.  It is all about them and not the team.  We call that a fair weather fan and that is the true loser where I come from, not these young players.

Don't ever give up. I really believe we can still make the playoffs, maybe more.

Given the train wreck that is the AFC WC chase ... I understand the sentiment. Honestly, I just want to see us play well, find some positions that we may be able to solidify going forward and get some confidence and respect back.

It is funny though, the comments from the national media were that, it was a good thing that the refs botched the Jags vs. Ravens game, costing us a win, since it was basically a meaningless game. Well, give us that win and any one others from the list of games we had a solid chance in winning and we're squarely in the list of those "in the hunt". Also - ask those in Indy and Houston if they think handing the Jags a free win was meaningless.

Don't know why, but for some reason my gut is telling me that this team plays really well down the stretch and has a chance to finish .500. Not sure there's much consolation in that for the fans, as we almost certainly can't make the playoffs even if we managed to win out, and every win from here on out just hurts us in draft position. But my number 1 favorite thing in football is watching the Ravens win games!

I am just waiting for Schaub to have a couple good games and have us get a couple wins and then listen to those who will claim that we have a quarterback controversy.

Good week of practice - Sounds very familiar this season. Unfortunately, I can't rely on the Ravens media hype machine or coaches on how this team is anymore. Let's just see what happens.

Practice? We're talking about Practice

Yep Many times that does not translate to game time and bad practices does not mean you'll play bad either.

I hope Schaub turns in a strong performance for his confidence and so that we can be competitive tonight!

I also hope the "good week of practice" wasn't said by the same media person(s) reporting all the "highlight reel catches" from our WRs last summer! OY VEY!

Considering the fact that Schaub hasn't put any mileage on his arm this year, I'm hoping he can come out strong.

We'll see!!

his arm has never been an issue: his decision making is.

I hope this young OL with Yanda's leadership can have a great game.  :football:  Keep Schaub upright and blow some holes for the running game.....

The Super Bowl in Cleveland. Every year this is the Browns must win game. The team that moved vs the team that doesn't go anywhere and is as a perennial loser. Johnny Football. Tim Couch. On and on..

Hahahahaha!

They never gave us a chance to win a superbowl with joe flacco, They laughed at Ray Lewis and Ed reed for thinking they could still win another Superbowl... Well Guess joke's on you. With that attitude you'll never achieve the true meaning of greatness.
