Smith wasnt the only one who did bad, all around i saw mistakes on offense and defense. way too many penalties as well. I wouldve liked to see more of Olson but Boller had extended play into the 3rd qtr so that didnt hapepn. Troy didnt help even with a full quarter behind him though.

Give Troy Smith chance, the dude was a system quaterback who has all kinds of talent. If groomed the right way he could be your starter in afew years, if you guys jump on him now he may never get that chance.

That being said I hope that was a one time thing from Willis with his running, our offense looked so good against the eagles and today it was all stover doing the work.

Troy did really well actually.....AND he would've had a Touchdown if the guy would have caught it...... he threw it perfectly, righ to him and it hit his hands and he dropped it, Troy's Performance against the Giants was one of the few GOOD performances i saw that night.....if you watch Billick's interview on the Media Player afte the game, he said that Troy did very well, for the position he was put into...he was happy with what Troy did and Troy himself said he did fairly well, but he said that he does like to get caught up in all the hype and what not, he likes living in the moment, when it happens (referring to playing in the game)...McNair also said in his post game interview that Smith did pretty well for the time he was in, he was happy for Troy and said that he often helps Troy out with routes and timing and what not, even Boller helps him out...which all of this cooperation, is making an postive impact in his development, as a good QB in the future for us as a team and like one of the Announceer's calling the game said when Troy was standing in the Pocket uner pressure and Guys were jumping up in his face and Troy Calmly, and smoothly Threw the ball to his target without budging...the Announcer said that "thats a skill that no one can teach, thats a Skill that only a Player who TRULY belongs in the NFL has"

with time, he will be a great QB for us

The commentator was John Madden, and i don't really take him seriously haha. youre right though troy did alright against the giants. you cant say we were guarunteed a td though had Ross caught that pass because though it was a nice drive theres always that uncertainty factor of what could happen next. we couldve ended up with another field goal, who knows? i wasnt bashing smith so much as saying that Olson had about 5-6 minutes to Smith's 15. Olson had 2 three-and-outs i know but i wish he wouldve had the chance to start the 3rd qtr rather be sub'd in after boller played out. it was even how the game was meant to be organized, 4 QBs, 1 for each quarter.

is it wrong to fight for the underdog? it seems everybodys got Troy Smith locked in their minds. While he does have potential, so does Olson, and I think everyones overlooking that possibility. therefore, im offering a devils advocate perspective. we all said that boller was the Qb of the future, and he became mediocre. from what ive seen, troy smith has potential, but wether he can fully tap into it remains in question to me. olson has had a year+ experience on the practice squad and in nfl europa and in light of the fact that this season is quite possibly the one, i feel we should have the best QB available as our 3rd string. whoever doesnt get the spot will probably remain on the practice squad anyway, so if Olson wins out, we have a whole extra year to develop smith under our wings.

in any case, i believe newsome and billick will make the best decision for the team. where would the ravens be without them? certainly nowhere near where we are right now.
