We're the Ravens. We have awful coaches. That's how I feel about this...

Ozzie finds the talent. It is the coaches job to assemble their best roster. Maybe they aren't properly gauging the talent the Ozzie brings them?

It's not like Houston evaluated him better and gave him a shot by choice... He was forced into action because of injuries much like Rashan Melvin was for us last year.

Bet he doesn't continue to get reps once they're healthy.

Who cares about depth chart... All I'm saying in this thread is that the guy got his chance to play and he showed up and played really well for a young guy like himself. I just hate when players never get a chance or aren't put in a position to succeed.

I'm not taking anything away from James, he was a feature attraction in "Hard Knocks" for his work ethic and overall character, but what limited playing time he has seen does not validate the assumption that our Brass "missed out" on him. Rashann Melvin played well early on last season and got TORCHED in the divisional game. Any way you split it, this pourus secondary needs a lot more than Charles James to be saved, starting with a new safety.

Brooks...but I bet the coaches won't give him a chance even with our season officially over.

I don’t know who our secondary coach is, but it is clear he is clueless and terrible at evaluating or coaching. Period. He needs to be gone with several other position coaches and coordinators next year. The quality of coaching positions has deteriorated steadily with Harbaugh not willing to fire anybody due to a misplaced notion of loyalty. That is all I have to say.

Well, chances aren't given, unless there's an injury, and they have to be earned. Guess what- James is still sixth on the depth chart and didn't earn his time and lost it due to starters returning from injury

The guy wasn't even drafted and wasn't on the team in pre-season.  I don't see how you see that about a guy who was on the team a total of six days.

Because he's now the sixth string corner and playing due to injuries. He clearly earned his chance and showed he truly belongs on the team. How did the coaching staff botch this so badly when James was on the PS for the Texans to begin the year?

Just like Charles James, got a chance and proved that he can play well so far.

I completely missed this somehow, but he didn't prove anything in one game. It's going to take more than one game for him to unseat Kareem Jackson, Jonathan Joseph, Kevin Johnson, and A.J. Bouye to prove he deserves any meaningful snaps.
