[News] What The Browns Are Saying About The Ravens

21 posts in this topic

I told a friend 2 years ago that Cleveland is quarterback-killer-country and that Manziel or whoever wouldn't work out up there. Proof is in the pudding.

They need to put a logo on their helmet, otherwise they look like a team of minimalists and their record reflects that too. They should put a dog on helmet or something (but not the one thing that's been joked about of course ;)

They have this thing called dawg pound...it's a cute thing...so why not splurge and make a logo of bulldog on helmet ...jazz it up a little, it's a step in right direct IMO. Create more of an identity to build upon. Even tho that's just an artistic change, it can focus attention around a theme...can be of practical use for building momentum purposes. That's how advertising works.

Say what you want. The Browns have been picking at the top of the draft for a long time. They have a very solid defense and playmakers in the waiting on offense. I cant understand why they can not draft a decent QB but when they do look out.

I don't see that. Playmakers on offense? Maybe Duke Johnson but he's not an every down back. Dwayne Bowe - not. Josh Gordon, Gary Barnidge & Travis Benjamin are all free agents. Solid defense? They rank 30th out of 32 including 32 in run defense. They basically have Joe Haden and maybe Danny Shelton. 1st round picks Mingo, Manziel & Gilbert are busts in every sense of the word. 1st round picks Trent Richardson, Brandon Weedon & Phil Taylor are no longer with the team. Only 6 players out of the 34 players drafted in the last 4 drafts are starters on the team.

It's one of the saddest run franchises in the NFL, but that's not surprising when the owner is a crook.

I hope we have a break out game and score every quarter never behind and always producing.  I would like to see takeaways for once.   I hope West damages Pettine and then his old team.

I was at the game at M & T and once again, unfortunately; its going to be tight and requiring cases of rolaids for all the fans.

Trestman and Peas!! Time to replace both of these failures once the season is over. The team needs new ideas and direction in both areas. Never did figure why we went with Trestman and still can't. Cameron was even better to a degree.

Why on earth do you want Trestman gone?We have dog poo at WR and all kinds of injuries on the o-line yet at the time of this comment we're a top ten offense.

Even before all the injuries when we were healthy on the o-line this year and had a healthy Forsett, we took a giant leap backwards this year in the run game. I know tems do not respect our receiving corp, but we are not even close to being the offense we were last year. I don't think Trestman is horrible, but I think we could do better at OC.

When were we healthy on the o-line? Haven't we been rotating players all year?

IMHO, even when our starters were healthy. Monroe, K.O., Zuttah, and Wagner......they just were not playing as well. I know there are a lot of arguments that some will make, for example:

* Defenses don't respect our passing game

* most games we had only had 4 of 5 first string guys playing

I just feel that we took too much of a giant step back to blame it all on our players. I think it is unfair to them. I think coaching plays a huge part in this drop-off. For example: Play calling (too predictable) IMHO, Kubiak brought more to the table than Trestman has brought. I am not saying that I hate Trestman, because I really like the way he is finally getting the most out of our TE's. That unit has really come into it's own the past few weeks and I will give him credit for that. Again, overall - Judging him on how our offense has performed since week one and his play calling throughout the entire season (Which has left me scratching my head at times), I just think there are better options at OC out there. Do I think we will replace Trestman when the season ends, no I don't. Do I think the Ravens should interview other OC's when the season ends, yes I do. IMHO, we could find a better one. I agree injuries have hurt us this year, but IMHO, some of our woes go a lot deeper than that. I agree with DENNYK when he eluded to needing new ideas and direction on both Offense and Defense, however I don't agree that Cam was better than Trestman in any area :)

To all those fans out there advocating replacing (fill in the blank) I ask, who do you suggest we replace (blank) with. Before you replace someone you have to be sure what you have waiting is better.

I could care less what the Browns have to say about us. They just want to honk their own horn. Hopefully with all our injuries we can still make a game of it. I can dream can't I! I love my Ravens win or lose.
