RB situation

20 posts in this topic

As unfortunate as the Forsett injury was, and with Joe being out for the year as well, I have to say, the runningback position has me intrigued the most going forward. Buck Allen has the chance to prove that he is capable of being a workhorse that can catch out of the backfield in this league, Terrance West, who has always had the physical tools, but immaturity issues, has a chance to show the coaches what it means to really buy in to your hometown team, and put it all together. So my question is, If somehow, Allen and West tear it up the rest of the season, what happens to our then crowded running back situation? LT has shown flashes of being a bruising change of pace from Forsett and will be coming off of IR as well. This is all irrelevant until we see what Buck and West accomplish with the opportunity that has presented itself.

I think that west, mostert, and LT will just have to duke it out for that final 3rd spot next year. And yes how the rest of this season goes will play a big role. Pretty sure forsett and Allen are sure things. We could decide to keep 4 but I doubt it, esp If we decide to take 4 tight ends- which is unlikely too. We will see how things pan out but it will be very interesting to watch and I'm excited about getting to see buck carry the load.

The one good thing Allen has in common with forsett is he is a great receiving rb. I think next year the rb situation is as follows :

Forsett

Allen

LT
Rookie

LT and Rookie fight for final spot and more than likely if the rookie was drafted he will stick.

Really hoping that West shows something the rest of the season.  He definitely has the talent.

Juice is a virtual lock.

I think Forsett and Allen will be on the team next season.  West and LT can battle for the 3rd spot.  You never know with injuries or other things but I don't see us drafting a RB unless someone like Elliot lands where we are drafting or where we end up trading to.

I think we are set at TE as well with Maxx, Crockett, Boyle and hopefully Pitta coming back.

This lets us enter the draft not having to worry about FB, RB and TE from an offensive standpoint.  Joe will be back so we can focus the draft around the OL and WR positions.  Not a bad position to be in especially given all the talent we have on the roster.

Yeah unless Elliot falls into our laps in the 2nd we won't be drafting a back. Might grab a qb late in the 6th or 7th but the areas we need to focus on are pass rusher- tackle- cb/safety- wide receiver. We will address a couple in FA and a couple in the draft.

I think forsett,Allen and tw will be the RBs next year. Never cared for LT. My opinion TW is far more skilled. I do see Allen and TW competing to be the workhorse. Both are talented runners. Allen is an elusive speed back that can work as receiving runner with deceptive power. Terrance is a 235 LB bruising runner with deceptive elusiveness and speed. Forsett is unselfish and will teach them everything about being pros.

Can we please stop with the notion that Pitta is coming back, his career in baltimore is DONE. He will never play another snap with baltimore.

Nobody would give up anything taliaferro. Terrance plays like Michael Turner. Deceptive speed and elusiveness for a power back. He and Allen are leaps and bounds the best in my opinion. Ravens draft Tunsil to complete a dominant Oline and running game is going to boom

Really happy with West and Allen. Glad they could both show up big time. Especially West, he got to show up the Browns on his hometown team. Buck has some serious potential.

Can't until we play a good defense.

If Allen and West can play the rest of the season like they did last night, don't be surprised to see Forsett on another team in 2016.  Forsett's cap savings make him expendable if those two step up to end the season

I think LT will be gone only because he cant stay healthy

Depends on what happens the next few weeks, if West and Allen look good in the Dolphins game AND the Seahawks game then LT is gone for sure.

Training camp and preseason determines all in my opinion. I think the only locks for The Ravens roster is Forsett and Buck next year other than that there's going to be serious battle for that third running back spot.

Well, let's try to remember the Browns are one of the worst, if not the worst, run defenses in the NFL. Allen was having massive holes to run through.

The upcoming games (Seattle, KC, Cinci, Pittsburgh) will be more telling

I think Allen has looked great in his sample size thus far. West is another question, however. You're right that their greatest test is on the horizon.
