[News] Late For Work 11/24: Baltimore Named As Possible Landing Spot For Colin Kaepernick

81 posts in this topic

Kaepernick not even a close fit in baltimore. John did Jim a favor by handing over Boldin. San Fran not doing us any favors by dumping Kapernick on us.

So now we add QB to a list of must haves for this next draft, along with WR, CB, and S. That should handle our first 4 rounds, although I'd hold QB for later and get more of the other 3.

It was hard reading the first paragraph about Kaepernick, because so many things off about that perspective. One, the way it's written it sounds like we WANT Kaepernick...here's news...hardly no one in Baltimore wants him to come here. So it's already almost a mute point (except for any who may want him...a minority I'm sure). But let's say for argument's sake it's a valid point. I think, that it being a valid option...WE could do much better than Kaepernick as a back up QB lol. After all, what has he been able to do in San Fran? So why acquire him? Just doesn't make sense. Hopefully we never see that happen, if it does I'd very surprised.

Let's hope Clausen is a real pickle for us if he ever has to step onto the field for anything. Here's the deal though, he's familiar with Trestman, he'll have about another half season in the system, he'll be practicing it daily. Matt Schaub will likely get another big off season deal and if he manages to look good in the remaining games he might get another crack at a starting gig. If not, he'll likely be looking at another 2-3 million deal to be a back up.

If Trestman keeps his job, perhaps Clausen keeps his as the back up to Joe. Draft a guy later in the draft who has some upside. Clausen can be the emergency guy and if Flacco goes down again you can adress the situation then. I am sure there will be another slew of veterans or cast offs from other teams we can get. Not like you need another franchise QB, nor could you afford him.

quinton coples, released by jets, very intriguing

He was released awhile ago. Seems to have lost his fire and is a flop. I know the Ravens need help, but nobody else is chomping at the bit to get him.

Put me in the category of not wanting Kaep here. I listened to enough interviews and stories to know that I am not a fan. We don't need that problem child here.

He was released yesterday and claimed off waivers by the Dolphins today. I wouldn't call him a flop but a victim of one of the deepest lines in the NFL and they don't wanna pay him 7.5 mil next year. Wouldn't call him a flop just yet ;)

check out the PFF scores for the O-line Sunday. Bottom 5 were the line. They were manhandled...is it any wonder Flacco appears rushed and frantic. Granted multiple new pieces but even Yanda got his butt kicked. If Monroe is in the game Joe doesn't get his leg rolled up. His constant inability to be on the field is alarming for the money he's paid.

Kudos to BW and CU who led the defense in a fine effort.

Coaches-good teams have discipline and the constant stupid penalties have got to stop.

Sunday's effort was uninspired and the next 6 weeks will tell us all how many holes we have going forward.

The Kapernick speculation is for the media.  Why would we want another slide on the roster. He can't give his tattos a good kiss.  So JJ said we have Clausen. We have a warm body for the last 6.  Looks like we play McCown again this weekend. I wonder if the secondary will respond and re capture a swagger rather than crossed feet and a stagger?

Don't believe Peter King with regards to any news about the Ravens- after all, he did pick the Ravens to go to the SB this year. I think half our fans new holes still needed to be addressed in the secondary and wr area

Maybe it is becuase they want a QB who is deeply committed to the terrorist look.

It sure can't be because dude can play any serious QB in the NFL. He did not begin to suck just this year. He is a product of the care and handling of Harbaugh and a #1 oline and #1 D.

Monroe is soft. I went to training camp and was surprised at how skinny his legs were and how little effort he put into every drill that was run. Its sad when on the radio when the Ravens were doing bad the pundits speculated that it would only be one or two games that Monroe comes back that he will be injured again and sure enough. There is no place on the Ravens for someone who plays like he is in a flag football league. We want players who play like Ravens, not who look for ways to sit at home and collect a paycheck

Calling Monroe soft, really.  You can say what you want about the injury and hide behind the comments section but call Monroe soft to his face.  Monroe is anything but soft.   You keep saying soft players making comments but none of those comments came from players.  You talk alot of soft for someone sitting on their butt on Sunday, using this forum to call these players soft.

Wrong John Urshel scored a +1.7 i believe  with a lot of snaps. So dont say them all. And Yanda got smoked for the reason that he cant block 2-3 guys at once. A O-line is just like a Phalanax if one piece is gone or out of position then it breaks.

if schaub is sharp and productive the rest of the season than what would happen to all the excuses being said about flacco having weak receivers, o-line, weak running game etc..etc.. going to be interesting the rest of the season

I was thinking almost the same... What if Schaub comes in and wins enough games to get another contract somewhere and reduces our up coming draft pick  :34853_brickwall:

I didn't even think of what the Flacco bashers would be saying
