[News] John Harbaugh Gives Timeline On Joe Flacco's Recovery

40 posts in this topic

I am impressed with other players like Carson who were able to come back healthy and play better and stronger than ever. Joe is a young, tough guy so I am hoping he heals quickly and will be ready for spring training. Good luck with your surgery and rehab Joe.

This season is mighty tough for everyone in the FO. No doubt working 'round the clock, just to keep up. If Eric DeCosta wanted to at one stage build a new team, he's now got that challenge, right here in Baltimore.

Ravens were very lucky Joe survived the 2013 season. Also, fans are going to see what Raven football will be like without Joe and then maybe they will appreciate him being here. Its going to be REAL STRANGE not seeing him out there that's for sure.

Did anyone else see Joe shoulder bump John coming off the field on that one drive? I saw that and it looked like "I had it with this" Not sure of what but something is going to give. It could have been an accident that's why I'm asking.

When Big Joe gets well, he'll be back and just fine in time for next season. Heck, he played on a torn ACL and MCL just to win a regular game to get the Ravens to 3 and 7......if anyone doubts his resolve to be back as quickly as physically possible....they're an idiot. GO RAVENS!

Justin's tweet is hysterical, what a sense of humor for a guy that is enduring an ugly, painful injury....... And I have no doubts about both Joe and Justin coming back and be better than ever, a sense of positive thinking is the best thing to have knowing so many players do come back and never miss a beat. Joe and Justin are very positive people to begin with, so we will ride out the storm of losing so many great players this year to injury, and enjoy that light at the end of the tunnel, training camp 2016... (And no, that light is NOT a train coming..... ) :)

Crockett Gilmore says about Flacco

"He's a tough guy."

"He's a stone-cold West Texas kind of guy, old-school cowboy."

I would second that!

Good luck with your surgery and rehab Joe...

See you in the spring.

I'd have no problem trusting Harbaugh on this " injury timetable" thing...if it wasn't for the whole Perriman situation...

lol I thought that was a cool quote too. Can't wait to see how the future pans out with Crockett and Flacco. I expect big things.

We'll have early draft picks potentially in every round next year, so this organization couldn't have a better opportunity to address major needs to get this team turned around.

This draft will be so interesting and exciting!!

Me too bro, Crockett's first year as a starter, and he's a stud. Sky's the limit for him as long as he stays in the weight room and always strives to improve his game.

I'm thinking next year is going to be the year he really takes off. It usually takes tight ends about 2 years to get acclimated. He's finally starting to learn how to use his body and he's Improving his route running.

Joe will be fine. He has a long career ahead of him. Just get him some O lineman to protect him and a coordinator to develop an offense around him.

Take your time Joe the next man up goes for your position as well! I Had Joe's back since he came to the Ravens and all my buddies will tell you but Joe has lost his touch and throwing all these INTs makes it worse and people blame everyone but the QB! Now he has a bad leg and he doesn't run so I see everyone blaming the O Line from here on out its a new day in football and you "CANNOT" just stand in the pocket you gotta move it or down you go! The Ravens need a mobile QB or its not gonna get better and the entire O Line will get scrutinized because someone wants to stand behind the wall of china! Smh! QB controversy on the horizon!

Get well Joe. Looking forward to seeing Schaub. I saw him play for a number of years for the Cavs. He's a solid performer and a smart QB. Can't believe we are where we are right now, as a team. Wake me when it's over would ya?

Get Bryn Renner. He knows the playbook and he shows some upside. As to Forsett, I hope it's as straight forward as Harbs says, that broken bones heal quickly. However, I think it will need a little extra, since the arm got somewhat displaced. However, luckily, should be with time to spare before OTAs and the like.

I can't really remember ONE serious season ending injury during the 2000 season, except maybe Herring missing the SB. Sheesh, you would think with all these ridiculous penalties being called to protect everybody and their mother, the injuries would be going down. It's either something in the water, or ALL these NEW rules the NFL is implementing, are actually working in reverse. Nothing good happens playing at half speed.

The league and the players union need to, together, take a look at two things that are negatively impacting the quality of the game; injuries and penalties. I wonder if there is a correlation between the slew of injuries (especially achilles and knees) to the pro-turf composition, lack of collegiate-style braces, "strike zone" rules, and constrained offseason workout programs. As for penalties, are the refs too old and slow, the rulebook too dense and unenforceable, and does the collective bargaining cap on offseason activities mean that the players have less skill and discipline? Either way, the game is becoming borderline unwatchable and something should be done.

I was getting ready to post something similar but decided to see if someone already touched on the topic. I'm thinking, I'm not really listening to coaches timetable on knee injuries.... given past history.

At least this injury is a known quantity. With Perriman, first we heard it was a bruise, then a strain, and finally, it became a tear. Torn ACLs (& MCLs) have a fairly set standard protocol for rehab/recovery, so it should be pretty easy to map out Joe's return (barring unforeseen complications). Here's to getting all our injured players back on the field! Looking forward to next draft and year (can't be any worse than this has been).
