Chris Matthews Added to Practice Squad

I can only hope schaub won't stunt the growth of these guys. It'll be hard to truly evaluate the progress or lack there of. I think they will try to hold on to Givens and Mathews for the team next year. To see what they offer in relations to the draft. It would be great if at least one of them panned out. Less currency in terms of the draft and free agency. I like the move for Mathews.

If he was that great he wouldn't have been a free agent in the first place guys. Keep that in mind.

That Superbowl seems to be an anomaly fluke. The patsies were not prepared for his size with much smaller receivers on the roster. When Browner covered him he was a non factor for most part. He may of ran a 4.59 or whatever but he plods around and takes light years to run after a catch!! He could maybe make some plans here and there. But he is nothing to write home about!! Nor is he an answer at WR. Just more hope on a team desperate for a legit NFL caliber WR!! same for Givens. He does not look as fast as his rookie year. Rams need WRs themselves. Rams would never have traded him if he showed any real potential!! To much hope payed to every received that comes around. Testament to how bad ravens WRs really are!!

Like this signing. Has a lot of potential. Can see Ravens really making the rest of the season a big try out for WR. They are looking for Flaccos future targets now, not just the draft. This guy I would take over Aiken at this point.

Why though? Outside the Super Bowl he's done nothing.

Seattle's WR aren't very good and he couldn't get on the field. What makes you think he'll do any different here?

Aiken has at least been consistently above average. This guy played well one game when no one was expecting it. He made 3 or 4 big plays.

If he can make a big play here and there great, that's useful. But no way over Aiken. We need someone who can consistently catch balls and move the chains. Aiken has proven serviceable at that.

Maybe they are scheme specific, maybe they clashed within the teams structure, maybe the teams numbers warranted their release. Givens went on record as saying they didn't want him to succeed there. Maybe thats true or maybe not.  But it does absolutely no harm to kick them tires. I would also say the Ravens have finally come to the conclusion that there is no one on the original roster that can counted on. That is a long awaited change of attitude and a step in the right direction. Campanaro is a injury bust. Aiken's hands stink. M.Brown can't run past my Grandma. SSsr is probably reconsidering a comeback because he has no idea who will be his QB. We have no money to go top flight next year. The draft isn't exactly super talented in respect to last years draft class. The holes are going to be enormous with departures. It's good to get a headstart somewhere. I can understand the skepticism. But really the only proof we need is to actually see them in the system we run. If they don't try, they will never know. We criticize them when they do nothing and when they do something. We can't have it both ways. I'd rather audition them now. Next year I'd hope we are trying to field a contender. Scared money can't win.

Says a lot when those big plays come in the biggest game of the year. Aiken has been good but very inconsistant for someone who has so much more experience in the league. Like ive said before, maybe there is a reason why he is known as a journeyman.
