Chris Matthews Added to Practice Squad

Should have added him to the 53 man roster, dude can be a big red zone threat for us the way he was in the Super Bowl for the Seahawks.

Great. Let's not IR Flacco and put him on the field in a wheelchair and have him throw him passes in practice.

Or maybe a skateboard. Yes, a skateboard for Joe to rehab and throw passes to his WRs.

I hope this eventually spells the end of Marlon Brown.

LOL to all of that!

But I think Marlon Brown is done. Did even play yesterday? I didn't even see him.

I like the move.  He's done nothing outside of being a super bowl standout really, but it's worth the shot considering his size and the fact that we have another guy that size that is downright awful.  I'd be okay with swapping Matthews in for Marlon just to see if it was just super bowl magic.

Had a good super bowl(ignore this), could potentially be interesting but I don't see him as any more than potential depth where we see if he can offer us anything.

6'5 230lbs and 4 catches for 109 yards and a TD in last years SB ... good move, can't hurt at this point.

Different wr.  You're thinking about Ricardo Lockette I think.  Showed no heart on that final play.

Isn't he like some conservative talk show guy ?

;)

Nice catch...

I think so too. Hopefully he can get a few games in to close out the season and make a case to be in training camp next season ... Lord knows we could use a big bodied WR like that.

Let's say he does make it to the active 53. Will he be utilized correctly by Trestman? I don't know about that.

Jeffrey and Marshall were

I guess it's a good move. But Seattle doesn't really have good WRs and other than the Super Bowl he hasn't done much - and I think that performance had more to do with surprise factor than anything else.

I mean you can't take his catches away from him, a couple of them were really nice... But this isn't a guy that's going to change our WR situation. Just another potential #3-5 guy.

Like this signing. Has a lot of potential. Can see Ravens really making the rest of the season a big try out for WR. They are looking for Flaccos future targets now, not just the draft. This guy I would take over Aiken at this point.

This guy showed up for the Super Bowl and played out of his mind. Funny watching that video and seeing all his big passes he is burning Arrington (sigh). But what happened since the Super Bowl until now? It's not like the Seahawks are the Steelers and loaded at WR. Could someone tell me why he was released? Injuries or just not performing well. There's no way there can't be something wrong with the guy.

I wouldn't take him over Aiken. Aiken is a solid #3 and I think he will be part of this team going forward. He does pretty well in that role when other guys are getting attention from the top corners. However I think this guy is much more intriguing than Marlon at this point. Butler and givens haven't been Doing much either. I think we should really consider bringing up Daniel brown as well.

from what I understand he just hasn't produced. Although the Seahawks obviously don't have the greatest passing attack. Edited by January J

Yea its easy to utilize elite talents like BMarsh and Jeffrey.

Mathews is freakish with 4.5 wheels on a big frame but we'll have to see how he stands among our many other youngsters we have on the roster.

Would be nice to monitor him if he gets playing time to see what he's got though.

He is like Aiken, a great role guy. As long as he isnt counted on to be the guy all game long, he can spark offense. His size and speed will match up well with our other WRs. Butler and Givens are still new and given they have a new QB now, I cant blame their production to a point. I still believe the new guy, Perrimen, Camp, Waller, and maybe even givens are held over to next year, we draft a WR in the first 3 rounds and they all battle it out for 5-6 spots going into next season.
