Should we rest some players at this point?

Brooks missed all of preseason so he wasn't going to play off the bat. He was getting increased snaps until the Cleveland game and got injured. He then missed 5 games. He's been back for one week and Lewis is out I believe this coming game.

His injuries have limited his opportunity, not Lewis. This Webb experiment is proof they're desperate for an alternative to Lewis, they're far from committed to him. If were darn near depleted at corner and they're willing to take one of the top performers this season at that position and give him snaps at safety, then obviously they're not tied to playing Lewis there.

If Brooks had been healthy I guarantee he'd be seeing a fair share of snaps. He just hasn't and I don't see how in any way that's Kendrick Lewis' fault.

You're wrong about a couple of things. Brooks didn't miss all of preseason actually. He played 2 games, one vs. Redskins and one vs. Falcons and played pretty solid. He really only ever got on the field (defense, he's played a good amount of special teams) because of injuries. He played a little bit vs. Raiders because Lewis had a possible concussion where he ended up being fine. Then he played nickel corner vs. Browns because of the injury to Will Davis. These are the only chances he's really had to play on defense this year (small amount, but did some good things, made 7 tackles I believe). Haven't heard of Lewis being out this weekend, hope you're right on that one though. I agree that if he stayed healthy that he would've got more snaps, and even got a start, but this is only because Lewis got hurt vs 49ers. I hope the coaches aren't to committed to Lewis because he hasn't done much at all and is not our long term starter. The coaches are to ignorant to see that they made a bad decision in signing him and won't give up on him which is holding back Brooks from getting more snaps or even starting. It is both the coaches and Lewis' fault. I mean Lewis can't really do anything about being on the team and put as the starter, but him being there is holding Brooks back. I have nothing against Lewis, he seems like a good guy and a decent football player, but our coaches need to wake up and move on. That's all.
