Flacco out for season

856 posts in this topic

Damn, a bad season gets worse. Flacco and Forsett in the same game. This sucks

Pretty much all we had left on offense. Add in Gilmore.

It's a good thing we aren't doing much of that then, lol...don't sweat the draft picks man...JJ Watt wasn't a top 5 pick, hell Flacco himself wasn't either. Franchise players can be had anywhere in the 1st; it's up to us to draw that potential out of them.

Yea I just want the best for us after a bad year. I know our guys don't have it in em to willingly lose.

Gillmore, Yanda and Williams are what we have left. Did I miss anyone?

And finished the game because he did not want to put the team in a time situation and wanted to win.   What other QB does that???     That's my QB and I hope he comes back stronger than ever.

The last QB to start for this team was Troy Smith in 2007.   Remember that.

Joe has been so durable we have taken his durability for granted.

He may not be available most of next season either .It is the end of November!

That dang near brings a tear to my eye. To play with a torn ACL and win the game is stuff that legends are made of.

DAMN RIGHT, thats the first thing I was thinking after I heard ACL injury...this guy guts it out hobbles it out and gets us a win. What a beast, praying for a speedy recovery...and hopefully not a fully torn MCL to go along with it.

Don't worry, if we won three out of ten games WITH Flacco, it's all but certain we don't win another game the rest of the year. We'll back our way into a win somewhere along the line, but it looks like 4-12 is on it's way

My question now is do we take Tunsil/Stanley now if we're in position to. Looks a like a much better pick now than it did last week. I want a sexy pick like Bosa/Ramsey/Hargreaves but you can't complain at all if we go for one of the Tackles. Especially if we lose KO in free agency, yes he's primarily a Guard but then we have even less depth/options on the OL than we did this year.

Yeah I don't see us even beating Cleveland or the Dolphins.

Well as a medicine student all I can say is that this is a very very bad injury because it requires a lot of fiosioterapic work once the ligaments heal and are full go. Sometimes you even don't come 100% because you don't have the same feelings on the injured knee. I think something like 6 months are needed to heal correctly and then you must work on muscles because they drop off. Hope he will be full go in 8 months.

That said, the fact that he's our franchise QB and has the best team someone can have behind him ( I know, I know Perriman and stuff but come on..) and also the fact tha he is not a scrambler type of a QB tranquilizes me a bit. This can be a career ending injury for a WR, a RB a soccer player or a basketball play, but i don't see that being the case for him, I just hope he returns without the fear of running when necessary.
Good luck Joe, be strong!

My thoughts as well. We'll beat one of CLE, MIA, KC and finish 4-12

OT was always a huge priority; hopefully the FO gets the picture loud and clear that THEY CAN NO LONGER SURROUND FLACCO WITH GARBAGE AND EXPECT MIRACLES EVERY YEAR. They need to make a proper investment in this man.

Happened to Brady...  he came back fine.  God be with Joe.

Carson Palmer tore his ACL and returned in time for the start of the season. I'm worried about the MCL though, those are terrible to deal with. Joe does do a great job taking care of his body, I believe he'll be back for 2016.

No one.  He's been chilling out on the FA market for awhile now.

Ok cool. Sign him back and start him over Schaub. Renner outplayed Schaub in the preseason by a lot. I would feel more comfortable with him over Schaub.

The way he was out there I thought it was a hamstring or something. To hear it was an ACL was a massive shock.

How much you want to bet Joe would fight our doctors to start next week against the Browns and finish out the season? I mean I wouldn't have guessed he had a torn ACL the way he was playing.

Look at Brady, traditional drop back passer, only scrambles when absolutely necessary like Joe. Was just fine after his ACL, in a lot of ways he was even better. If this was a skill position player I would be panicking about them never being the same (see Webb). I'm not too terribly concerned with Joe long term, it's a setback but I have faith in him to come back and evolve as a QB. We should switch to more of a quick passing offense similar to NE next year to take the pressure off of Joe, I think we need to clean house and start over completely on both sides of the ball. Trestman trying to run Kubiak's offense is a disaster.

Before season starters:

QB - Flacco

RB - Forsett, Tali

FB - Juice

OL - Monroe, KO, Zuttah, Yanda, Wagner

WR - SSS, Perriman

TE - ???

Now..

Starters for next game:

QB - Schaub

RB - Allen, Mostert

FB - Juice

OL - Hurst, Jensen, Urschel, Yanda, Wagner

WR - Aiken, Givens

TE - Crockett

I say.. rest Dumerville, Will Hill, Williams, Yanda - maybe have them play half the game from here on out. Can't risk them getting hurt and not recover in time for camp.

The Ravens were treading in dangerous waters by playing him against that front four with that offensive line... they'd been very fortunate up to this point. 3-13, here the Ravens come

it was our own guy Jensen I believe that got him not the rams d
