You all don't see the beauty in the FOs thinking.  They brought in Schaub because they knew we wouldn't need to "tank" if he actually got significant reps.  If Flacco went down they knew the season was over regardless.  Brilliant Ozzie.

And why even bother with the back and forth.  Everyone can barrage him with the facts, it won't chance his opinion.  Pick your battles or you all will all end up looking like fools.

That isn't proof. How many receivers who have left this team are even still in the NFL? Most are not. The two good ones who are would be Boldin and Torrey. There hasn't been a chance for them to go elsewhere since going to the Niners, and both have actually expressed dissatisfaction being on that team when neither ever expressed dissatisfaction as a Raven. I seem to recall Boldin really wanting to remain a Raven, the fact that he isn't a Raven is because our front office didn't want him, not the other way around. Besides, how often in the NFL do players leave a team and then go back? Not often. Your proof is a meaningless fact and has nothing to do with the premise of the discussion.

Deion Branch did it if you want to know.  I pulled that off the top of my head.  Should I look for more?

I'm not really concerned about whether this is the place to speak realistically about our 120 million dollar Qb that is clearly under performing.

Cam with Rushing stats just proves he's a well rounded Qb that takes what the defense gives him. Joe has the same opportunities to run (he can run) he chooses not to. If it's all about wins and losses then the panthers are setting the tone with there running QB that has elected to manage the game then to put up gaudy numbers.

I hate on everyone that can be replaced.  He should have been replaced by TYROD in all honesty.  With Taylor's contract we would have been able to rebuild the trenches and get receiver help.

You're not realistic and that is the problem.

Example 1: Bengals. Have all the pieces. Are one heck of a talented team. What holds them back? Oh that's right, they're QB play. This season is still playing out - but from what I've seen, Dalton is still Dalton and I doubt they go far in the post-season.

Example 2: Browns. QB needy for years now and wasting picks and money trying to find that franchise guy. I think you know their story.

Example 3: 49ers. Kap was ALL the rage. He was the IT man. Now look at them.

You don't throw your franchise guy away in a year where we lack any sort of defense, the O line is suspect, the run game is suspect and he STILL manages to produce that the offense is Top 10. There is nothing logical nor realistic about that. AS for his cap number, it has not stopped this franchise from doing anything and is not prohibitive until next season. It will be reworked and still be reasonable.

nope no silence, just haven't had a chance to reply.

The only post I can see from tru in the last 10 pages made towards virginia was saying the 120mil contract figure is deceiving...

No, that's not big impartial like he says he is.

Please, will people stop blaming our problems on Flacco's contract. As of right now, he does not hold much against the cap, and he will restructure next year when the contract inflates. The real problem lies with all the dead money from other stupid contracts, which OZZIE NEWSOME gave out to players who are really not worth it. Webb sucks, Smith sucks, Monroe is a waste, Ngata is no longer on the team, and neither is Ray Rice. Lets not forget Pitta, whom our front office, NEWSOME AGAIN, decided to give a new contract too after he broke his hip. OZZIE NEWSOME needs to retire NOW!!! He's lost it, or else he just stopped caring. His recent draft picks have been real head scratchers.

It's not just his contract but him in general.  He's on back to back down seasons and he needs lots of help.  Our current roster might not be able to sustain his inflated contract and lack of weapons in the foreseeable future.  We are drafting TE's and other guys that don't fit what we would expect for a big ARM pocket passing QB.  You need lots of good tight ends when you want to throw the intermediate routes effectively.  I might agree with you on the OZZIE thing if he didn't hit on the DT position and linebacker position so hard.  Brandon Williams and Mosley have great upside and are beast right now.

The defense played their last three games well. We won two and Schaub being Shaub throws the pick six today that was deflected so only half the blame goes to Shaub.  We are in position to win and Tucker missed again.

Cleveland just has a look of a QB that they want instead of drafting the best available guy suited to run there offense.

Dalton is playing to win games instead of stats. He is leaning on his defense and making good decisions.

That's what we need from Flacco.  We can say the defense has been horrible all year but they came together last game and got us that W.  Now the offense needs to step up and make plays.  But we have been saying this all year as well.

Do you reply to EVERY person who says something you don't agree with?  I know I see posts I want to dispute, but most the time I'm on mobile and it's not always that serious.

I'll give Virginia this.  He's defending his point with passion.

Flacco is at least a better QB than I am.

We all should be able to agree on that right?

100% sure he gets paid higher than you.

1% chance you still might be better than him.

I just read here that Flacco has had back-to-back down seasons. I don't even need to quote anyone or make an argument here. Just stopping back in to mention how ridiculous this is getting. This is getting out of hand and heading in the wrong direction. It ends with all our brains leaking out of our ears if we're not careful.

no, but tru claims to be impartial , like others, but 95 percent of his flacco related posts criticise him. He's actually not impartial.

I criticise flacco more than he'd ever compliment him and I'm a flacco homer.

Anyway no point arguing about him, he is and will be our qb until he retires. I'm glad.

I just hope we draft someone to groom behind him and can start immediately when he goes. I couldn't imagine 2 3 years of a qb situation like we have now. Schaubs, clausen's, signing free agents etc.

I've seen him defend Flacco before, but I'll leave that alone.

I'm happy with Flacco and think most are.  I don't think there's any point in drafting his back up yet.  Wouldn't seriously consider looking another guy for at east another 2-3 years.  If we did, I wouldn't expect anything higher than a fourth being spent on a guy they groomed.

Not saying you, but if those defending Flacco do it with such passion they are just homers with purple shades.

Good point.  Let me just say, I've never agreed with Virginia though.  You can argue with passion and be VERY wrong.  I've been there.

Run for the hills. Some people will post anything regardless of the truth or lack thereof. Sadly, some people are gullible enough to believe and repeat the misinformation.

Yes, please do. it's wonderful that you thought of one example in the last 20-30 years, but we're a tough crowd, we need a little better than that.

Unless you take his per minute salary against my five year salary MAYBE I can compete.

1% chance you still might be better than him.

Yeah I'll take that.

Pretty sure this person suffered a serious head injury, and as a result, confuses Boller for Flacco. Only possible explanation other than t roll

I have a friend in Boston who told me we didn't have any depth or real talent at key positions because the Ravens were paying Flacco $20 mil. a year. This guy is not what you would call a football nut, but he is not unintelligent or naive. Just goes to show how misinformation becomes assumed fact.

Bean, you're right...  Flacco was 14 yds. shy of 4000 yes last year.  Not a down year at all.

Walk of pick to end the best year of his career.

My bad guys, nice catch, I was referring to the year prior.

See how easy I admit, I was wrong.

Now if only others could do the same.

If so, it's not because of Flacco but rather because his home base is in Virginia. Very close to Baltimore.

You trying to say he would choose crap/Gabbert over Flacco?
