Flacco out for season

856 posts in this topic

This is the most cursed season I have ever seen....

The fact that this dude played through a torn acl and mcl is insane. I will never get mad again when it seems like he is emotionless on the sidelines..the guy wants to win

Get well soon

it was a couple plays to get in field goal range at the very very end of the game.....lol.

joe has a high pain tolerance is what we learned/confitmed...that's all. he didn't really play on the knee and wouldn't have really been able to drive the ball down field if need be unless he backfooted everything.

I'm pretty sure that was Adalius, not Ray...

Yeah, this win sucks. I feel no glory in it. I am not talking about a stinking draft pick either.

It came at far too high of a price. Flacco AND Forsette. SMH.

Flacco haters I am just gonna quote Tom Keifer from Cinderella,

"Don't know what you got, till it's gone "

As far as Shaub and the rest of the season is concerned, I still hope we win out. I still wanna see our players play their rear ends off. I still want to beat Pitts-burgh. ( am going to that one )

I am sure Joe will be fine. He is just THAT kid of guy. He will work hard, he will follow the doctors advise.

Joe will be back and he will be just fine.

No doubt.Joe is a fighter and he'll come back just fine.

Jeeze, look at Carson Palmer how many blown out knees has he had? They say that the repaired ACL should actually be stronger than it was pre injury so long as you let it heal.

How did they not pull him? He played three or 4 snaps after it happened?

He's so dang tough he played through it.  Didn't want to come off the field. Hurst rolled up on him.  Whole season has been sickening.

Yeah, even the Steelers fans I've seen around have been saying it's a tough break and that kind of thing. But then, our rivalry with them was always built on mutual respect. The Patriots are just classless, arrogant blowhards. And their fans are even worse.

Be great to see them stumble at the first block, but that's the fine line between the best case scenario and the worst. As great as it'd be to see them get humiliated early, it'd be insufferable if they won a Lombardi off an unbeaten season. If I were given the choice between that and literally sticking needles in my eyes, I'd take longer to decide than I'm proud to admit.

It's probably because we "tipped off" the Colts about the footballs. I can't stand that fan base, ever since that game where Torrey's brother died and they were saying rude stuff to him on social media and what not. Totally classless and they think they're so high and mighty compared to everyone else. They probably got it from their cheating QB whom I can't wait to retire so the NFL can have dignity again

They are squalor.

As Joe Montana said, "If you're not cheating, you're not trying...and they are trying hard."

New England is beautiful, expect for the people.

Tough year, Joes been tough, so hopefully he makes one of the speedier recoveries.

This was an Al Davis quote and there was a sign above the door in the locker room.

Yeah it was only a couple plays but go and watch people with torn Acl's lay crying on the field unable to get up.

He got up , hopped around, and then completed 2 more handoffs and a spike. Carson palmer of all people tore his last year and laid collapsed on the field.

People that think it was nothing are completely undervaluing the injury and level of pain associated.  Even so much as taking the snap and pivoting to turn around, while taking steps towards the RB, is incredibly painful to do.

As stated, most players rarely get up after this injury, let alone get up, go back to putting pressure on it, and moving around like it's nothing but a bruise.

Montana also said it recently.

Ok, but he was quoting Al Davis.  Anyway, I was just saying where the original saying came from.  Not a big deal.

many sports are individual like track & field, golf, tennis, nascar etc.

usain bolt will disagree with you!!! pretty sure he's a great athlete.

Excuse me. I was referring to a team sport called football. No doubt Usain Bolt is a great athlete. I even mentioned him in a previous post along with Renaldo Nehemiah and Bob Hayes, who were also great athletes. I'd love to see how Usain Bolt could catch passes from Joe Flacco. That would be something, but as I stated before it takes more than speed to make a talented, elite WR. It takes great hands, great leaping ability and great route running ability I addition to speed. Arguably though, I'd rather have Bruce Jenner on the team 'cause he was probably a greater athlete than Usain Bolt. I'm jest saying! Have ya ever heard of the decathlon? Otherwise, I have no problem with anything you said.

I still blame this all on Shaub.... the season, the penalties, the injuries

Yep. He's a curse on all teams he plays. Look at the Texans and Raiders.

Dude I'm just happy that there weren't people complaining that we settled for three and that Rodgers or Brady would have gotten the TD.

Joe played more snaps with a torn ACLand MCL than Perriman, with a strained PCL, did all year.

I will admit, I chuckled a bit but I've lightened up on Perriman honestly.

We never tore Brady's ACL. Not sure how it's karma.

IDIOT Patriots fans...  Pollard did it, but he was playing for Kansas City when it happened....  They just don't know no better.

I hope this doesn't impact Steve Smith's decision. At the least this might drag it on. If Joe makes good progress then hopefully it could sway Steve to return.

Im sure he wants to win, he isn't going to return just to share cookie recipies.

Ah, just a little tongue-in-cheek, and I hear ya regarding Perriman. Let's just hope he's catching rainbows from Joe come next year's opener...

Yeah, honestly I'm upset at the Ravens for the mis-information.

So the Ravens have confirmed Flacco tore his ACL and MCL, Harbaugh says Joe will have surgery once the swelling goes down. Can anyone here say how long it takes for the swelling to go down and the time frame for when the surgery will happen? It seems if Joe is waiting for the swelling to go down, it might take another week or so before he can get surgery which would only hurt his chances of being ready by Week 1 of 2016.

The worst thing is that Jensen pushed Donald down by running him down from behind, which caused Donald to get off-balance and for his right foot to kick into Hurst's right foot, causing Hurst to lose balance and fall backwards while working against #96 (not even sure who this guy is, can't find his name) then this wouldn't have happened. Ironically, if Jensen just let Flacco get sacked or hit we would probably still have Iron Joe.

Usually inside a month depends on how good a healer your are. Rivers tore up his knee in the playoffs and was back in 100 days.

Either way, I think Hurst managed to wrest the title of worst-Ravens-offensive-lineman-ever from Oniel Cousins.

Upshaw picked a fine time to get a strip/sack. If he hadn't Houston would (probably have) had another kick and the Ravens would likely have lost the game, but not their passer.

But really this is all Justin Tucker's fault for missing the kick. Baltimore could have just run the clock down rather than attempt to pass down the field for better position.

If only...

Because I know some people are going to take the above sentences too seriously - don't.
