Flacco out for season

856 posts in this topic

I want them to finish 16-0 and lose in the first round.

Amazing amounts of respect for Flacco that I'm seeing from ALL fans except for those trashbags.

What else is new. It's expected from scum like them. Not ALL Pats fans are scum because I've met some cool Pats fans. Plus the Pats fan on this board (Pats is his name) is cool with us too.

Didn't see it, but to play on a torn ACL and potentially torn MCL is pretty beastly. Heal up, dude!

Yea, never would've guess that's what happened. Maybe I was in denial, but dude looked like he just stubbed a toe!

Joe's a classy guy & a tough hombre. I pity the fool who ever gets him mad.

He won't restructure at all most likely, because a restructure without a pay cut doesn't do the Ravens any good.

He will sign an extension, not restructure. However, most fans think that at $20M AAV he is overpaid, which is likely what his extension will be worth.

Yes, his cap number will be lower in 2016, but I'd bet its still going to be in the $18-20M range, which will be by far the highest of his career.

The people that say he "should take less for the team" mean that literally. They aren't asking him to restructure his deal for 2016, because that makes 2017 and 2018 worse. They are quite literally asking him to sign a new deal that will pay him less, which isn't likely in my opinion.

Yep, I meant extension, not restructure. I agree on the point of asking him (or anybody else for that matter) to take less.

Just watched the play, him pop up and run towards the sideline, then turn around and head back into the huddle...and his post game in the locker room. What a beast!

Yeah his locker room interview was great.

Ya gotta love his nonchalant attitued.

Joe is just awesome.

I didn't have confidence in this Ravens offense whatsoever with Joe Flacco at the helm due to a lack of talent and I definitely don't have any confidence in it without him!  Joe gave us the best QB option at trying to win a game but Schaub?  My goodness!  Smh!

I feel bad for Joe Flacco.  Everything that could go wrong this season...has and is going wrong for this Ravens team!

When it rains it pours and sometimes it floods!

Get well Flacco!

Maybe now Ozzie and Bisciotti will invest not only cap room and dollars in Joe, but personnel and weapons too. This season has to be a learning experience for them.

We've been cursed with major injuries this season.... This is just not our season guys. This season is really humbling. I'm really wondering what ideas, changes, personal and draft decisions will come up??

On a positive note, I wonder if Buck Allen will have a breakout rookie season now that he has the chance to show us? Also wonder if Terrance West will share some carries and prove his passion to be playing for his favorite team?

Yeah, gotta give it to him, he is one tuff guy. I was watching it with a couple of my buddies and we were in awe that he stayed in and got us in position WITH A TORN ACL!!!! Not many would attempt that, if he takes another shot on that thing, it's literally game over for him. It was risky, but amazing. Reminiscent of Leftwich against Akron in 02, well, maybe not but he gets props!!

So, what the heck are we going to talk about without our weekly Flacco thread??

In honor of Flacco, can I get my badge changed from hall of famer to "Elite"??

OR Rivers 2008: people aren't supposed to play on a torn ACL, either. Rivers did. On Jan. 13 in Indianapolis, he injured his right knee in the Chargers' upset win over the Colts in the AFC divisional playoffs. On Jan. 14, he had arthroscopic surgery to clean out the damaged cartilage. He was told all week leading up to the Jan. 20 AFC title game at New England that there was no way he could play. Somehow, Rivers did.

He had surgery Jan. 23 to repair the torn ACL. Less than four months later, he's back on the field -- and wearing a heavy brace on his right knee.

[url=http://espn.go.com/nfl/columns/story?columnist=williamson_bill&id=3379779] Those knee braces suck I lived in one for 2 yrs AND this article gives me hope Joe has 2 more months then Rivers did and of course 7 more yrs of orthopods learn and better technique's

The only upside is Joe will have plenty of time to recover. I'm no doctor, but seeing how other ACL tears have gone, and the fact that Joe is pretty healthy and not really a runner, I think he makes a strong comeback to start week 1 next year. With that said, hopefully they can build around him with some shiny new toys to play with when he gets back

Eh not to worry. I'm fairly certain we'll have plenty of fodder for a Schaub thread! :P

But he would have still been paid if he had taken the game off.

I getcha!!!

however, contracts have incentives and you get paid extra if ya make it too the playoffs to be honest. winning counts in the the nfl...and you need to add it to your resume as many weeks as possible.

i don't know any football players with paid time off unless injured, lol. flacco can't go on vacation for a month and let the rest of the team handle it like the majority of us cubicles workers that accrue leave over the years. Flacco can't take two month of paternity/maternity leave like Mark Zuckerberg and still get paid....

The difference is Flacco had a choice to be at the birth and chose to be with his team then see his wife and child after the game and the guys in the armed forces don't have a choice.

with all due respect (yeah, i know lol )....but, when was the draft re-instituted? Pretty sure the armed forces has been a career choice like anything else for 30+ years.

That was probably the last thing on Joe's mind because he knows great athletes know that individual stats are for losers.

Hurry back, Frozen Joe Flacco! We need you!!!!!!!!!!!

many sports are individual like track & field, golf, tennis, nascar etc.

usain bolt will disagree with you!!! pretty sure he's a great athlete.

but if everyone was healthy...especially SSS and our numer 1 pick WR I'm sure we would be better off. Plus if our defense was healthy all around we would be better off. we need better depth at WR like green bay where next guys up are playmaklers....are they even missing jordy nelson at all?!?!?
