[News] Ravens Receiver Kamar Aiken Has Grown Up Fast

30 posts in this topic

Glad to see him stepping up a bit more even though it isnt resulting much towards the score of the game, least he is less invisible though. For a few weeks he was so quiet, wasnt even sure if he was playing

I really enjoy reading stories about our players. When it's a slow news week, I'd much rather read something interesting about a player's life and football journey than a rehashing of the same news. Aiken has had his share of hardship growing up and I'm glad he made it in the NFL. Aiken has taken some really brutal hits, yet he keeps playing. I admire his toughness.

Wow you guys are awfully tuff on our players !

How about keeping your negative crap to yourselves?

Yeah, cause this season has been  nothing but rainbows and sunshine.

I like his game, he just needs to have faster starts....But since he is now the #1 WR, i think he will continue to embrace it, and continue to progress....

Thank you for this Great story, This article is gold. Proud of Aiken, Kamar is the best WR in the team behind Steve smith. True raven, i want aiken to retire a raven and I wish kamar aiken the best because he deserves it by the way he plays and thinks. Great mentality. Go Kamar aiken! GO RAVENS!

Right now its Aiken's time and for that matter Givens too. They are playing for their Raven/NFL future. You get your shot take it and don't look back.

i like his heart, and he has shown some damn good ball skills lately. i would seriously love to see one of those stories where an undrafted player bounces around, finds one place to settle in and hone his craft, and defies his limitations through heart and hard work, he is a big strong guy, he has good ball skills, and if he can work hard enough and become a skilled route runner, he could become a pretty good wr. many teams have had those guys that show up out of nowhere and just work hard and learn to excel at the whole route tree, im hoping aiken can be the first ravens wr to do so.

He's a pretty solid #3. I wouldn't mind having him back next year. Hopefully the corps will look something like

1)FA addition

2) SSS

3)perriman

4)Aiken

5)camp

6)Waller/ or another drafted rookie that beats him out.

Whats up Jan.

I agree about Aiken being on the backend of our WR lineup for next season. But Campanaro has proved to be unreliable, always getting injured. And as much as I would like to see SSS surrounded by young talent, he will be a liability bro, he'll be 37 and coming off two big injuries. I think it'll be smarter for us to draft another WR, hopefully our staff can actually get a WR that will deliver. Because as of right now, NONE of our drafted wr's are playing smh.

Even if Perriman can live up to his hype next season, we will need another productive WR, if not an ELITE receiver. We have a franchise QB who we are paying a lot of money too, it is imperative that we give him weapons, and not mediocre 50/50 guys.

Flacco has been Iron Man for us for 7 years straight, we need WR's that will stay in and fight with him.

Cut six times, three different teams, number one receiver? This just shows how bad the Ravens are. Don't get me wrong, Aiken has done his best, but if he is your number one receiver, you are in serious trouble.

If you look at it objectively, yes, he's had a few drops, key ones at that. But so has Smith. I think he was a good pickup by Ozzie, and could be a darn good option for Joe, the next few years. Didn't Qadry bounce around a few years before he became Ravens go to guy in 2000?

which is exactly why I said we need to add a FA receiver and draft one. We also will have perriman next year. SSS is the opposite of a liability, he will be insurance and a good backup or number 2 for joe. He was just asked to do too much this year and he had to pretty much carry the offense on his shoulders which was unfair to him. He will be much better as a #2 or even 3.. And that will also keep him fresh. Not to mention the mentoring aspect he plays with the younger guys. And the leadership. Might not be an option anyway. That's why we have to prepare as if he's not coming back- similar to what we did with pitta. Then if he does it will just be icing on the cake. Edited by January J

I REEEAAALLLY like getting to know the backstories of the players.

Even though they're not playing that well, Marlon Brown and Kamar Aiken's backstories make me really appreciate them.

Same with Forsett (although he isn't playing that badly).

No4 talent at best. Poor speed, zero separation, and worst of all bad hands. There are slow/er guys that play well in the possession wr position, but even those guys have other skills that yield separation and they most likely have great hands. A.Bolden is one of them. Aiken is at most a possession style player. But his hands are never reliable and even under current circumstances, Joe has given Aiken tons of opportunities to "knuckle up"...and he has blown too many of those chances. I used to like him but i have seen zero improvement in the last few yrs in his play. same old same old

Your actually right bro, SSS was asked to do too much. I can only imagine if Perriman was in to complement him or vice versa. The perfect scenario would be to have a healthy SSS teamed up with Perriman, and draft or sign a much more productive receiver. Although I do want to see what Darren Waller will turn into.
