[News] Safety Terrence Brooks Eager To Get His Chance To Play

25 posts in this topic

Brooks should play every snap he is physically able to. Ozzie needs to see how well he and the other young guys can develop, as they will either be the nucleus to build on or will need to be jettisoned in favor of better players.

Brooks is making too many mental mistakes in practice according to Pees but what about all the mental and physical mistakes that Kendrick Lewis is making in real games?!

I am not one that wants to see us lose solely to get the draft pick, sorry, just can not hope for the Ravens to lose.

However, I think Harbs needs to play the young guys to see if we can find players that will help us go forward. Make something good come out of this season.

Play Brooks over Lewis

Play Urban and Davis over Canty.

Use the last 7 games as a tryout for every RB and receiver on the team. Find players.

This season has been a big negative....evaluate players. Finding a player or two who will have a big impact going forward salvages something IMO.

"said the young safety is still making too many mental errors in practice. " First, this season is over and second people that look good in practice led to this 2-7 team. At this point even the ball boy should have a few plays.

Brooks has all the tools to be very good, if he's making any mental errors I wouldn't look much further than Pees to blame for that lol We need a quick safety that can cover the field. SO far Lewis is a ghost every time we see the ball chucked down field.

“I love the guy, and he can run, he can hit,” Defensive Coordinator Dean Pees said. “It’s just sometimes, he has just got to know the position, and you can’t go out, and you can’t make a mental error, whether it be in practice or whatever. That doesn’t exactly build confidence then to let him do it in the game.”

Hello Pees, we're 2-7 and have no shot in hades to see the post season. Give the kid a shot.  How can you honestly say that his mental errors in practice will be any worse than Lewis' mental errors during the game?

We're talking bout practice, not a game, practice!!  [Allen Iverson voice}

Since Ed Reed left it seems the Ravens coachs can't seem to develop a good Safety. Elam looks like a bust and Brooks makes to many mistakes and so on. When these players get to their forth years they'll probably become great players and then leave as free agents because we don't seem to be able to handle the cap. I know I'll get negs but I get so angry because of how we handle the cap, and the we handle some of the players by not playing them for three years and losing them after the forth year.

i disagree nickinfla...the Ravens drafting these players and not letting them play, they first and second year players there gonna make a few mistakes. you drafted them let them play. playing draft picks they drafted has nothing to do with the cap. just look at the players playing time we drafted over the last three years.

Elam was a not so great option from the draft now Brooks is facing that same issue. These picks have not worked out due to injury or lack of focus,i don't know but it seems like alot of hit or miss with our drafts picks lately.

How exactly is Brooks fitting the same mold as Elam. First off Elam was a 1st Rd pick, Brooks was 3rd. Secondly, Brooks came in ND play very solid football last season (playing both safety and nickel) before tearing his acl. He's finally healthy for pretty much the first time this season, but will probably only see time at nickel since Kendricks is pretty much entrenched at the starting spot. I see him winning the job next season unless we draft Ramsey in the 1st rd.

Still have a lot of faith in Brooks' potential. Give him more reps over Lewis, not like we're going anywhere this year.

Start him. Can't lose anything. He has the smarts to overcome his mental errors, playing game time. The season is over. Play the young guys. Choose the players for 2016.

Considering that both Hill and Lewis are jokes (as I knew they would be), start the kid. We have nothing left to lose. Either way, Ozzie has def. lost his touch, in the draft AND FA, and that's progressively been the case now for the last few years. A few gems does not excuse all the wastes of time he's brought onto this roster.

I wouldn't say Hill is a joke. He's really the only guy doing well in the secondary. Webb isn't doing bad either lately. We need to start Brooks over Lewis though. No question. Why even start Lewis anymore? He hasn't done anything and isn't in our plan for the future. Let's just hope Brooks is active this weekend and eventually earns the starting spot.

I seriously can see why Dan Pees is worried about this guy screwing up when this team has 40 some doing a fine job now. Is Dan worried he might embarrass himself? Management already has that covered. Fans will not boo a guy for getting on the field and trying and for "TEAM" sake ask Ed Reed to train him then.

I'm not talking about there draft position, talking about they both are inconsistent and both fighting through injuries. <_<
