Per ESPN, John Harbaugh is giving out 'effort stickers' to reward Ravens

As much as I wanna bash how stupid the stickers are.

We are undefeated since.

The stickers killed Flacco. He was working hard to get more and this happened.

But you're also probably not trying to pay them millions and ask them to play a game for a living. You're asking them to do hard work to make a living. There is a difference.

As a business owner with employees this is my lane man!  Making a living is making a living regardless of whether or not you're playing a game to do it or how much money passes hands.  And, If I'm paying you "millions" for your livelihood then the sticky concept for a grown man is even more asinine no matter how you or others try to spin it!

I just don't get it. Maybe we're just thickheaded, Mili. I'm still wondering what POSITIVE could possibly come out of this. Legitimate question. Maybe it's just a lighthearted joke to distract us from the reality of things? I just can't fathom what the goal here possibly could be (that does not lead to Harbs looking like an idiot), but my failure to understand is my issue, not a reflection on the team. All the thoughts presented in this thread all lead to our team looking like fools. Even if it were the players' idea as some people said is a possibility, again, it brings me to the original question...what's the point, the desired outcome?

Naw we're just to sensible on this otherwise idiotic concept Fly.

Flacco should get infinite stickers for playing on the torn ACL.

Flacco and Forsett got ALL the stickers this week. Now the rest of the team is really ticked!

Maybe Schaub can't wait to get his first one! :P

Yeah on top of that, what concerns me is how do you objectively determine effort? Maybe Jim Bob is out there giving effort and he doesn't get his superfluous gold sticker and feels like Bobby Joe didn't deserve his and feels like Coach is playing favorites.

What if Jimmy Smith doesn't get his sticker and loses confidence in himself as a result? Maybe he thinks that coach doesn't think he's that good if he doesn't get the sticker.

I don't like it at all

Well maybe they are stickers for " hard remember me hits"!! A sticker for dishing out concussions, hard Hits and taking out a leg and blowing up a defenseless receiver!! I always said harbaugh should single out the names of players that did not win their match ups!! And ask them who they were humiliated by. How they lost their match up and ask them what they are going to do to fix it like work harder in the training room and practice field and ask them if they are going to put extra hours of work in every day until they are good enough to win their match ups. And even let the media into these meetings and record players responses.

Maybe he's doing this in order to say that the players who don't show effort will not be on this team next year. We need bodies now but with a roster overhaul Harbs won't tolerate players who didn't put their heart on the line every game. I just wish he found a less corny way to say it.

This is not a good look, man.I read the title and thought they meant metaphorical effort stickers. My brain could'nt fathom him handing out actual stickers.I can't stop cringing.

We sure did show effort out there. I'm not sure whether to be happy if these stickers work or not. I don't want grown men to be motivated by stickers.

Are we really still talking about this...

What's wrong with saying that maybe the stickers worked? I mean, I do think they showed effort out there and a will to win. Sheesh.

Nothing is wrong with saying that "maybe they worked".  I just think folks are making too big a deal over it.

That being said...  Some of the jokes in the game thread were pretty funny.

Look, the way this season has gone, I think every Ravens fan deserves a sticker.

It's a talking point in the forum like all other subjects Gene.  Some of us are against it while others are for it.  No different than any other topic in here.

Is it that different from a patch on the uniform?

I remember watching a NFL SoundFX of a 49ers/Ravens game, where Alex Smith said how he used to do the "Dogs Chant", Ray Lewis did, in Highschool.

These are grown men, who play a GAME professionally. I'm fine with it, if it works.

Getting motivated by stickers is so stupid. I bet everyone in Pittsburgh is laughing at us:

Oh, right...well atleast none of the players...

Yah man, grown men.

You had me somewhat agreeing with you until you brought up the terrible towel. Bad analogy for something that's a tradition.

I find the "spinning the towel"-tradition really silly. Regardless, NFL teams do all kinds of silly things and take them serious for "motivation".

It's hard to take a guy in Darth Vader uniform at a Raiders game serious, who thinks he somehow impacts the game in the "black hole".

Mili -

I'm not one of those that disagrees with the concept...  if I knew exactly what constituted getting one.  If it motivates the guys then so be it.  It seems as though they are doing whatever it takes to get a win.  It's the guys that are making fun of something they know very little about.  All they know is what Hensley reported.

The hole in your argument is this is a fan based idea and not really for the players. You did make a good point on the little uniform patch. Bad example with the terrible towel and the other attempts.

Didn't you get yours?

Can you change my title from "Hall of Famer" to "Injured Reserve"? I've never cared to change it, but I think it fits. I think that's appropriate for this season.

And no, please send me my sticker.
