Per ESPN, John Harbaugh is giving out 'effort stickers' to reward Ravens

I think we need to get the entire story before we criticize what's going on.  ESPN has never been a huge fan of the Ravens either...

They're going to laugh at us around the league and they're going to laugh hard.

Really, I would rather they laugh instead of hearing on every comment this is a crime organization full of thugs.  Thier stickers who cares live with it

Has he had the good fortune to hand any out considering the lack of effort displayed in crunch time? This idea of tee shirts with slogans and now stickers is very childish and high school reminiscent. These are grown professional men being paid millions to do their job. Stickers? Really?

I still can't come to terms with the fact that we've already lost to the Raiders, Niners, Browns and the Jags and 2 of them at home! Man what a difference a couple of years makes? Who knew the impact of losing stalwarts like Reed, Lewis and Suggs be? Joe can't be the emotional leader of this team as he's acknowledged a million times before so we need leadership from someone else.

What a joke.

Wonder how many Pees has and maybe a few position coaches. For darn sure our WR coach.

How the heck can we not develop a decent WR in all these years? Instead our #1 are Vets we pick up for a couple of years and no solid number 2. Q and Torrey ?

Why has this team not been running 2 TE sets they seem after SS going dn to be our best ball catchers.

Hope your on your coaches as much as your on the players, they go hand in hand.

The author is Jamison Hensley, who is one of the most biased and homer reporters in the media landscape. Hensley bows down to the Ravens.

A lot of these men are coming up in the PG era of society where Participation trophy were the rule, not the exception. So I wouldn't be surprised at all if this is happening. But like homie at the top said, you're a grown man! If someone needs a sticker to prove their worth, the Ravens got more trouble than I thought. lol

I just got the sticky off the bathroom from potty training the 5 yo. I love the 5 yo he got a trophy for soccer-- 1 game rained out, 1 we stayed home due to his illness-- he tried to give it back because he told the coach he didn't win anything. At his age it's clinic but I don't think Ravens practice is and they all better be potty trained! If a pay check and and the honor it is to play in the NFL isn't enough then the player has a problem.

Here's the eventual narrative:

Harbaugh's plan-

1. Get rid of most of the strong personality/leadership players

2. Emasculate the rest of them

3. Support Donald Trump

"He's softening up the the team!"

Lol, he's on thin ice.

This is a step away from hanging a banner up for making the final four.

This isn't college or pee wee. I'd rather the thug comments. This team is soft.

Yeah Hensley is never going to be a guy I accuse of being biased against us

I wouldn't make too much fun of it.... Have you read the article at all?  If you want to quote analysts or journalists, we do encourage that you attach the link...  It's helpful in providing clarity.   Just sayin.

http://espn.go.com/blog/baltimore-ravens/post/_/id/23761/john-harbaugh-giving-out-effort-stickers-to-motivate-ravens

I'm not sure what you're implying but if you're implying this might be a good thing I think you should reconsider your stance. Even Canty seems to think this is a little stupid.

I'm honestly starting to wonder if Harbaugh has lost the team.

I agree 100%.  So, we don't want the hype up or "rah-rah" speeches of a Ray Lewis to inspire players around here anymore BUT we're reduced to handing out gold stickers...like these men are kids?  WOW!  SMH!!

It's not as ridiculous as folks make it sound.  That's all.  One could have said the same for the T-shirts and the signage around the facility...  I don't think so.  Whatever motivates people, motivates people.

"Certainly, it's not one of those things to be overlooked, especially on the defensive side of the ball. Effort to the football is very important."

"It's more of a pride thing for each individual player," Ravens tight end Crockett Gillmore said. "That's just the character of the team. If you want to be a Raven, you're going to fly around and you're going to get to the ball. This proves to everybody that not only does it show up on film but it's going to show up on your locker."

Doesn't sound like they hate it too much.

You left this part out though Gene....

"It kind of feels like we're back in elementary school a little bit," defensive end Chris Canty said.

Harbaugh's latest motivational tool didn't come with much of speech.

"I think this is something that he just sprung on us," Canty said. "It's definitely different. I guess if you stay in this league long enough, you'll see just about everything."

Is it unreasonable to say that the Ravens organization is the laughing stock of the NFL this year?

49ers but we aren't doing ourselves any favors

Yeah on top of that, what concerns me is how do you objectively determine effort? Maybe Jim Bob is out there giving effort and he doesn't get his superfluous gold sticker and feels like Bobby Joe didn't deserve his and feels like Coach is playing favorites.

What if Jimmy Smith doesn't get his sticker and loses confidence in himself as a result? Maybe he thinks that coach doesn't think he's that good if he doesn't get the sticker.

I don't like it at all

The 49ers didn't come into the season with people picking them to go to the Super Bowl. They had turmoil in the offseason and hired a new HC along with multiple other coaching spots.

They also beat us. The nod goes to the Ravens at the moment.

The turmoil in the offseason is why I see them having the edge, half that team left. Them beating us is a good point though, we are pretty bad

I'm so happy you got the sarcasm and humor in that comment. I was worried it would be lost

Maybe this is the time where we remove "Play Like A Raven" and replace with "Play for your stickers".

JH has lost this team, his buddy system has caught up to him. He no longer has a Ray or ED keeping the players in check or covering the play calling, now your seeing Harbs true coaching abilities.

I think fans should get the sticks first Harbs, cause most of us are going to have to put in a lot of effort into getting motivated to  want to watch the rest of the season

They should wear them on their helmets like in college. That'll embarass them enough to straighten things out, especially for the guys with only one sticker.

ive been a harbaugh supporter throughout this mess, but WOW... this is unacceptable. he needs to scrap this idea immediately, and if he keeps it up with these stupid little nonsense ideas and his false and empty rah-rah talk, then the team is going to get to a point where they just roll their eyes and go through the motions hoping he shuts up.

he WILL lose the team with this kinda stupidity, and steve will not have it. this is embarrassing man.
