Per ESPN, John Harbaugh is giving out 'effort stickers' to reward Ravens

REALLY hope this isn't true.

These are grown men, treating them like children probably isn't a good idea, especially when they're losing.

I saw this earlier... Hate this for young children, hate it even more for millionaires.

Although, he could be doing it to embarrass them.

Lmao. I HOPE that's the case, but doubt it.

A lot of these men are coming up in the PG era of society where Participation trophy were the rule, not the exception. So I wouldn't be surprised at all if this is happening. But like homie at the top said, you're a grown man! If someone needs a sticker to prove their worth, the Ravens got more trouble than I thought. lol

Wow...is this for real. Shameful.

I had a lot of respect for John but honestly don't even know what to say about that or what is happening to our teams morale.

I wouldn't make too much fun of it.... Have you read the article at all?  If you want to quote analysts or journalists, we do encourage that you attach the link...  It's helpful in providing clarity.   Just sayin.

I'm not sure what you're implying but if you're implying this might be a good thing I think you should reconsider your stance. Even Canty seems to think this is a little stupid.

I'm honestly starting to wonder if Harbaugh has lost the team.

It's not as ridiculous as folks make it sound.  That's all.  One could have said the same for the T-shirts and the signage around the facility...  I don't think so.  Whatever motivates people, motivates people.

"Certainly, it's not one of those things to be overlooked, especially on the defensive side of the ball. Effort to the football is very important."

"It's more of a pride thing for each individual player," Ravens tight end Crockett Gillmore said. "That's just the character of the team. If you want to be a Raven, you're going to fly around and you're going to get to the ball. This proves to everybody that not only does it show up on film but it's going to show up on your locker."

Doesn't sound like they hate it too much.

I agree with you Grim...sounds like a coaching desperation move. To be honest I hadn't really even really considered Harbs as a cause for concern up to this point but he must have hit the panic button and called his brother for some tips.

Ughh No comment. As long as he doesn't make a huge spectacle out of it after each game and just sticks them on the lockers nonchalauntly I guess i don't see anything wrong with it. I guess.

It's pretty absurd. We shouldn't need elementary school tactics to motivate grown men. I don't mind him rewarding effort. If anything I say you motivate these men with rest. Now that's something that will motivate them. Rest and money motivate.

Maybe there's more to this. I'm okay with it if there is. For instance, collect enough stickers and get a day out of practice or whatever. Go home early. That stuff would work. You could even throw out a bonus or something. Give some money if you collect x amount of stickers.

That said, giving grown men stickers alone to reward effort comes off as out of touch and simply condescending. In fact, this is something you could argue may cause locker room issues.

This is ridiculous. He's being exposed. He's not a good coach. He's a cheerleader.

First rid the team of all alpha males. Fill it with soft marshmellow yes men. Proceed to hire bad defensive and offensive coordinators one after another. Intervention was necessary to be saved from another potential bad hire; i.e., Hostettler over Kubiak. History of throwing B level players under the bus while making knee jerk personnel decisions. Arrogance with the soft Baltimore media. Now, lets try treating grown men like children. This has turned into comedy.

You know I had a dream that Harbs got fired and Ozzie, pulled out the Alabama card and  got Nick Saban lmao.

Anyways , Harbaugh could put starting casting dark magic to improve the team , he's safe this year.

Thanks for posting the link, Mom Gene.

He started handing out the yellow, coin-sized decals this week after the Ravens fell to 2-7, which is tied for the second-worst record in the league.

Both offensive and defensive players get the stickers, and quarterback Joe Flacco currently has the most with 32. Some players liken it to high school and college, when you get rewarded with a helmet stickers for hustle plays.

If this just started after the Jags game, how has Flacco gotten so many? Is he trading his fruit rollups or something?

Harbs has always been a glorified cheerleader and as someone who goes beyond his childish philosophy a lot of what he says is utter hogwash as well as lame and i'd actually tell him to shutup if i was a player and to get a grip.
