[News] Lardarius Webb Not Up For Permanent Move To Safety

Yeah, fans don't really want to hear players say anything that hints to an unwillingness to play where the team needs them. No matter the motivation from the player, it just doesn't go over well.

I would argue the defensive line is the most important position on the defense. If your trenches are terrible, it won't matter if you have Revis, Nnamdi, Ed Reed and Polamalu back there. All positions on defense are important as weaknesses can be exploited, however a terrible Dline cripples the foundation of what a defense is trying to accomplish in my opinion.

Your exactly right, its just that a lot of our fellow fans on here don't understand the game of football outside of a fans point of view. The D-line is essential, and that is the real reason why most of our games have been losses.

Even Ray Lewis urged Ozzie and the crew to pick Haloti Ngata so he would be able to move around better. Without a D-line you secondary will get picked apart. Nobody can cover forever, and once a QB knows he can get decent protection then he will get more comfortable and focus more on execution than survival.

SB season, our D-line was Suggs, Ngata, Mcphee, Jones, with a rotation of Kruger. Right now we have a mediocre line at best. No offense to Williams & Jernigan, but you get my point.

Even last season during our playoff run we still had Mcphee & Ngata.

Although nobody knew Suggs would go down, just unfortunate. I believe our guys will get more elite D-lineman in here this offseason.

Why would he not play safety? It will only make him more valuable to the Ravens.

Eventually he'd make less money since safetys generally don't get paid as much as CB's unless they are HOF types like Reed or Troy.

The irony of it is this guy is perhaps the highest paid defensive back in the history of the game if you look at the amount he's played for the amount he's earned. Who cares how much he makes as a safety. He's made more than his share of money doing nothing but warm the benches since 2011...

He spent most of his big contract on IR or just injured so he can't use that excuse.

Webby, hate to break it to you, but you HAVE gotten older. You played FS in college, and have lost a step in the pros due to your many injuries. If the team needs you at FS, continue to collect your CB paycheck, have a coke and a smile and play the damn position.

Who do you put at corner to replace Webb?  Let's see what Brooks can do at FS once he gets the cast off of his thumb.
