They're injured. Not like they arent performing and cant get on the field. What, our scouts are supposed to see injuries that occur 1-3 years after they draft the player?

And the special post of the year award goes to....

How was Elam when he wasn't injured? He can even wrap a burrito

PFT is reporting that next year the NFL is finally going to let teams trade compensatory draft picks to encourage more trades during draft weekend. Once again the Ravens are expecting multiple compensatory picks and may have as many as 11 or 12 picks again this year to work with. With that many picks, Ozzie could be picking twice in the first 20 or so picks especially since he will have number 1 or 2 in the second round he can trade to move up. We could see a killer draft like the Lewis/Ogden draft with what Ozzie may have to work this.

I doubt you can get into the top 20 without swapping a 1st round pick in return. I could be wrong, but I don't recall that happening in the draft anytime recently. You can probably move into the back end of the draft with that, but its still going to cost you at least a second rounder or two, and we won't have multiple second rounders.

I don't think it changes much. You're still picking in the top 5-8 most likely, and the only way we move back into the first round would be to grab somebody in the 25-32 range that we really liked who we thought likely wouldn't fall into the mid-to-late 30s on day two.

Other than that, they'd likely just be used to move up in the middle rounds for a guy we like, which we historically do quite often.

Like I said before rest ALL injured players that will be ravens next year until 100% healthy, play all the young up and comers you can, lose out, draft high and deep, and make this season a write-off. Teams that try to fix it all in the middle of the season continue to be losers season after season. Lets get back to proper RAVEN status aka Super bowl contenders every year.

Not to be a wet blanket on the Special Team's performance, but where does the unit stand on penalties per Special Teams play? Seems like we have to hold our collective breath after each play to see if there is a flag.

Just heard Breshad's presser and will say this... fans need to stop being such jerks. It's clear the guy was reading all the garbage that was being tweeted to him and all the negativity being spewed by childish fans.

Yeah it's an entertainment business and you're a paying consumer and blah blah blah. But these guys aren't some playthings that you treat like objects and throw away when you're no longer interested. They're human beings, and treating them like genuine members of the larger Baltimore family instead of livestock will pay both tangible and intangible benefits down the road when it comes to their motivation to perform and stay loyal to this community.

Unless of course, the Ravens get out of their top 5 pick for a lower 1st rounder + future 1st rounder, and then trade the future 1st rounder to come back with another pick in the 1st. But more importantly, these have been our first 3 picks in each round since the SuperBowl win (I still want to give this year a chance). Elam, Art Brown and Brandon Williams in 2013, Mosley, Jernigan and Terrence Brooks in 2014. These picks need to be solid starters and we are only 50% there.

Not sure about the play count, but we have 12 ST penalties this season, with 10 accepted. We did have 4 against the Jags (three accepted), so that's probably why it seems like we get them often.

Possible, but that doesn't guarantee you'd have two in the top 20 though.

The pick value chart is pretty cut and dry. Hypothetically if we finish with the 4th pick and a team below the 20 pick mark wants to move up then yes, they'd have to toss in next year's 1st and more to do it. Although I don't think we'll want to move down if Bosa somehow falls to us. Losing Sizzle on the edge completely unwound our defense at every level.

Jerry Rosberg is incredibly creative and the play of the special teams units has really impressed me this year. If you look at his resume, he has ranked at the top of the league everywhere he has been. If I were Harbaugh or Biscotti, I would make sure he sticks around. If you see some of the things he draws up, I wouldn't mind him lending a hand to Trestman who could sure use some help...

Breshad Perriman will shock everyone next year. Unfortunate for the start of his career but there are still fans out there that still believe he can carve a huge role in our offense if given the chance and stays healthy.

I really wouldn't reference that as evidence. Its a nice tool in theory, but you're better off looking at historical precedence to make judgments.

There's been several trades recently that didn't come close to matching the trade value chart. I don't think NFL teams actually use this as a basis for anything.

I would put Flacco, Forsett, Gillmore, Yanda, and maybe Juice on IR. Mosley and Brandon Williams too. And then see how the season goes, and enjoy the draft.

Did you watch the last couple games?

I also watched the defense get a facemask penalty and the offense turning the ball over 3 times last game.  Special teams guy makes 2 mistakes all year and you cut him.  He had been returning extremely successfully before that.  Everyone else making mistakes every game and they are fine.  At the end of the day, when you have a team playing bad, everyone ends up playing bad.  We should also cut tucker since he keeps missing field goals the last few games with your logic.

Except not every player is created equal, just like not every mistake is created equal. When you have a track record of outstanding play, your leash is longer, as well it should be. When you don't, your leash is shorter, as well it should be.

At the end of the day, the only real thing a kick returner is responsible for this day and age is not turning the ball over and making sound decisions with the football. I honestly don't care about return yardage or not, because the overwhelming majority of kicks these days require taking a knee or waving your arm in the air, and the only requirement is to catch the football.

For about the last 30 years, which is as long as I've been alive, fumbling the football has been unacceptable by pee-wee football standards. There are better players in this league right now who aren't playing as much because they fumble the ball too much, and they don't play for the Ravens.

Its not a Harbaugh problem.

:point:   Don't know if it was intended but after the Jacksonville game, the irony in today's LFW photo was hilarious, lol.    The referee on the field with his hands up for a TD and the words "Late For Work" smack dab in the middle.  Good one!!!

Franchising Tucker is a no-brainer (in the event they don't work out a long-term deal). Dan Bailey may be the most accurate kicker in NFL history, but he plays a minimum of 8 games per season in a dome, whereas Tucker plays a minimum of 11 games per season outdoors. Given how clutch Tucker has been, I feel comfortable in saying he is the best kicker in the NFL. Took a little while to find the next Stover, but we've got him in Tucker.
