Def. Jimmy. Expected a lot after that first game in Denver. I thought the foot problems were passed him but it is what it is. I just hope he can get back to 100%, and I agree, Wright hasn't been bad lately. I haven't noticed him so thats a good thing.

Voted Webb and its not close.

Lisfrancs can be tough, plenty have not been the same after them.  Maurice James Drew for one.

Still think Jimmy Smith looked good with a consistent pass rush and good safety's behind him.

Jimmy played great against D. Thomas against Denver. He played great. In fact, he played well against Oakland until that TD to Cooper and ever since he's been struggling. I certainly think it's the Lisfranc and confidence.

wasnt the touchdown to cooper like right off the bat on oaklands first drive ? Lol Yeah I guess he did play well until then. Edited by January J

Yeah, it was early but that doesn't take away how well he played against Thomas the week before. It's not like he's a scrub WR.

Webb has actually been our best CB, I can't vote him. Hes still not the CB he used to be but he's hasn't been bad or anything of that nature. I'm unsure if he'll be back here though. I feel as if we'll exhaust every avenue we possibly can.

absolutely untrue. many cb's have switched to safety late in their careers, especially those with lower extremity injuries, it allows them to contribute at a high level while also preserving their knees and ankles at older ages.

also, webb has the skillset to play FS, jimmy not so much, and FS just happens to be a much weaker position on this team than cb, we are desperate for a change at FS and webb is the obvious candidate there, it has nothing to do with his current performance, which has been pretty good for the most part

I like the "for the most part" added in on the end. Not sure if you have watched many games this year, but he has had 1 good game, which was last week, so I guess its easy to assume you watched that one, and are saying he is playing pretty well, or your a big fan of him maybe. Corner back is our worst position on the defensive side of the field, and youll fine many articles about it. The move doesnt come to preserve him, it comes because he isnt speedy anymore and just about everyone blows by him. Not as hard to blow by him when is already lined back at safety

no ive watched every single game this year, matter of fact i havent missed a game since 05 when i was in middle school and boller was still here. and at the beginning of the year i was all aboard the webb hate train, i was sick of seeing him get toasted everytime he came back from an injury, so no im not just some big webb fan, the fact is he is playing much better now than he was at the beginning of the season when he got toasted regularly, he has slowly began to regain some of his old form and while he isnt perfect, he is still playing solid. and if you TRULY think that a combination of jimmy smith and lardarius webb playing at 90% is a bigger liability than kendrick lewis starting at FS in a dean pees defense, then you are severely misguided. youre the type of person who blames a cb for "getting beat deep" in a cover 2 arent you?

I didnt once suggest Leiws over anyone, in fact if you look at my first post, when i said "lesser of two evils," that means, they both are playing horrible, but one is playing less horrible than the other. We are 24th in passing defence, the secondary is bad as a whole. All im saying is, 1 good game with a pick doesnt and shouldnt be classified as a solid performance by him so far this year. If you are looking at it as he has 1 of our amazing 4 INT's this year then yeah thats sweet, but overall no, he needs to step up, along with everyone else

since when are int's the end-all be-all measuring stick for cb's? fun fact, darelle revis has NEVER led the league in int's, despite being the best cb in the league for over half a decade. webb has broken up some passes in impressive fashion, he has been showing his trademark ability to play the ball from awkward positions, he has been able to anticipate targets and stop the completion when pees assigns the proper zone coverage, and hes been able to stay in the wr's pocket in man coverage for the most part.

the only thing you can ask for more of from webb, is consistency, he has had hiccups, but with dean pees calling broken coverage schemes and zero pass rush EVERYONE has had hiccups. but webb has been a bright spot and a pleasant surprise in our horrid secondary, and after taking a paycut because he knew he hadnt lived up to his contract, and stepping up the way he has, he deserves some applause. jimmy smith gets a pass for his lisfranc injury, why doesnt webb get a pass for 2 torn acl's and lower back injuries for the past 2 years? jimmy is getting beat deep often, in man coverage he hasnt been able to turn his hips and run downfield, webb has, jimmy hasnt been able to break and explode into shorter routes like slants and hooks, webb has, jimmy is still playing good press when he gets the chance and he is still showing superb ball skills in the redzone against bigger guys, but he has struggled in a season where webb has been regaining his old form, interception stats will NEVER tell the whole story for cb's, especially when nobody on the team is getting them.

also, you said, verbatim, that cornerback is the weakest position on this team, also told me to read articles about it. i dont need half-informed articles written by talking heads in the media to tell me that webb and jimmy smith are getting beat deep, however you maybe need to brush up on coverage scheme concepts so you can point the finger in the right direction when the safety doesnt play the deep zone hes supposed to and leaves a wide open sideline.

At this point I feel like your picking out 1 word out of what i say and are jumping on it, so I am done. Just for giggles though if you look at what I actaully said, I said "if  YOU(that means not me) are looking at it as," and that translated to me saying INTs were everything lol

you literally just said webb is not playing good this season because he has only 1 int lol

This is a good one. If asked a couple weeks ago. I would have said Webb was done and U could stick a fork in him. In the last couple weeks, he's looked a lot better. He's still not as fast as he used to be but he's playing better. I'll stick with Jimmy though as to who has had the best year so far. I think he has been dealing with the psychological side of the injury as much as the physical side of the lisfranc foot injury. I also think its behind him now and he'll be fine once the foot has fully healed. He's regaining his pre-injury 2014 form and swagger. The solo open-field tackle he made against the Jags on a swing pass was awesome. An injury free season and another full offseason is just what the doctor ordered. Can't wait to see him develop into the shutdown corner everyone expects him to be.
