[News] Ravens Get Taste Of New-Look Passing Game

49 posts in this topic

I like Givens and hope we keep him through next season. I think we need to continue to utilize our young TEs more but NEW LOOK passing offense? Isnt it more accurate to say - Make Shift Passing offense or Replacement Players Passing Offense or Strike Season Passing offense or something like that ? NEW LOOK passing offense..... that's too funny!

Yeah Flacco passed to 10 different receivers but that pressing need to feed a lot of passes to Kamar was an overkill. You take whats given to you. The play could be designed for Kamar but another receiver is probably in a better situation on that play to score or have YAC. I would like to see more of a balance attack than anything.

I'm a fan of Givens. I actually believe he can be a great tool in our offense for the future. I also believe he'll do what he needs to make it back and be crucial in next season's offense as well.

We should've been using double te from the beginning of the season because we lacked talent at the wr position. Givens will definitely be a good number three wr for us. Marlon brown is a wrap after this yr an we definitely need to bring in a veteran wr next year even if Steve smith comes back.

Aiken is not our long term answer, I would start Butler, Givens and Morgan going forward to see who's going to be invited back next season.

Funny that Flacco is on pace to easily pass the 4000 plus passing mark for the first time with a bunch of scrubs.....People stopped ragging on our WR corp, considering the injuries, and cuts they are doing a pretty good job....

I feel like our offense would be really great, if we'd have a well rounded go-to receiver for Joe. I actually like what Trestman and Flacco are doing with the offense. We just don't have the personel to get the most out of it.

a real deal go to wr that is not 36 years old, a healthy perriman and a better running game will make this offense top 8 next season along with  sss and givens would make this receiver crew solid but we need to find that aj green, julio jones physical receiver

Our Most productive line up would be a two TE set using Gilmore and Boyle as our TEs. Then splitting Maxx out like we used to do with Todd Heap. Givens would be our # 1 WR and the rest of the cast can fill in wherever!

Bring SSS back, bring Givens back. I hope Perriman will be healthy next year and bring in another WR (preferably via the draft but with our luck there maybe a FA is better). Then you add in our 3 TEs and Juice / Forsett out of the backfield and we really could have a potent offense next year. (assuming Perriman /SSS are healthy). Givens makes a nice addition (not as a #1 or #2) but in combo with a healthy Perriman / SSS and whatever other legit starter that we add next season.

Putting aside Perriman for next year, our receiving corps isn't the absolute worst in the league but it's just not great either, just serviceable enough IMO. Our TE corps, however, are pretty solid based on what I've seen.

Draft Laquonn Treadwell WR Ole Miss... the kid reminds me of a young Terrell Owens (minus the off the field issues and headcase). He is NFL ready and a big target. Love to see us target Treadwell. Treadwell would also compliment Perriman nicely and give us two giant weapons moving forward!

We need to consider letting Monroe Go! Some FA T on the market this season 1. Bobby Massie Az 2. Jake Long Atl 3. Cordy Glenn Buf 4. Andre Smith Cin 5. Russell Okung Sea... all of these would be an upgrade there and especially if we lose KO on that side... we are going to want to upgrade. (I think Urschel can step in and play but replacing Monroe may go a long way to stabeling our OL)!

i would give christine michael a look. nothing to lose at this point.

With 4 Rb's on the current roster it doesn't make sense. He was released by the NFC version of the Ravens to boot

A few other FA's for next year that would be on the Christmas list: 1. Mark Barron S- Stl 2. Vinny Curry -OLB -Phil 3. Janorius Jenkins -CB-Stl 4. Leon Hall -CB- Cin 5. Alshon Jeffery -WR-Chic 6. Matt Forte -RB- Chic (with Langford looking great Forte is probably gone in Chic and with the ties to Trestman both Forte and Jeffery move up the wish list)!

Flacco is doing a superb job of making below average WR's look decent. Can only imagine if Flacco actually had an arsenal of weapons to throw to.

The best thing our staff can do right now is pre-plan on which positions they want to address by the draft and which players they think they can get via free agency this offseason.

Other than that they should just finish the season with the guys we have now and see who has what it takes to be a Raven moving forward.

In reference to that Mailbag video, I wouldn't say we are cursed this season. We just have a huge lack of playmakers but more importantly, a huge lack of leadership.

Without top-flight WR's that can make plays (getting open and catching the ball and YAC), we don't have a team. You cannot tell the other team that you're going to run the whole game because you have no feared weapons out wide. It doesn't work now or ever. With our luck with receivers, drafted or other-wise (keeping good one's like Boldin) I'd say we draft 3 or more WR's in the draft next year. We're so snake-bitten in that area, I don't think we have a chance anyways, but we need to try, somehow and if we don't stockpile WR's in the draft, we need to trade to get a GOOD one before next July, a veteran, good WR, and keep him if he pans out, for heaven's sake!
