[News] Ravens Sign Three Players To Active Roster

106 posts in this topic

I like the moves. It is beneficial to try out as many candidates as possible which is pro-rated. Looks like their finally listening. Ross's dismissal is a head scratcher because he did provide a spark in the return game aside from the fumble. I'd would have at least put him on the practice squad as a warning shot. Harbaugh's double standards should be addressed this off season. Vet's have made equal if not more mis cues then some of these rookies in key situations of any given game. To lay blame solely at the feet of the rookies is shameful. Most recruits that may be un-drafted (post draft) would/should factor that into their decision to accept an offer here or take their chances elsewhere. If it's me looking at his total impatience, I'm going elsewhere. The doghouse doesn't win loyalty or games. Tomlin looks like a mean SOB but his methods also seem quite different then Coachspeakers. Cutting players you really haven't developed before thrusting into the fire pit solidifies my thoughts that it you and your coaches failing them and not the other way around. Practice squad long periods for some and ax immediately for others. That's a bad look. No matter how you slice it. The Ravens have kept some of the same players (duds) on their practice for years. Back and forth, forth and back. I will say maybe this means they have seen the error of their ways and have seen the value of moving on from a slow developing prospect/project into realtime/need based developments and projects. If the cost of a Ross is any indication, then I'm all for it. If not then it's thinly vailed and self serving. And to be honest it kinda looks like they are making an attempt to save some of them dare jobs………Yah think.

Ross really cost us in that game so he had to go. As far as the rest of the moves I don't think they will make much difference. As I have said they need to cut down on the mistakes. Every loss has been because of mistakes. Too many mistakes cost games. Even Joe, my favorite player, has made his share of mistakes. He having his best year stat-wise but it's not helping. Interceptions at the wrong time. Ok give me my negs....

laugh out loud! I am just besides myself in dismay at our year. I feel for the team. I feel for me. I feel for all of us that have endured this abysmal year so far. Try to finish strong Ravens. But not so strong that we slip back into the 20s when picking next year!!!

You've posted this on multiple stories so I think you are not really a fan. Are you really willing to throw away a 84-51 career record with multiple playoff wins over a bad half season? Some perspective helps...unless you are not really a fan.

My first thought, Do we really need another tight end? We have three young tight ends that are doing amazing, Why take up the spot on the roster? Also, I'm slightly disappointed about cutting Ross, yeah losing the returner job is understandable but he showed some promise as a receiver against the chargers, more then Marlon Brown has shown this season. Just my opinions though, I'm not expert by any means.

Welcome to the team Larry, Moe, and Curly. Won't bother learning your names as you won't be around long enough to make it worthwhile and will be replaced by another three stooges Ozzie will grab from the Dollar Store while he's out buying some candy before a movie.

This is a real possibility. At some point , as much as we love Ozzie...the lack of production (or even being on the field) by our first, second and third round picks has to be dealt with. Outside of Mosely and, Osemele the picks are failing. Cody, Elam, Brooks, Kindle,  A.Brown, Reid, Pierce, Oher all flops. Upshaw is decent but not second round quality.

Asa is gone again? He will we replace his key fumbles, stupid penalties, and terrible pass coverage??

:P  heaven help us.

still scratching my head over why we brought him back in the first place - how many chances has he gotten at this point? the definition of insanity.

Sooooo Asa Jackson couldn't pull the "IR-save my job" trick a third time. Anyway he was sent packing after the Giants looked at him for two days and should have never been back IMO. This does speak to Ozzie's failure to address the returner roles early on when we had the chance.

Chase Ford has looked decent when I've seen him play for the Vikings. But if we were looking for sign a TE, I'd have been much more excited if we signed Joseph Fauria. 7 receiving TDs in his rookie season and now a FA - he'd at least have been a real threat in the red zone.

For Ross, not only was it the miss but he way he missed. He lost focus on the ball (probably peeking up-field) and then chose not to get under the ball opting to catch a punt outside of his shoulder ( a cardinal sin even when a FC is called). You knew he was done when they sat him and inserted Butler.

Face it! Ozzie has run this team into the ground financially. Steve did not get rich by hiring people to run his organizations into the ground. Like Ray said "Every beginning has a end". http://espn.go.com/blog/nflnation/post/_/id/162593/why-ravens-rank-second-in-nfl-in-dead-money

you seem pretty slow.

there are ways to find the current state and even the future stats in regards of the dead money situation....

More dead money!

Neither Ross or Jackson cost us anything in dead money. They are both are UFA after 2015 and both were cheap to begin with.   We're good in that respect.

Also, the only person besides Harbs that i would want coaching this team is Ray--- I feel like he would be an amazing coach and would really bring the best out of each player and bring leadership--- wish ESPN never signed him

Doesn't matter what you think. And that 84-51 career record is the majority of Ray Lewis's work. Your in denial bro. I see things for what its worth, while you just take whatever bone they give you.

You just disagree with my opinion, that's all. Questioning someones loyalty to their franchise is unnecessary

Why do we need to add another TE to the roster? Are we fans not being told something, again?

Probably just going to use him on special teams. We just cut two special teamers.
