Countdown to Joey Bosa

209 posts in this topic

I'm hearing Bosa reported as being the #1 overall according to many analysts. I just really think the odds of us picking #1 overall (or even top 3, should some QB desperate team pass on him) is very low. Based on that, it seems unlikely that he'll be a Raven. We'll likely be looking at those guys who are a bit past him in the big board.

I mean the odds really aren't that low. However I would like to believe we will finish ahead of Cleveland.

Apparently scouts see him as a little overrated by the public. Not that they think he's bad, but more of a top five kinda guy than a clear-cut #1 pick.

While i completely agree with everything you said, the part i bolded is the issue with us drafting WRs when our WR scouting department is obviously not very good.  Its harder for us to draft a WR late and develope him, rather than drafting a WR thats more pro-ready or via FA.  I think its no question we go Defense, unless we go OL

but the part you bolded is the good news. the stereotype for a first round WR these days is 6'3", running a 4.4, with a wingspan like a pterodactyl, and everything else is seen as a "mid round talent" unless youre talking about cooks or dorsett or austin.

a guy like tyler boyd wouldnt need to be developed by us, he is already a very refined, pro-ready wr, who very well could fall to the 2nd because hes not blazing fast. corey coleman falling to the 2nd would be a solid pick for us as well, he plays big and feisty but because hes 5'10" and isnt as fast as short wr's of the past few years, he will slide, but he has a distinct advantage over those guys of being able to play much bigger and being physical with great ball skills.

some of the early 2nd wr's this year are the exact type of players that could come in and defy the stereotypes of ravens wr's

High IQ, rangy, know how to adapt with changing schemes. He is undersized and had trouble tackling. He isn't top 5 material. If we tade back, then he is an option.

ramsey undersized? wut.

wrong wording...he doesn't tackle very well.   anyone that will ram him hard and has size  in NFL will whiff him out.   he needs to bulk up.  not necesarily gain weight, but know how to stand tall vs.  incoming traffic.

well hes not a linebacker and not a box safety so i dont know how much traffic we'll expect him to be dealing with, and hes actually very physical and he breaks down and wraps up well, and can even stack and shed against wr's and TE's on the outside when he needs to step up in run support. im not sure what youre saying there... but i do agree that he could stand to add another 5 lbs or so of muscle, but that tends to be the case with every college player.

If we got Bosa, Ramsey or VH3I and Coleman slipped into the second and we grabbed him I would be so happy.

We stick to the best player available philosophy no more desperate WR gambles. The old lady is a die hard buckeye fan so I have been forced to watch about every o-h game and Joey would be the best player if available at any point  in the top 5 it appears so far. If that changes we still have 2 or 3 strong top 5 options

I lean towards Bosa right now out of every prospect. Though I do believe its in the best interest of this team that we pick a WR in the 2nd.

On the bright side...we truly can simply take the highest ranked player, because regardless of what position he plays, it's a need for us (other than QB/RG obviously)

I honestly don't know enough about the college players to give an opinion but position wise I know we need DB's, WR's, Pass rushers and O-line/D-line depth. From next years draft.

WR,,,, please,,, we can always draft a good defense  .

its offense we have a problem with , if we are top 5 trade back stockpile some picks,,, get  a true #1 ,, parlay a couple of those picks into the future,,,

Which WR do you want at #1? I am not hearing or reading about this year being a stout draft for elite WR's. Is there an AJ Green or Julio Jones type of #1 receiver worthy of a top 10 pick in the 2016 NFL Draft?

That's because you're usually wrong :P

Haha coming from someone who is kissing an Iguana that one made come Laugh Out Loud. Aren't you the one that was waving the Ray Rice Pom Pom talking about how we couldn't cut him because of all the dead cap space. Yes you are that guy.

Tyler Boyd is special. Sorta of like a bigger and faster Anquan Boldin.

Whelp another win today. We don't have a shot at him now

If the draft were today we'd be picking fifth, since we have the tiebreaker "over" the Lions. That and I can't see us winning anything else with Schaub at the helm.

aahhhhh, no

there is no WR worthy of that honor , I have always said if BOSA is there take him, but we need a WR in the 2nd ,,,, I think we should trade back and stockpile some pics, I mean if you really think about it who is coming out this year that will garner all the attention,,, nobody,,,

It's time to go get another cornerstone player.....Mosley seems to be the next in line and we have alot of young defensive talent....one more and we should be ready.

We need a RB for the future. Justin F is nice, but he isn't it.

Monroe or Hurst will end Joe's career. Now that he will have a surgically repaired Knee the pick is obvious.
