Asa Jackson put on IR and Jeremy Ross cut

If they were to cut Lewis, it would have to be after June 1st. Ravens would save $800K according to Over the Cap.

not the point I'm making. He's making an example out of Ross, when other people made even bigger mistakes, just because he's the easy target.

If you want to make an example, have some balls and cut someone that will actually make oher players stand up and take notice, not players like Ross and babin, or else don't cut anyone at all for 1 mistake, that wasn't the reason we even lost the game.

After what we saw this past weekend, you didn't need to consult a clairvoyant to predict these moves.

The only problem with this is mainly salary concerns but this worked last year when we cut Framks and Chucky Brown last year but this looks a little too late plus there was no future for these guys anyway.

What is going on with the organization? Panic, knee jerk decisions, personnel turnover, inefficiency on the field, bad talent evaluation, draft busts, bad contracts, injuries. I no longer look for wins on Sundays. I'm looking to see what dysfunction arises this week.

All these personnel moves have to be depressing for the players. Seriously, if losing isn't enough to kill morale, watching teammates get thrown under the bus and released has to be a killer.

I wouldn't have cut anyone. Can't single out one guy on this team of misfits this season. Everyone has played their part in the collective sucking.

agree entirely. If your going to pin the blame on one guy, and then cut him and hoped it gives the rest of the team that much needed kick up the butt, it can't be a back up receiver/punt returner and an OLB (babin) that between them probably weren't even on the roster a month.

Well to be fair it was 2. lol. but the cutting of Ross surprised me.

I'm not surprised Asa is gone, but Ross is kind of surprising.  I thought he at least had enough value as a WR to keep around, regardless of return ability or not.

We also signed Casius Vaughn.  He was pretty exciting to watch in pre season.  I look forward to seeing what he can do in a real game.

Ross was good as a returner the whole season but he makes ONE mistake and gets cut?!.... THEN to replace him you fill his roster space with....ANOTHER TIGHTEND!!! Then you put the other returner(Asa) on IR. The FO is imploding.

this was pretty much the second time he has made a mistake that arguably directly cost us the game. I'd also rather have a guy that makes smart decisions and never muffs the ball even if he never returns the ball for over 20 yards. Also glad we brought Vaughn back- kind of thought he should have made the roster in the first place.

Housekeeping....

Ravens placed C Jeremy Zuttah on injured reserve with a torn pectoral, ending his season.

Zuttah went down in the Week 10 loss to the Jaguars. John Urschel will take over as the Ravens' starting center the rest of the way. Zuttah turns 30 next June and was signed to an extension through 2018 when Baltimore acquired him from the Bucs in March of 2014. Prior to going down, Zuttah had graded out as PFF's No. 8 center, excelling both in the run and pass games.

I'd simply rather have a guy who doesn't turn the ball over and gets basically zero good returns than a guy who runs a punt for 30-40 yards and muffs the next one.

We don't need great ST returns to win... you just can't have bad ST play. And when you turn the ball over on ST, its bad ST play.

THIS.  Didn't the Chargers have the #1 off and def one year, but missed the post season because of how PUTRID their ST was?

Sure did. Went 9-7 that year.

That's unfortunate.  I just read somewhere that he was 2nd in consecutive games played by an interior linemen w/ 60+!
