[News] Eisenberg: Ravens Not Good Enough For Late-Season Run

28 posts in this topic

Such Bull. The refs blew the call but I guess everyone believes that all the penalty calls were correct. More Bull. 9 against the Ravens 4 against the Jags More Bull.I think we all need to face the facts that the NFL is just not very honest. Only 7 more games that the NFL will have a chance to screw the Ravens. That us until the schedule comes out next year and we start with 8 games on the road.....

I'm fine with 8 games on the road. That means are last 8 will be at home.

Schedule always balances itself out.

How about on the second Flacco INT Givens just stood there and didn't even make an attempt on the ball!!! Wheres the effort? Get some young hungry guys that are willing to work OZ, not some overrated scrubs that are injury prone and could give 2 craps

Sorry about length, I'm going to keep it to one line blurbs. First, once again, I thought we had the talent to win the game. I think the offensive play calling is hurting this team. Flacco is not perfect, we know that, but we are asking him to do more than he is able to do. You can't do that with your franchise qb. We need to run so we can wear the opposing line down. That is what we have always done. Saying they are stacking the box just means more will get worn down sooner. Kendrick Lewis should be cut before Jackson and Ross and Webb should fill that safety spot. He has a lot of ball skills but has lost a step due to injuries and he played safety in college so he has a history. What do you do with Asa Jackson? Let him return punts, that way he cant block anybody in the back if he is running with it. Make sure he knows first fumble is last play in a Ravens uniform. Block punts and return kicks, that's all Asa should be allowed to do. Jeremy Ross already exhibited butter fingers before this weekend, I don't see him hanging around. Once again, woulda, shoulda, coulda and even the refs got in on this one. I bet Ozzie has got his scouts working overtime.

one problem on offense imo is when kubiack was hired he brought in about 4 of his assistants that knew his offense front to back. when he left he took them all with him and enter trestman who did not bring in any of his guys because harbaugh hired the assistants to replace kubiacks assistants. trestman has to teach these new assistants his playbook and personally i do not believe harbs has done a great job when hiring position coaches. still do not understand how this o-line and running game went from top 5 to the bottom half in one season when the same personnel is here aside from kubiack. sure monroe has missed a few games but he missed a few games last year and we still ran the ball well. the problem on defense imo is pees is not the right guy to coach organized chaos and sure he does not have leaders like ray ed suggs and ngata but this defense has not shown any improvement all year long and the stupid penalties are a reflection of poor coaching and position coaches that are not getting through to their players because they are not good teachers or they are teaching poor technique. another issue imo is the front office has dropped the ball on some high draft picks and they let some younger players go that they maybe should have kept. if either mcphee or kruger were resigned than we would have a better pass rush with suggs out. sure kruger and mcphee are not lighting it up on their new teams but they were good in this system. olb john simon whom the fo released after 1 season has put up some solid #'s with the texans this season. 31 tackles and 3 sacks. oh well at least we will have a top 5 pick that im sure ozzie will trade away. changes/improvements must be made in the front office as well as with the coord/position coaches before next season.

Toughest loss I remember in a long time -but, the offense should have played aggressive to get Tuck in field goal range on the last drive (would have sealed the game); Lewis should never have dropped the INT right in his hands; of course, Doom shouldn't have committed the facemask - Bortles was already going down. History now; time to move on (on many fronts).

John doesn't care about the refs. IF that is the attitude then this game will continually get worse. The NFL will never ever listen to the fans. But they will listed to head coaches and owners.

when is this team going to get play makers to help our qb . not a bunch of castoff that none of the other teams in our division would even want. next years draft may be the most important in team history they cannot screw it up.

Flacco's 2 picks and a fumble were awful, especially the first one where Aiken should've had it but let it float in the air. Still, even despite that it was early enough in the 2nd half for us to still win, if only we scored SOMETHING on that last drive. Or if we get that pick.

I am really tired of hearing how this team will "use this for motivation" this is the least motivated Ravens team that I have ever seen...where is the pride in the purple? We get more penalties in one game then the Patriots have had all year...that is about discipline and pride...this is a disgusting year and, while I like John Harbaugh as a coach, you have to question where the discipline and motivation has gone?

That game should have been a win but it may turn out to be the difference in getting the guy we really want in the draft and having to settle for the next best CB, DE or WR on the board.

Well said, Mr. E. We are our own worst enemy, and if we had gone into the fourth quarter ahead by 20, no one would care what the officials did on the last play. If Lewis had caught the ball that was IN HIS HANDS, there IS NO LAST PLAY.

Just some hard numbers here. I know we can do a deep dive to further explore the meaning of these in the context if each individual team, but it's just interesting to look at. The source is Over The Cap.

They struggled against a squad they should have put away in the first half. We can pick it apart all week but they just don't have the horses to scrutinize their short comings.

The referees blew it with the call, but more importantly the Ravens blew it all game long. It was a fight of two teams not wanting to win the game. Eventually the Ravens simply had more will to lose.

As much as this officiating problem in general should not be a big deal, and we definitely don't want our games to be close enough that a blown call can make the difference. I watch every play in slow motion during comercial breaks, and

the officiating has not been evenly bad for both side in many of our games.

This leads me to believe there is more to the whole picture. With very convoluted rules that leave much to interpretation by officials, whom don't seam to always remember them, many games can have points shaved and even complete outcomes turned around!

This is a much bigger deal than the hardness of Brady's balls !

Yet, it seams like business as usual at NFL HQ.

We need to stand against this treatment as fans, make noise until it is a big deal !

The fact that teams aren't even allowed to complain about officiating is a big problem..!

Since JE is the Ravens' Minister of Propaganda, let's translate this article's message. Ravens were denied the game because they are not good enough to make a playoff chase, but Jacksonville is since their division sucks. If you go to NFL.com you will find them pomping and pumping 20 different teams now, which is more $$$ for them with the 65% revenue sharing. Its all about selling the playoff chase now. Ravens have officially been triaged and JE is in charge of getting us to accept it.

Not quite as good as his "I like Ray Rice" piece but good enough to let us know what is going on with the proper reading filter in place.

Likely why Perriman was shut down this same day, no race, let's get someone who can play up now instead of waiting on a maybe for a last ditch playoff run which won't come now.

Excellent post, the difference is the Steelers started this process about 3-4 years ago, we have not really started rebuilding and were trying to keep going. Maybe you could argue we started it in the last 1.5 years.

I bet if Ray Lewis came to the field that might've fired up everyone enough to prevent this from happening.

Can he give a pep talk to the refs?

As to Ravens defense, they play tough. They just play stupid - bonehead penalties.

Seriously, at what point do teams stop giving the refs a pass on their pathetic performances? I'd be screaming and pointing out their errors every chance I could, especially with how poorly they've been this year!

"Not good enough for a late season run"? That's pretty clear... how about bad enough to get Joey Bosa? That's the question.

Why if we need 5 yrds to get a 1st down we throw a 2 yrd pass doesn't make sense to me. We do that all the time.

What is sad is that the 2 yard passes arnt even like screens most the time, just a pass of 0-2 yards. Bengals blow my mind watching them, since they are local to me i see almost every game. Dalton will throw for 300 yards in a game, more than half of the yards comming off screens...why it works for them and not us......idk
