[News] NFL Spokesman: Ravens Should Have Won

Side note - Saints just fired Rob Ryan. Won't happen, but it would be interesting to fire Pees and hire Ryan, just to shake things up for the rest of the year. Amazing how fast the Saints' D has fallen over the past couple of years - 4th in 2013, now dead last.

He's a downgrade from Pees...

Yup, there's a reason he's had a couple of different jobs...  Cowboys, Saints, etc.

Might be a blessing in disguise, actually. One more win wouldn't realistically take us within shooting distance of a playoff-spot, so now we have two legit goals for the season left: to beat the steelers again, and to get the best possible draft position. This L, even if it was totally unfair, still pushed us one notch closer to the second one. Let's face it: we beat a steelers that missed Roethlisberger and had no legit replacement, and a Chargers that lost about 7-8 players due to injury during the game... Otherwise, we lost to the now 2-8 Browns and would have only just beaten the Jags who should be 2-7 now - and both of these games at home. Sorry, but just about every sign seems to point towards the 2016 Ravens being this bad. Happens. And that's why we'll need the best realistically possible draft position (I still think it's gonna be in the #4-8 region) - we'll need major uverhauls at least at 3 positions: WR, secondary and pass rush. And all three are expensive positions, ones we have no realistic chance to patch up on the free agent market - we have nowhere near enough cap space for that. Ergo, we will possibly need at least one WR and one pass rusher/CB/S from the draft, who's ready to contribute week#1.

Ryan has been fired because his D was even more attrocious than our current D. And that's the same reason the Cowboys fired him.

Are you sure we'd need such a guy as our DC?

Amongst hundreds of other plays that determine the outcome of the game...

Lets reverse them all!

With most bad calls, you can't technically prove what "would have happened" if the correct call had been made. In this case, we know for sure what would have happened, since the call should have ended the game. In all of those cases, not just Ravens games, they should correct the error. The whole point is to make the game as fair as possible.

But there's nothing unfair occurring... the officials just made a mistake, just like the Ravens players did.

That's not a question of fairness.

NFL needs to train referees more. They need to fine referees for making costly mistakes. Give teams an extra penalty and be able to challenge everything. Three time outs means there should be three challenge flags. Most teams wouldn't use all three and would barely stretch out the game any longer. Only way to fix this situation.

This is pay back for exposing New England, that's what it feels like, just count the bad calls on the Ravens, then look at other teams! The refs that called the playoff game shouldn't be able to ref. a nother game!

If the NFL see it is a bad call and know we should have won they should be able to turn it around and give us the win. These refs should be fired if anyone did their job so poorly they would be fired. Maybe if they would be fired they would get the call right the first time. There are a lot of rules on the players should be on the refs also!!

Teams should be able to have challenge flags for calls made by Refs that could change the outcome of games. We have cameras all over the field and only a hand full of refs. So let a head coach throw a challenge flag for penalties and have the play reviewed from the replay booth.

State your sources for these claims. If you can't do that, you shouldn't have made them.

You say state your sources, clearly a dim light bulb in the box. I say an illegally good play, then reference to the game when Flacco should have gotten the call for being horse collared but didn't, he was clearly outside of the box. And you say state your sources, get your awareness back in the game.

The NFL admits the Ravens should have won the game--easy to fix nullify the last play and declare the Ravens as winners. Short of that, don't say anything and move on. Ridiculous to admit your wrong with no consequences.

I will never, ever accept an apologies from a NFL referee because just that alone never changes the outcome of a game. Just I like won't from a Drunk Driver who killed one of my loved ones in court because it doesn't bring them back.
