[News] NFL Spokesman: Ravens Should Have Won

136 posts in this topic

People are saying that we were robbed, and maybe so, but if we keep letting the other team stay in the game and keeping it close by committing stupid penalties, there's not much that's going to change, because we blew a lot of these games on our own by committing penalties and letting the other team continue the drive. The defense stays on the field entirely too long and the offense is not on the field long enough and can't put enough points on the board to blow anyone out!!!

the defense blew the game.. again.. pure and simple.. here's and idea.. pagano is probably done coaching after the season so no getting him back.. but Rob Ryan just got canned from NO.. mostly due to issues he had little control over (when you ask a DC to throw away half his plays due to wanting simplicity.. what do you expect?) he has the pedegree to make a top defense out of baltimore again if allowed to do his thing.. if there were a better replacement for pees' passive sissy style, i don't see it.

This is all Rigged! NFL has it out for the Ravens because we told on New England!! Why can't you see this? Roger Goodell and Robert Kraft are buddy buddy in this whole debacle, who started this whole deflate gate in Indianapolis... Baltimore Tipping off Indianapolis and the NFL front office about the pressure in the ball. Why am I the only person who is saying this, connect the dot's...

The refs told Lewis if he catch the interception they'll call him on illegally making a good play, those darn refs. I hear they told Flacco if he doesn't turn the ball over at least three times that they would allow late hits on him and horse collar tackles outside of the pocket. The NFL front office are gangsters...

NFL football is really just a shell of a sport now. It's more interested in profit than integrity. The best thing the NFL could have done here was reverse the final outcome of the game because it was their highly paid and woefully incompetent officials who took the game away from the Ravens because they didn't know the rules! I love my Ravens but if I were the owner of the team, I'd be catching a plane to NewYork, head to NFL Headquarters, and have a loud conversation with the Commissioner. This is truly a travesty. Once again, shame on the NFL!

That's why you need a crushing Defense. So they can make them pay and punish the opposing team and win despite the Refs bad calls. That's the way I remember the 2000 Ravens. We punished people and had our own justice.

Someone is probably gonna write an article about this but if you use OverTheCap's figures we rank 6th in official dead money. But if you combine the technical dead money with the de facto dead money of guys on IR we leapfrog to the top of the list with somewhere around 35 million plus worth of talent missing. It's interesting because ESPN showed graphics today that said all of the Bengals starters combined have missed only 8 games. Suggs alone has missed more than all the starters of Cincy combined. Nevermind Perriman, Pitta, SSS etc.

Another crap excuse for playing poorly. Ok, so the ref blew the final call. If the Ravens had played a good team, their own penalties and turnovers would have put the game out of reach. As it was, they played a team that is as incompetent as they are. In a game between two awful teams, someone is gonna win and the other will lose. It is a coin toss as to which of them plays worse. On this day the Ravens did.

Love or hate the saints but at least they have the stones to fire a coach (Ryan) unlike us. How is it possible after being 2-7 that trestman or Pees still have a job?

The NFL is rigged on occasion (biased officals because of money or who knows)  the NFL is as corrupt a sit gets. But this is not a conspriacy against the ravens, You act like the NFL is competent enough to rig a game when it can't even punish players or gets its policies right. Roger goodell is not buddy-buddy with Robert kraft otherwise Ballghazi would never have been an issue. Goodell suspended brady, Fined the patriots, Took away draft picks. That's not something a friend does....Ever. We didn't tip off indianapolis because the balls were FINE in our game. harbaugh probaly told pagano to watch out for the trick plays aka ineligble you know the thing. You're the only person to connect these dots because it makes NO SENSE.

it's not trestman I mean Steve smith, Perriman, Half the o-line have been injured or underachieved this year. Dean pees is a solid DC but he can't fix everything....Pees will probaly be fired as a scapegoat after this year (maybe) firing a coach mid-season is a good way to piss of the locker room. We're not gonna win this year so why bother? If pees isn't brought back we'll bring in a DC or promote from within. Coordinators can only do so much, it's the players and STUPID plays more than anything. (See half of every stupid pentalty) and the horrible turnovers. I don't blame flacco for the INTs cause his recievers are....Lacking and he has to force some throws.

I can't argue with injuries but every team deals with injuries. It isn't an excuse. Stupid plays ARE a valid reason. Stupid plays come from a lack of discipline and discipline is directly attributed to the coaching staff. Pees said it himself a couple weeks ago when he said they were inconsistent. This is on the DC.

i was more than pleased on the play of our defense.....They did a great job of keeping the Jags in check with all the turn-over blunders by our offense and ST.....

PFF should start breaking down officiating the same way they look at and grade players.

Look at every play, for any penalties that should have been called, or ones that were called wrong. Maybe when it comes to light how some teams are being screwed while others are being ellivated by the Zebras, they will have to make some drastic changes at NFL headquarters. I for one, am getting less and less interested in watching games that are hard fought, only to be snatched away from teams by blind offials, or worse crooked offials !

I hear the rhetoric from the team and the nfl, but the fact is there are just too many lousy calls by the officials in game after game to deny there is something else going on. When you see officials blatantly call penalties against one team while ignoring the same identical penalties by the other team something is amiss. I'd like to see an investigation into the gambling going on. How do we know, for instance officials aren't betting on games or even fantasy betting while officiating the games? Money talks. Something is foul in the air.

I refuse to believe that all this misfortune against us is a coincidence. No, I'm not saying NFL is fixing games against us, I just truly believe that destiny has something brewing for us.

Just think about our season for a second:

tons of mistakes by the refs that went against us, at least 2 which directly cost us the game;

super weird turnovers that have shifted the momentum against us (remember that Flacco fumble against the Steelers? Ok, we won that game, but 1st, how does that fumble even happen to a vet QB, and 2nd, what the heck kind of a bounce was that?!);

huge mistakes by savvy players that cost us big plays;

tons on injuries, some of which are very uncommon in the first place.

All of this happening yet again and again every game makes me seriously wonder that there has to be a reason behind all this. I mean, the mathematical probability of all these things happening to one and the same team every week are pretty much as high as our chances of making the playoffs at this point. So it's really hard for me to believe that all this is a coincidence and happening for no good reason.

And now consider this: 2016 NFL draft is projected by some to be one of the weakest in years. If you don't have a top 10 draft pick, you might not get a solid, plug-and-play starting caliber player even in the first round.

Maybe it's my optimistic ignorance, but I like to think that all of our misfortunes this year has got something to do with bigger and better things ahead for us. And one of those things could be that we need to finish in the gutter of the league this year so we could draft next HoF GOAT player (I believe Joes Bosa is currently predicted for us?), while most other teams might even struggle to find much talent at all.

Again, this might be just my stupid naivety trying to find a bigger explanation for us sucking so bad, and it probably is, but at least it's a thought that helps you get through another miserable Sunday.

Officiating has been SO BAD this year, we got screwed against the Raiders and Cardinals as well. Officiating has 100% cost this team 3 wins this year. Shameful. The league needs a total referee overhaul this offseason, new mandatory training to clean up the blown calls. Injuries and poor officiating has derailed this team in a huge way.

Well, as I see it, the more losses we can rack up this year, the better draft pick we can get. Oz et. al. have their work cut out for them this year, and next, bringing our team back to the playoff caliber levels we've grown accustomed to.

I for one remember the years we struggled. There have been many of them in the past 20 years. Honestly, it hasn't been too long ago we felt this way. I'm sure there is a stats guru on here that can remind us of the last losing season. I say it all of the time, "We can only cheer on our players". Ozzie is the ultimate GM, and will right the ship with the proper players. Stay the course RavensNation! It feels to most on here the officiating is horrible. Well, it's horrible across the league. It just feels worse here because we are struggling to find ways to win.

I tell my son's lacrosse teams all of the time, "Do your job and score as much as you can. This will take the game out of the officials' hands."

I do not like playing to "not lose".

as I said before again again, the officials control who wins in the nfl. all calls should be reviewed that r a game changer.

Inconsistent and overzealous officiating is absolutely ruining the product on the field. One can't enjoy a big play in the moment any longer without rightly waiting for a flag, usually for a tricky-tack infraction that could be assessed on ANY play. Much of this falls to the rulebook, which is the size of the US Tax Code. What constitutes a catch? What constitutes a legal hit on a WR or a QB? No one knows, so the refs err on the side of caution and toss the laundry and wait for replay to sort it out. They are killing the game, especially when one actually attends in person and has to sit through replay pauses AND TV timeouts.
