Make Ray Lewis Defensive Coordinator

"Make" him be our DC? ... it almost sounds like we're supposed to force him. Exactly what indication has been given that he'd want the job? None.

No, I think Ray Lewis needed time away from the organization for a little while. 17 years. He needed to step away and take a breath. I'm sure the passion for the game is still there. The desire to compete. I could see him putting the analyst thing on hold and coming back.

Certainly his leadership would be tremendous for us. Especially to a young team. He would command that entire defense from day one. The other coaches would coach and he would lead....and call the play

It doesn't work like that Lewis would have to be defensive assistant first before ever jumping to being a cooridinator. Asking Lewis to call players and coach up a entire defense unit which is something he has never done is crazy for any organization to be ok with even if Lewis is intelligent.

After Dean Pees moves on, reach out to Ray Lewis and tell him we want Baltimore Defense back.

Ray seems to be taking a break from the game, focusing on family, and being an analyst If Ray decided to start coaching he would likely start on a highschool/college level and work his way up.

Great player, mind for the game, overwhelming motivational prowess...but not a lot of experience coaching.

Let's get Peyton Manning too while we're at it to be the OC. And Ed Reed as secondary coach, Patrick Willis as LB coach, Jamal Lewis as RB coach and see if Jerry Rice wants to be the WR coach to join our all star cast of positional coaches.
