2015 Ravens unluckiest team ever?

44 posts in this topic

I mean, let's stop playing the "what if" games. Yeah, we were in one score games. But there are multiple games where we shouldn't have even been close to being within one score. We can't sit here and say there's a chance we could have won because there were games that we should have gotten blown out.

So basically you are saying "what if" multiple games weren't even close...

dont think its luck but confidence.

we are turning the ball over and not getting turnovers our self.

we simply miss guys with the bully mentality suggs and steve smith bring.

those guys create their own luck by having supreme confidence in their ability.

joey bosa and tyler boyd will make this better, #1 pick here we come!

Cleveland might have something to say about that lol. 2-8 and would own the first overall pick at least until they find a way to beat us on MNF lol.

Has there been a team this unlucky in the NFL before? This is just bad break after bad break with no end in sight. I never seen a 2-7 team this competitive ever. Thread title really describes our season, but things happen for a reason. Come April in the draft, we'll know why.

The Lions aren't going to give it up without a fight.  If we fight for the first like we fight in games, we'll have the 2nd pick...

We'll be down 24 in the last game of the season, to decide if we get the first and comeback to win.

Don't worry...outside of the browns game I see us as massive underdogs against everyone else. Also with the patriots winning the bengals will want to win to take top seed.

More lack of discipline if you ask me

exactly. Point blank. That's one thing about the patriots, hate em to death but you have to admit they are the most disciplined team year in and year out and that is why they constantly find ways to win games with a lot of mediocre players.

its lack of talent combined with below average coaching.

Just going to post the exact same thing.  The only thing I can can add is that you make your own luck.  Discipline is part of that.

For a team that's used to doing jujst that for years, for the life of me I don't kow what has changed.  It's like they came into this season defeated.

Poor play, bad luck, no confidence - it's a combo. We're inventing new ways to lose. If certain things go differently on the last two drives - Juice stays in-bounds, we get the final first down, Koch doesn't get a touchback, defense makes a stop, Lewis controls the INT, no facemask... we win the game.

It was a total lapse.

My prediction is that next year the Ravens will have a tremendous season. Analysts will continually bring up the fact that the Ravens lost 10+ games last year by one score, and that nobody should be that surprised.

We are making up for a lot of 'lucky' breaks in the past few seasons... we are in prime position to get the next great Raven (or two) in the draft next year, and this season will be recognized for what it is - a horrific statistical anomaly in an otherwise stellar tenure for Harbaugh and Flacco. If our 'luck' regresses to the mean, this team (which would otherwise be 9-7 playoff contender) improves significantly next season in the ultimate statistical category, W&L.
