Vent thread week 10: Jaguars

440 posts in this topic

We stand to set a new single season record for collective losses by 3 or less points in the last 60 seconds of a game. I get that everyone had a few more plays in them and no one blames anyone else on the team for making mistakes or throwing picks but I am sick and tired of watching our defense lose gut wrencing games in the last fleeting seconds. Dean Pees has to go, his schemes and obvious lack of discipline have gone on far too long without consequences. I'm done watching my team embarrass themselves and I'm no longer defending them. Until Pees is replaced I'm not watching another game, because our defense will inevitably let us down when it counts the most. What upsets me the most is this incompetent individual has been allowed to stay in Baltimore after he embarassed in vs the Pats in the playoff...John, what does this guy have on you? Do your job Coach...please!

This is a huge plus for me. I've rarely, if ever, seen a team that can pass the ball effectively out of a three tight end set the way we have recently. Typically three tight end sets are run heavy and difficult to pass out of, but we can be fairly balanced out of those looks. It's impressive to me.

Definitely. It's encouraging to see that we can be effective passing the ball out of the 12, 22 and even 13 and 23 personnel. I'd expect to see quite a few of the former two moving forward.

Unfortunately, Brown's been outright awful this season. He's been our worst WR by a wide margin. There's also no reason to play Matt Schaub ahead of Joe Flacco. Shaub isn't a better player at the moment, and he certainly isn't the long term answer. All benching Flacco would do at this point is hurt his confidence and the camaraderie between him and his receiving corps.

Not so with Brown, and by playing Schaud you give the team a different dimension. If Flaccos confidence is hurt by sitting on the bench then maybe he needs to wake up and correct his mistakes. This is a business and not just a game and the goal is to WIN!

The big question is will we win another game this season .

This team just can't make big plays ( picks , etc ) . I think we lose out . Maybe win one or two more

This team isn't bad... I'm just getting annoyed with this fan base now. This team may lack talent but they are out there fighting, and you keyboard warriors are taking shots at them as if they are getting whooped.

Appreciate that they fight, this is a blue collar city team they fight, they may not always win, but they fight.

I'll take my warning points Idc, your spoiled. It's fine to be dissapointing but some of yall are just poor sports. Go cheer for the Patriots why don't you...

Brown's done next to nothing thus far. He's seen the 2nd most snaps among any of our WRs and TEs coming into this game and has consistently struggled with drops and separation. Schaub doesn't provide another dimension. He's purely a pocket passer and an inferior one to Flacco at that. Even strictly from a business standpoint, the move makes zero sense.

It's a bad team . Don't know if you are watching the same team I am .

Today's game was like watching the Toilet Bowl . Both garbage teams .

The Ravens have had bad seasons before, and I've stuck through them as a fan before........but this season is just so bad it's almost embarrassing to be a Ravens fan this year. I just can't watch the total implosion of the team anymore

Sounds like the players were upset(Obviously). They were pissed at the refs especially.

I'm sure they are. They're upset now, but how are they gonna translate that to the next game against the Rams?

I don't know. I honestly don't know what else Harbaugh can do. He's said everything he could possibly say. What are you going to tell your guys now?

Get off of your soap box Smoke.  This is typical of our fanbase.  Some come in and vent their frustrations with the team while others "attack" the ventors!  Ventors are not the enemy!  This team is bad!  They are 2-7!  Even Joe Flacco said they are not "good enough" to win these games...so I guess he's spoiled to huh?  C'mon man!  Smh!  Just because they are bad and it is being vented, that doesn't mean that said ventors don't appreciate their fight!  On the contrary!  If said ventors didn't appreciate the Ravens fight they wouldn't be pissed by their performances or the lack thereof in these games or their losses now would they?

It's a bad team . Don't know if you are watching the same team I am . Today's game was like watching the Toilet Bowl . Both garbage teams .

That's how I see them as well.  Love'em!  But they are not good enough to get the job done this season for various reasons.

I know right. They're just playing with pride. My whole thing is why do people say we have no heart (or not playing with heart) when we've been in every game so this season? We easily could have folded in a lot of these games.

Crazy to think how we're 2-7 but easily could be 7-2 if we're competent in the final minutes of the game.

Understand what you mean but I don't even go to this place of.."we could easily be this or that" in my mind PC.  I deal with where we are now!  And that's 2-7!

Lol of course, it is what it is and honestly I do think we have changes to make. I just wouldn't want to go overboard and blow everything up.

I stopped being disappointed after the Ravens lost to the Browns at home after being up 21-9 at one point.

I keep mentioning that last bit constantly because that's what really cemented for me what this Ravens team is about!  To me they are mediocre and extremely sub-par at best.  If they win...I'm surprised!  But if they lose....kind of expected it based upon how they've been playing for 9 weeks straight now.  Nothing for me to count on and believe in with this present Ravens team!

Well, they haven't been blown out of the house and embarrassed yet. Suppose that counts for something.

It is important to keep in mind, we lost at home to the Jaguars after a bye. They were the better 2 and 6 team. They committed fewer penalties and fewer turnovers.

Don't lose fact either that we lost to a San Fran team that subsequently benched the QB that embarrassed us.

Today there were about 5 people that can raise their hand and say, "I cost us the game"...The Coach included.

This is far from over. There are going to be ramifications for this.

Heads must roll.

Yeah. It would also help if we could play some good ole consistent and disciplined football for 48 minutes. You would THINK that isn't hard to ask, right?

And, that's my issue!

This team had 2 weeks to rest, heal up and prepare themselves for the lowly 2-6 Jaguars.  They were 2-6 themselves going into this game....bye or not so they knew its importance!  No excuse there!

thanks for bringing it to me straight Mili, but I probably wasn't clear. I don't mind venting, I'm seeing people on all areas of social media saying that Dumerville is a Bum, and so and so sucks. That's not right, that's what I'm saying. And not being good enough and sucking are too different things. I'm sure we can agree to that.

That's why I got emotional, I don't have a problem with your comments and many other posters. The folks I'm referring to are obvious

JAX Passing CMP ATT YDS YPA TD INT

Blake Bortles 22 45 188 4.2 2 1

BAL Passing CMP ATT YDS YPA TD INT

Joe Flacco 34 45 316 7 3 2

Kind of hard to believe we lost. 34 of 45 is darn good, even with those 2 ints.

Especially with the practice squad receivers!! Joe Cool is having an awesome year. If he had legit Receivers he would be mvp candidate. He is a top6 qb without question.

I can't go on the record and say it's a bad team. Bad record, bad mistakes I can agree but the team isn't bad. Playing bad but it'd not a bad team in my opinion. Maybe I'm just emotional. If I was at a bar I'd have been in at least 3 fights, Ravens fans included lol

Just another depressing loss. We may be unlucky, but we truly are bad. We keep finding new ways to lose every week. I really don't know if we'll even win another game this year. No way we'll end up better than 5-11. I'm just ready for it to be over.

For the most part I love Harbs. The only big things that I have a problem with are all the times he is going for it on 4th down this year. We do not have a team that can consistently make those kind of plays. The other complaint is he needs to be harder on the coordinators . Those are the guys that are in charge of the position coaches. All these penalties are a direct result of coaches not holding players responsible for the stupid mistakes. Harbs has had to be the good guy this year to try to keep the players going and not give up. But the positional coaches are letting too much go. (like DB's not catching balls that come right to them, ST players causing stupid penalties that wipe out good returns, and so on)

The other problem we have is that our current WRs have no positional awareness. They do not keep in their minds what is needed for the first down. Our new TEs are a lot more aware of what is needed to get the first down than our WRs are.

Maybe after this humiliating loss, Harbs will start holding the coordinators more accountable and then we MIGHT see a ripple down effect to that.

If you didn't care you wouldn't respond, Harbaugh road Billick's team to the dance with a quarterback he had nothing to do with being drafted, once he washed away Billick's team this is the results. If you don't care why are you even on the ravens page, hmmmm.

Lol Billick? I'd understand a Ray and Ed team arguement but some of you guys are still overly attached to Billick as if he is the reason for us having success. It is 2015 and Billick has not had a HC job since 2007 for a reason. Time to move on.
