Vent thread week 10: Jaguars

I'm not even disappointed anymore.

This one is on the offense, clear as day. I'd put the biggest lump on Joe, but he doesn't have any help. Between Joe, Trestman, Givens, and Kamar, plenty of blame to go around. Even some to the offensive line. This loss is all on the offense in my view. Sure, Doom screwed up, but if we get ONE more first down on that last drive, we get the W. If Kamar doesn't drop a wide open slant on the opening drive, we may score there. If we run the ball even a little bit more, maybe we get a little more balance on offense. If we actually get open, if we actually make good throws, if we just execute. The offense blew it in so many ways.

Trestman said he was going to work on the run game over the bye. I guess working on the run game means abandoning it. Where was the balance today?

I agree.  In Trestmans defense, the Jags have a good run defense.

I hate to knit pick but  if tuck makes his kicks vs bengals browns 49ers and jags we win or go to ot in all. gostkowski is perfect on the season and just drilled a 54 yarder for the win. if he wants gostkowski $ he has to make those kicks. i do love tuck just sayin

I guess that's a positive is that there is no way Tucker becomes highest paid kicker with the season he's having. Keeping our All Star kicker who's having a down year for a reasonable price is fine with me

Yeah but we've seen what our drafts have been like since 2009. What bothers me also is why they gave Pitta a new contract after he busted his hip. That really makes no sense.

We've had some solid drafts drafts recently.. A handful of bad picks that aren't normal around here but some really solid picks

Pitta's Rice's and Ngata's contract are what killed this season on top of injuries

one site lists Aiken with 14 targets

I don't know what is it with flacco ...he just likes to saturate a guy lately.  Lack of confidence in the crew I guess.

Regarding penalties we were certainly outcoached.

I don't think we have leaders on the field telling the others to watch the penalty in the key situation. I really don't.  We just got gutted is all and its a long haul to get back.  Stopping the injuries would help, but come on.........we are clearly dysfunctional.

this is the problem ,, at least a portion,, you will have players saying I take full responsibility that is on me,, well you can say something like that,,, but you can be responsible and not be accountable,,

when there is accountability for actions then there is change. if Harb was a true coach he can go to his OC and make a change,, when he came here he wanted a patriot type of team ,, he is not that head coach of NE,,, we need our identity back we really have a good team ,, there is talent there ... all harb had to say was stay in more of a TE set or hey JOE why are you targeting AIKEN so much,,little things like that shows people he is no real coach

4 turnovers can't win you any game period.....not counting countless of drop for potential pick six and possibly TD....

Just by u saying 4-12 makes everything you say wrong, they were 5-11 because Steve McNair got injured. Make things up in your head.

So the 1 win changes everything I said. Way to avoid the argument completely bc you've got nothing to refute it.

Duh????????????? I think we all know what happened wrt to Pitta's, Rice's and Ngata's contracts. So what????That's all water over the dam now. The important question to ask oneself is what did the Ravens do about them. The three top questions  heading into this year's campaign were (not in order of importance): 1) Who would be our KR man to replace JJ? 2) What would we do to fix our secondary? 3) Who would replace Torrey Smith & Anquan Boldin? Today's game underscored these unanswered questions and more. With zero time left on the clock we led 20-19. It was a game we should have won , we could have won and we would have won if the above three questions had been properly addressed in the off-season. The thing about excuses is everybody has one. If your premise is correct and our woeful play is the result of three contracts, whose fault is it?  Let me guess ---- Dean Pees, huh?

Right, someone been paying attention.

Or not been paying attention. On the "like last year, or the year before that, or before that..." Comment.

Last year we nearly made it to the AFCCG.

The year before that was bad, but we were playing for a playoff spot on the last game of the season.

The year before that we won the Super Bowl.

So in the 3 years you're referring to we won a SB and were a possession away from the AFCCG. And in the down year we were a game away from the playoffs.

If that's Harbs "fault" that's actually a compliment.

The easiest thing to remember was going 5-11 that season, you could have googled that but since you're not a fact finder why waste my time arguing with you. Harbaugh has made bad decisions every year as our coach, year every has had fans calling to fire his coordinators that he stands by, he does not specialize in either offense or defense. Can you tell me the reason he was brought in as head coach in the first place? I know that answer and that need has expired. We now have a new need that he isn't equipped to fulfill.

I agree.  In Trestmans defense, the Jags have a good run defense.

And they constantly stacked the box. They dared us to throw ... and throw we did. But as always with this team, we looked good at times ... and then would go and look terrible. The 3rd quarter offensive performance was hideous.

I hope Perriman plays next season too I want Givens to stay too. Next year I want the WR's to have to earn their roster spots I really think some of the guys were just handed their spots on the roster.

We had probably the most competitive WR battle at training camp this season than most other teams. we just didnt have much talent in the competition outside of SSS.

This year failing, last year Kubiak, year before failing, without Kubiak that's 3 straight years of failure without Ray Lewis and Ed Reed, the locker room coaches. Once the alpha males left including Kubiak Harbaugh just hopes for success. All Billick ever needed was a QB, he knew offense and kept a stud DC. Harbaugh didn't even call Kubiak then lied and say he didn't know, just like he argued with chip Kelly during preseason and lied and said he didn't say nothing, yea that's our leader. The special team coach that wasn't smart enough to call timeout when Cundiff ran on the field late, that's his specialty though, belly-chick saw it and said that's why he didn't ice Cundiff, this head coach guy messes up every year consistently, thank goodness Ray Lewis announced his retirement and someone went over his head last year to bring in Kubiak Edited by Hardhitters

Much as i want to point out the obvious and go on the same rhethorics ive been preaching, ill just stop myself. Dont want argue with flacco homers. Dont even have the energy to even try.

Just for sake of sanity I want us to just win the next game. Any game. It kills me to see Ravens in this state. We need to try and keep our team in one piece, bc this franchise could go on a downturn fast.

What do facts matter when you're just spewing garbage? And I wasn't aware that the HC had to specialize in offense or defense.

Billick had 9 seasons, 1 SB, 84 wins, 4 playoff appearances, and 3 losing seasons.

Harbs has had 7 full season, 1 SB, 83 wins, 6 playoffs appearances, 2 AFCCG appearances, and 0 losing seasons.

This will be his 1st losing season.

Even including this year, he's been historically good as a HC in terms of wins, playoff wins, and playoff appearances. Yet you want to run him off because of 1 bad and 1 ok season where personnel has clearly been the issue??

Idc who the coach is, they can't shine a Waste products. You'll see when Brady retires what Belichick is capable of without the greatest QB of all time.

Now if this sort of play continues another 2 years when we're healthy and have added talent at the positions we're lacking, then sure blame Harbaugh.

But there's been maybe 2-3 coaches in history with better results than what Harbaugh has given us. After a down '13 we were right back on the doorstep of a Super Bowl.

And we'll be right back at it next year. It's funny bc we never had this kind of success under Billick. He only made the playoffs in back to back years ONCE yet you're acting like Harbs is riding Billicks coat tails.

Dumbest argument I've ever heard. We won the SB 5 YEARS REMOVED from Billick, yet it was Billicks team still. You're a freakin joke.

When is this team going to wake up and realize that all these losses are due to their own inabilities to catch balls, not fumble, cease and desist with the stupid penalties and start playing like a team. These guys are making premium salaries compared to the people in the stands yet they continue to play like high schoolers! Perhaps if their performances were tied to their salaries, things might be different. Instead of guaranteed money, use incentives. Every week its the same old story ....... penalties, mistakes and miscues!   Are they intentionally seeking the first pick in the first round of the 2016 draft?

Considering I emotionally check out a couple weeks ago....this was a Bad Bad BAD loss.

It highlighted everything that's been wrong with this team for the whole season.

Can't stop anyone when it counts....

Dumb dumb penalties at the worst time...

Inconsistent to horrible QB play...

No pass rush....

Can't come up with Turnovers...

I'm ready for the offseason

I stopped being disappointed after the Ravens lost to the Browns at home after being up 21-9 at one point.

I keep mentioning that last bit constantly because that's what really cemented for me what this Ravens team is about!  To me they are mediocre and extremely sub-par at best.  If they win...I'm surprised!  But if they lose....kind of expected it based upon how they've been playing for 9 weeks straight now.  Nothing for me to count on and believe in with this present Ravens team!

Time to put in Matt Schaub and all the other players that have been sitting on the bench.

Why are we not throwing to Marlon Brown? Take the gloves off and maybe we can catch the ball (punts, interceptions, passes)

Can't believe they showed Dean Pees sitting on his a.. up in the booth. Why is he not on the field?

Where is our special teams coach?

Poor coaching...no discipline.

On a positive note, it was nice to see Jimmy Smith make a few plays against Allen Robinson. Lardarius Webb gave up the TD, but he was solid otherwise. We finally got our TEs more involved in the intermediate passing game and it yielded positive results. We were actually perfect on our targets to the trio, with 10 receptions on 10 targets.

Unfortunately, Brown's been outright awful this season. He's been our worst WR by a wide margin. There's also no reason to play Matt Schaub ahead of Joe Flacco. Shaub isn't a better player at the moment, and he certainly isn't the long term answer. All benching Flacco would do at this point is hurt his confidence and the camaraderie between him and his receiving corps.

This is a huge plus for me. I've rarely, if ever, seen a team that can pass the ball effectively out of a three tight end set the way we have recently. Typically three tight end sets are run heavy and difficult to pass out of, but we can be fairly balanced out of those looks. It's impressive to me.
