2015 Wild Card Race!

This thread is soooo upsetting....

LOL at the thought of Schaub against the Seahawks in a couple weeks...

Seahawks are awful on the road. It's pretty strange. They barely beat a Cowboys team without romo. You'll see Sunday vs the Vikings.

Dolphins are a mess and the Chiefs don't look good at all.  Seahawks rely on a strong run game which seems to be the one thing our defense is good at stopping.  I don't necessarily believe that we'll win any of these games, but I wouldn't say that they are clear losses either.

I agree with  you on the Dolphins, but what are you talking about regarding the Chiefs.  They are hot and their defense is superb.

So messing around with the ESPN playoff machine, look at this...

If we go 9-7, Texans 9-7, Steelers 9-7, Jets 9-7, Bills 9-7, Chiefs 9-7, Raiders less than 9-7,

We get into the playoffs! Obviously there's variables, but should show we can still do it even if a lot of teams go 9-7.

If we go 8-8, Jets 8-8, Steelers 8-8, Texans 8-8, Bills 8-8, Chiefs 8-8, and Raiders 8-8, we get in at one of the Wild Card spots. (If Chiefs or Bills go 9-7, we get in)

Aren't the Chiefs on a big winning streak?

The Cheifs haven't lost in over a month. Five straight wins, and looking good doing it.

not sure what you've been watching but the Chiefs have been on fire lately bro.

Evidently I was wrong about the Chiefs :D

Point still stands, minus the part about the Chiefs.

But their defense was still pretty dominant that game. It'll be whether their offense turns the corner after that big game against Pitt or whether that was a fluke that determines if we have a chance to get an ugly win there. We certainly won't be able to go for big points like Pitt did.

I was the first to point it out, do I get a cookie?

This week we're pullin for the Raiders, Giants, bills, and Colts. We gotta take care of our end first and foremost though.

Throw in the Browns as well. Bengals have 9 wins currently, they lose out and we beat them and let's say we win out and go to 9-6. Then come week 17, both the Ravens and Bengals would be 9-6 with the division on the line in week 17. Winner gets the North. Yep I know impossible but if we are going to dream about the playoffs then let's dream big and dream about that division that still is in reach!

I agree. We've been in every game we play. It is the winning part we've had issues with. I see no reason what that will change.

If we win our next 3, I'll pay attention to the playoff picture. Until then, I think I'll just look for us to improve our play.

As long as the defense can't hold a 4th quarter lead (which, even in our latest win, they were unable to do) we're not going anywhere.

Need all the 5-6 teams to win today against the 6-5 teams. Get us to within one game (if we win), if you can believe it.

Is it probable? No. That's what this year has been all about, improbable things happening.

Would I be elated? Yes. I'd trade that over top 15 pick any day.,

The fact remains that the Ravens are still in the mix somehow.

I was playing around with the playoff generator this morning, the most unrealistic thing preventing them from making the playoffs is them winning out. The rest of the results that would need to happen aren't out of the realm of realism...

Just saw the AFC Playoff Picture on the NFL Network.  It stated that the Ravens (4-8) are "In the Hunt".  But that is behind....

Wildcard:

5th Seed Chiefs (7-5)

6th Seed Jets (7-5)

In the Hunt:

Steelers (7-5)

Bills (6-6)

Texans (6-6)

Raiders (5-7)

Dolphins (5-7)

Jaguars (4-8)

RAVENS (4-8)

Chiefs and Jets will both most likely win next week and end any silly talk of playoffs.

Chiefs play Chargers

Jets play Titans

not to mention the Steelers have to be the hottest team (offensively at least) in the league.

Chances we make the playoffs? Pretty much 0%, so take this with a grain of salt. This is our most likely path to the playoffs...

Ravens 8-8, and have a 6-6 AFC record. (Win out)

Jets 8-8 and have a 6-6 AFC record. (lose vs Titans, lose @ Cowboys, Lose vs Patriots, Win @ Bills)

Bills finish 8-8 with a 6-6 AFC record. (Lose 2/3 (not all 3) of their games vs Cowboys, Redskins, Eagles, and lose vs Jets)

Steelers 8-8 (we knock them out w/ division tiebreakaer) (Lose @Bengals, lose vs Broncos, lose @Ravens, Win @Browns)

Texans 7-9 (lose at least 3/4 of games vs Patriots, @Colts, @Titans, Vs Jaguars)

Jaguars 7-9 (Have to lose at least 1 of their last 4)

I assume that the Chiefs get the 5th seed.

The Bills would eliminate the Jets via division tiebreaker, and we would get in over the Bills because of strength of victory.

This is more of a "just for the heck of it" post since it'd take a miracle, but we might as well hope that this crazy NFL season only gets crazier, right? If not, I'm okay with a high draft pick, but I will not root for us to lose.

I think Ravens win 3 of next 4, go 7-9, with the only loss being to the Chiefs, because officials for some reason say a Justin Tucker 48 yard field goal was no good, even though it is in the dead center.

I was joking. You were talking about how ridiculas it was that they said we were "in the hunt" and I answered with an optimistic statement. Calm down Edited by ludy51

1st...Where in that post did I remotely mention or use the word "ridiculous?"

2nd...Why even tell me to "calm down"  when I simply asked for you to answer your own question?

Don't be so sensitive....

Both answers are found in your own response.

1. The fact that you said "In not saying anything!" With that exclamation point, implying defensiveness

2. Again, the exclamation point.

It's a shame we were so bad this year that we couldn't manage to get a wildcard. The two teams that get a wildcard look like they will get to play the winner of the AFC South, probably the second worse division in the league or the Broncos (look terrible on offense) or the Bengals (Dalton may be done of the season).
