[News] 'Clock Is Ticking' For Injured Ravens Rookie Breshad Perriman

111 posts in this topic

I'm still rooting for the guy, whether it's 3-4 games this year or starting fresh next year (meaning no team would have film on him). I still believe we will not regret drafting him. Let the guy heal and get on the field before labeling him a bust

I'm still as excited to see BP today as I was the day we drafted him. This guy is 6"2' 200 lbs plus and clocked a 4.24 40 according to nfl.com. If guys like Peterson that have come back from completely shredding their knees, and prior to that clocked 4.4 40s, and still get clocked with this knew technology running 21 and 22 mph, imagine how fast these WRs are running? And he's 6"2'!!

Also, it looks like we got a smart trade in for Chris Givens for our 7th rounder. St. Louis just lost Bailey for 4 games for PEDs. Austin is mostly a gimmick reciever, and Britt and Quick are barely getting any receptions. Good thing we got the trade in before things went south for the Rams cuz there's no way they part with Givens if they knew how weak their WR corp really was. Not to mention Givens gets a shot at payback soon. Blood and Guts.

At least the Ravens organization has made a great decision, and kept him far, far away from the media. Nothing good happens there. Just ask the Redskins and Robert Griffin the late. If he doesn't play THIS year, so what. It doesn't really matter at this point. Come back next year, like an additional draft pick and prove why you were a first rounder. I can't pass judgement on a guy who hasn't taken the field.

I guess the frustrating part of this is, in the beginning we were told the knee was just tweaked and he would be back in a couple days !

Now the season is half over and we haven't seen anything from Perriman, more than him running half speed to tweak it even worse !

I still hope he comes back and proves everyone wrong.

It just seams very suspect, the way it all has gone so far.

I sure hope he doesn't turn out to be made of glass....

John is just putting out the company line on Perriman, I am sure he is getting nearly updates on him. Also, since it is a lower body injury, he has not been able to work out and likely has lost a step or two. Please no more articles on him!

The doctor, "performed a minor scope procedure to confirm there was no new damage"? Sounds like more damage is being done in treatment. Aren't there enough imaging technologies available to avoid cutting?

I would be more interested in an article on his personality and how the team is accepting him. Does he get along? Do they look forward to working with him? What makes him unique. Etc.

BR.com is doing a fabulous job in keeping the 'Perriman Hysteria' alive and well. In fact, I'll go so far and say they're feeding the monster with these articles that essentially perpetuate the mystery we already feel! When is this guy going to suit up if he isn't even cleared for practice? How long before he has game speed? Add 4 weeks from the day he starts practicing before he is ready to suit up for a game! So, in my view the clock just stopped ticking for Mr. Perriman till next season.

Not saying he is a bust, but Perriman has always been injury prone throughout his young football career. The Ravens have been drafting injury prone players lately - Campanaro, now Perriman. The information on these 2 players was out there prior to their draft. You would think the scouts would know this. For Campanaro we sacrificed a pick to move up to get him. For Perriman - a first round pick. I'm sure their were many options on the board when he was drafted.

oops!.....no its not. The clock is NOT ticking. The hour hand had just fallen off of the clock. I am sure that a lot of internal politics have their hands on this "mess".

He is already a year behind. He hasn't played since July 30th the first day of training camp when they were wearing shorts. Please, I have had enough of the tease since we drafted him. Just a wasted spot on the roster now. IR him already. I will reserve judgement on if he's another bust next year.

Where do you get this?  He was not injury prone here at UCF.  Not at all.  He had one concussion after a brutal hit in which the opposing player was ejected.

It JUST hit me! Has anyone reviewed the film of Perriman throwing out the first pitch of the Oriole game, soon after he had been drafted. I was there. He may have tweeked something in his delivery.

Yeah he was. There was an article on that. The article was entitled something like "...Perriman overcame injuries to make it to the NFL.." I'll try and find it

Can you say bust? Or better yet, can you say Ryan Leaf? Actually not fair, since Ryan Leaf at least made it to the field. I just hope we get a higher draft pick this year, since I doubt we make the playoffs.

That is an article about his OS disease as a kid....  that has nothing to do with this and has been discussed ad nauseam here.  He had no injuries at UCF.

A disorder my now 34 year old 5'10" daughter had.  Her bones were growing much faster than her muscles and she would experience cramps and aches in her knees and thighs every night... as a kid... took a while for it all to catch up with all of the elements.    She too, ran track.  She has had no problems since she was about 16.

He isn't nor has he ever been INJURY PRONE.
