If he - or rather, his doctors - decide he can come back, there's gonna be an interesting decision to make - namely: do we have place for 4 TE's on the roster? Because, surely they won't risk cutting any of our 3 current TE's - Pitta's injury history simply doesn't allow that. His hip could do the same again, and then there would we be with only 2 TE's remaining... also, all of our 3 current TE's are simply too good and important to let any of them go.

There's no way Pitta walks away from $7million/yr for 2016/17 voluntarily. From his perspective  a severe aggravation would knock him out of football but not affect him long term or his quality of life. If he was going to retire there would be no need to wait until any deadline. He's in.

We can def use him in the slot wr role. He excelled as a hybrid TE/WR when he did play for us. But the TE aspect might be too much on his lower body now. Kelce on Kansas City reminds me a lot of Pitta before the injuries.

He would be good in the slot and be a big improvement over most our wr because of his big frame and great hands.  But if he stays at TE he immediately jumps over Williams and Boyle bc of his experience and it allow Williams to focus more on his weight training cause Williams needs to bulk up a little bit before next season.

I want him back.  I admit I'm loyal and always remember him as a great team mate and player.  I'm sure he wants to proove he can help this team rather than walk away.

This guy is a great player and person, my Ravens fan side wants him to play, but my human side wants him to retire. I don't want to see him get hurt again, possibly disabling him for life....the choice is his of course and I wish him good luck!!!

If Pitta play I want to see a play he, Crockett and Boyle all run passing routes on the same play with givens or Morgan taking the top off. We have monster TE's, not real fast but they are specimens.

Even if he does play he will not be effective it will take him a while to adjust, also he is not the fastest guy on the field, he was having trouble getting separation and with 2 hip surgeries I can't imagine him being any quicker. The only advantage to having him back that I can see is he has a sure set of hands for catching the ball.

It's feasible that one can read between the lines of Harbaugh's comments yesterday and realize that he's thinking Pitta won't be playing. He compliments how he's done in practice and reinforces that Pitta's desire is to be playing football, but from a body language/tone standpoint, it seems like he's expressing that it's unlikely.
