ogbahs stock has been everywhere but more recently it has skyrocketed, and rightfully so, he may be raw but he has the prototypical measurables and a very high motor and iq and is a workaholic off the field. He's an Ozzie kind of player and nobody will be surprised if he goes top10.

He may be an "Ozzie kind of player" but Ozzie almost always picks the best player available and Ogbah is not that player at pick 7. There are other prospects that are valued higher than Ogbah but he would be an intriguing player if he played DE opposite of Jernigan. I just don't see OLB speed or acceleration in my opinion.

well I'll agree to disagree on both fronts, OLBs don't need great speed but rather short ranged agility and first step, which he has. And at 7th, there just doesn't appear to be much to choose from, nkemdiche and Stanley both have huge question marks and ogbah would make a legitimate case for bpa in this scenario

If you haven't noticed, the NFL is a PASSING league. Those linebackers I just mentioned would greatly help our PASS defense. Being undersized shouldn't hinder a player's playing ability. There are quite a few LB's in this league who are coverage linebackers and "undersized". With that said, Jaylon Smith is 6'3" and Myles Jack is 6'1", they are not undersized. Linebackers who can cover TE's and RB's are going to be jewels in this league. Considering a top 10 pick, Ogbah is not the best player available at pick 6 OR 7 in my opinion.

You cannot spend first round pick (likely one of the highest picks in Ravens history) on linebacker who isn't effective on most downs.

Well, you can if you're Saints, I guess.

Myles Jack will be effective on all downs. He is a ball sniffing machine and has the physicality to handle himself reasonably against the run. Jaylon Smith, not so much

after looking it over again, i have warmed up to yannick ngakoue a lot, he looks like a professional OLB, and i think he has an extremely high ceiling and a floor of a good rotational pass rusher, and i think i actually like him more than nassib, he appears to just be more well suited to getting to the qb as an OLB at the next level, nassib appears to be less of a finished product and less of a system fit as well. the more i think about it, the more i love the idea of trading back in the first and getting an extra 2nd round pick, and getting ngakoue with that extra 2nd, and in the first we can hope for a guy like nkemdiche to fall and make up a seriously scary duo, if not we can always take treadwell or some other huge talent who slid. with our original 2nd we can take a guy like boyd, mckensie alexander, or michael thomas.

I really like Ngakoue a lot. His motor and first step are ridiculous. He is defiantly a better OLB at the next level. He doesn't have the length of a guy like Nassib, but his first step is defiantly intriguing. He could probably use to add a little more muscle, but would be a great rotational piece early for us. Really interested to see his combine numbers.

Another one I'm kinda interested in is Sean Davis. Not sure moving to corner was the best move for him because he lacks closing speed for the NFL, but he could probably be a decent FS at the next level. Doesn't really have great ball skills, but has good football iq and is a good tackler. Could be a decent developmental guy.

Sound any better? Forums are anything but peaceful. Arguing and challenging ones logic to certain topics is what we're all looking for right? Sure it gets a little "unbearable" but one can't sit here and post without expecting some sort of refute. You should know, you have nearly 6,000 posts. Don't sit there and criticize me for defending MY opinion when I'm sure you've defended yours. Im sure you've had many criticize some of the posts you have made and vice versa.

There is a difference between discussing in a civil manner and arguing. Calling someone's post the dumbest thing you have read fits into the later. Shouldn't have to resort to that if you are making good points.

we have 6k+ posts and you have 12, and youre telling us how things work around here? my friend i think you may be lost, you might want to stick to the "News" section of the forum with that cancer so the mods can slam the banhammer asap. mods typically stay out of the draft section and it stays more civil here than anywhere else. we all criticize eachothers posts, we respectfully debate, and guys disagree a little sternly at times, but theres a difference between a stern debate and flat out disrespect, which is what you have shown plenty of in your short time posting here. calling people straight up dumb when you are brand new is just not the way to go about it.

Post count don't matter. I wish I didn't have as many as I do. People will think I have no life when I just come here to get a quick break from school studying and that draft game padded the Hell out of my post count.

I wasn't bragging about post count lol, he pointed out our post counts as some sort of defense that justifies his disrespect, I was pointing out the irony

To be fair, you'd do just fine on count even if you didn't participate in forum mock :P

ok man, you wanna debate, ill debate. The original argument was that the ravens cant afford to spend a top 10 pick on an ILB who isnt effective on most downs(jaylon smith), you somehow used a 26th overall pick from 20 years ago, on an every down linebacker to argue against that, im not sure how that relates at all, but i digress. what you are talking about here is HINDSIGHT, which is a luxury that no gm has during the draft, all these gm's have is the evidence of what they believe a player is capable of, so when a player like jaylon smith looks very frail for a 3-4 ILB and looks like he will struggle against the run at the next level(a common opinion by the way) then gm's have a very legitimate reason to pass on him with a top 10 pick, if he turns out to be just fine against the run, well then hindsight is 20/20 and it becomes very easy to say "we should have taken him", but this is reality, not hindsight, if he looks like he will struggle against the run, then that is all the info we have to work with, and if that means he isnt a fit here, then we dont take him, and for good reason, because a top 10 pick on an ILB who only plays coverage snaps is a waste of a pick.
