[News] Expect Bigger Role For WR Chris Givens

77 posts in this topic

I said it 10x and I'm gonna say it again! Whatever we do; just don't activate or play Marlon! I think Butler needs to be unleashed!

Kamar and givens

Ross and Morgan eat up the slot and seam

Trick people with Butler BC he's strong and has amazing hands

Givens has earned the additional touches and he might just make those sfatey and corner blitzes decrease in frequency. Brown operating wide takes him out of what he does well and that operate in the slot. He's been there since college and you can't just throw a guy out wide and expect his him to do well. With Boyle and Gilmore he may not have much of a role but it was his mismatches against smaller corners in the slot that made him dangerous.

Thank you Joe for validating my observation(s) of Mr. Givens long before he got here. He must be resigned in the off season. I don't who cut to keep him receiver wise. Dude plays like a smart/athletic Raven. If install routes that take advantage of his skill set they won't regret it. We'll still need to replace Camp, Brown and possibly Smith. Ozzie needs Dick need to their cap evals early. The Cubs (formerly the Lions) will ripe for the pickings lol. If Caldwell goes then he will be an asset in lining our pockets with some of their free agent talent. Old alliances would must assuredly help the FO in the evaluation process. I think we should live up to the Ravens nature and scavenge them there bones clean. (Pun intended)

He is getting more separation than anyone out there so get him snaps. Still waiting for two tight end sets to open the middle of the field and to jumpstart the run game again.

So far I've seen Flacco underthrow him twice, and then overthrow him once. I hope he gets a chance during this bye to figure out Givens' actual speed. If he does, watch out!

I expect bigger roles for everybody that is healthy enough to suit up for the Ravens. That is just a statistically accurate statement.

Sounds good....Mr Givens showed up in Baltimore at just the right time to propel his career. If he and Joe get some good mojo going on, and he doesnt drop balls, he can back up the brinx truck

Speed Kills. Givens is getting a great opportunity to be a part of this organization moving forward. I hope he makes the most of it, because he has the physical tools to be a great WR in the NFL and we sure could use a playmaker.

"why is there a picture of the defensive coaches?" I don't know but most of them need to hit the gym themselves. It's called lead by example. Looks like their taking a food run.

Is this excitement I hear Ravens fans lol? It sure is nice to hear some good things for our guys. Hopefully this duo will get better and better with a couple games under their belt. Go Ravens!

Claim Dri Archer!! He can be our version of Danny Woodhead/Darren Sproles etc. and return kicks/punts. A little guy who can run like crazy and also catch the ball! We would have to create a role for him but he has always been explosive!

I dont believe this crap. 2-6 and they couldnt use another explosive weapon like Jacoby.

Yet Sh.ttsburgh 4-4 now adds another dynomite explosive player. Seems like they have 10 diffwrent weapons.

Why does this organization have a problem with ALPHA MALES!!! GOD!!! Jacoby should a been a Raven. Harbaugh you clown

Now with Givens and the addition of Morgan they should have more speed and keep the opponents D from stacking the box. Just looking at Morgan's stats he seems to be a big time yardage gainer when he catches the ball. If so, where's the kicker in as he was readily available for the taking?

@Billiejean, yeeah they cut him because Antonio Brown,Martavis Bryant, Sammie Coates(Speed Demon drafted last yr), Dariud Heyward Bey(Former first round pick, speed demon showing up... Markus Wheaton WR...

So Steelers have 5-6 freaking WRs because they drafted and brought in guys that Dri Archer isnt even getting a shot

Im not sure if you have followed Darius Hayward Beys career.  Yes, he was a first round pick for the raiders but was taken way way way to early by Al Davis because he had speed.  He has been pretty terrible for the majority of his career.  And the fact Dri couldn't beat him out says a lot about Dri's ability.  The other thing that you may have forgotten is that Dri himself was a third round pick in the 2014 draft and the fact that the steelers are giving up on him already is not a good sign.

Not to mention the fact your entire argument is flawed.  If the Steelers thought they had too many receivers why would they add Jacoby.  It is telling that they thought Jacoby, who is having a below average season would be better than Dri.

Its great Givens has the chemistry.  Joe has to explore this option.  I wonder what Morgan brings to the table?

I know Morgan has speed and Givens has speed they can both spread the defense and take the top off and that should help open up the field and give the option of the deep ball.

we've had so many scrub receivers that I can't even keep up with all these nobodies- it's so comical to me that we don't have one legitimate receiver on our team- thanks, Oz
