[News] Tight Ends Will Have Bigger Role In Season's Second Half

46 posts in this topic

Can the Ravens afford to carry 4 TE's on the 53? If they release Boyle he'll get picked up by some other team. They're probably gonna need a roster spot for Urban too.

That's because Joe is not going to have time to throw so he will have to dump it off fast. Monroe and Hurst get real.

I'm just surprised by how little we have used our TEs so far. All in all, they've been pretty good all season long. And they seem to have good hands. Better than a number of our WRs, at least.

With the TE's being more involved in the 2nd half of the season does this mean more time for use or are they hoping that Pitta returns to old form coming off more or less 2 years of inactivity, at this point Pitta to me is going to be more of a coach and mentor to the young guns then any type of major contributor to the passing game and I hate to say that Dennis has been a beast for us but after the seriousness of his injuries it just seems to me that he will never reach the form that he once had and if so do we want to use up a 53 man roster spot on him when we have Gilmore and Williams. I know it's off topic a little but Perriman needs to heal from the worlds longest healing strain of a MCL that I have ever seen and help with a deep threat on the outside ], heck I had the same injury while I was active duty in the Army and deployed overseas and I was given Motrin 800mg and told to keep on keeping on and never missed a mission. If this young kid can't heal lord help us down the road if he gets nicked up down the road for the rest of his career if it ever gets started. A raven fan for life.

Crockett seems to have taken that next step in his growth process. I like Boyle and Maxx and cant wait to see them grow some more with more chances.

I still have really high expectations for Maxx Williams

Crockett will be the all-star on our team. Not saying Maxx won't do some good things next year after he has a chance to bulk up and get use to our physical division.

Crockett is just a special kind of player that should be getting a lot more passes thrown his way..

In my opinion next year we could very well have a Gronk and Graham on our team. That's not counting Pitta if he comes back..

I expected Williams to start slow - a lot slower than many people seemed to be thinking coming into camp. I just didn't think it would be this slow. I really hope he starts showing some signs of improvement ... which includes being healthy and getting on the field.

Boyle has been good. Gilmore ... still hoping he can develop into a stud, but it seems like Flacco isn't able to consistently get him the ball. I just can't see where Pitta fits at this point and I won't be at all surprised if he never takes a snap again.

Finally. It's like we've had these awesome toys sitting in our toy chest, but we've never really brought 'em out to play /w em. Lets see what these guys can do.

Crockett is the closest thing to Gronk once the ball is in his hands.

Maxx is one of the youngest players in the league, but he should be able to provide a mismatch at the very least. We've mostly just been using him to catch quick passes in the flat.

Boyle seems really intriguing. He can't stretch the field vertically at all, but he'll catch anything thrown his way inside of 15. Kind of reminds me of Dwayne Allen. Plus he can block.

They need to start using them on the goalline more for sure. You can run and pass out of the same formation with the same personnel with these TEs and be good at both with these TEs.

This is another no brainer.! With our wr core being weak all along we should've been using our te more. Double tight ends with givens an kamar Aiken on the outside. We can play ugly ball, ground an pound with the play action deep ball. I've been doing that on madden for months. I'm not sure why our coaches are just now figuring this out is mind boggling...smh!
