[News] Ravens Will Talk About Possibility Of Adding Jacoby Jones

He better come at the minimum if he wants a chance to get back onto the team. He can't be thinking hes the best in the league because we who he was special only for us. So come back home and be a Raven!

Hey..you can always use more deep threats...Two is better then one last I checked. And if you play Givens and Jacoby regardless of his questionable hands...it for es defenses now 15-20 yards off the line because of that bomb. Which opens up underneath and middle game all day, and run game.

Some times people need a fresh start! Perhaps Jacoby wasn't really happy out West any ways?

It's probably not as much about happiness thsan the money. I doubt Torrey was especially happy to leave Baltimore and have a fresh start in San Francisco - even before it became obvious that he's not gonna be utilized much... But the money. They're professionals, they can't turn down big offers, after all, that's the way they fend for their families.

That said, I like to remember people - and myself :) - that it was Jacoby who left money on the table not once, but TWICE to become/stay a Raven for less. First when he chose the Ravens over the Panthers (I believe) when he was cut by the Texans, the second time when he chose to come back over going to the Giants before last season - although both the Panthers and then the Giants offered him a better deal...

I still want to see Pitta back after the bye... That'll be 3weeks. Activate him throw him in the slot. I know Eisenberg was on 1057 yesterday, and said Pitta wants to comeback. Its looking like he'll give it a shot

Bring 'em back and let Flacco throw him another long one in the end zone on a game winning td. We'd all like to see that happen. Or maybe he can take on Mike Tomlin again along the side lines for a return way down the field. Plus there's the advantage of having someone on 'dancing with the stars' on the team:)))

I expect people posting on the facebook page to be rather ignorant about previous players, but seriously, some of you make me shake my head.

The talk of JJ and Torrey make me cringe.

I guess you can't expect every fan to pay attention to the game.

Anyone remember JJ's performance AFTER the superbowl and last year? I do. Fumbled returns, low yardage and as a receiver he was just as bad as marlon brown, but in my eyes worse because he has MORE experience!!

Anyone remember Torrey giving up last year, especially the last play of the pats game in the playoffs??? Not to mention the offensive penalties he caused which hurt us on several drives. Also, his lacking abilities to put forth an effort to be the number one receiver like we asked him to be....

Let the past go, they are not ravens football. We don't accept quitters and poor performances.. NEXT!!!

That's really mean of you.  Jacoby was my favorite player.  Always joking and fun.  I like to be entertained when watching football not being a sour-puss with expectations of perfection on each and every play.  I seen AJ Green miss a few and drop some too.  I seen Peyton Manning toss a few interceptions this year.  Ain't no one calling his fans ignorant.  You need to take a chill pill.

He at least can help stretch the field, and get involved in special teams. At a HUGE discount price. He may not be consistent at WR, but he is a proven playmaker on special teams and 1 or 2 big plays can make or break games. Were not making the plays now, so what would it hurt??

Another question to answer is who do we cut if he comes aboard?

well we just sent Steve to IR so we wouldn't have to cut anybody I believe.

"[This is] the first I've heard of Jacoby's situation, Harbaugh said.

Really John? After what we've been through at receiver, this is the first you ever heard of it especially when you were scanning the waiver wires for eligible receivers to sign and the fact that you had several come in? Jacoby was cut yesterday and almost every fan of the Ravens knew about it and discussed it at length. You now say this is the first you heard of it today??

Why would he need to lie about that? It doesn't benefit him in anyway to lie and say he didn't know until this am.

Bring Jacoby back is a good idea. If you bring back Jacoby it gives us another deep threat and will help special teams. Imagine having Jacoby, Givens, and hope Perriman returns that gives Joe three decent weapons and plus Aiken as well. Also I didn't mention Pitta if he returns will give Joe another weapon along with Gillmore. I like the idea of bring Jacoby back home.

If we do bring Jacoby somebody will probably get cut maybe Marlon Brown because he not do anything and he a huge disappointment thus far.

I could be wrong but I thought Morgan took that roster spot.

possibly. Maybe we would demote butler or something since he hasn't been active on game day yet. id like to see what he can do too though honestly.

If he does get signed (which I think unlikely), I will be glad to see his face back in here, he's a great person and entertainer. However, question is, can he get out of his funk? He hasn't been playing well this past year.

unlike the fans, who have noting better to do than sit around at their desk jobs and scour nfl insider sites and social media, John is busy doing things like conducting tryouts, overseeing practice, etc.

dude got cut yesterday afternoon, he heard this morning. makes perfect sense. especially since he's not a scout or a GM.

If Pitta or Perriman go on IR, we could put Jacoby on the roster (if he looks decent in a workout. May not know for a couple weeks on that though.)

If the Ravens brought Jacoby back, I would be elated.  Anything that would bring something positive to the fan base and energize them, would carry over the to players and that in no way is a negative in any sense. At this point in our season, with a lot of home games coming up, anything that energizes, pushes and motivates is welcome imho.  Harbs even spoke to that fact in a recent presser.

Jacoby would be an added option to stretch the field, and that would help the short passing game and the run game on the offensive side.

A returner is only as good as the unit blocking for him.  We have a pretty good special teams unit at this point, and I would love to see what Jacoby could do behind Mostert and a couple of others blocking for him. You best believe if Jacoby was back there on game days, teams would be game planning for him.

Can't resurrect the past. It was time to move on when we let him walk. No reason to second guess what has been proven to be a good decision.

Let's be honest here. JJ may not help this team much as he's may not even be the best returner on this squad. He's was a drop and fumble machine last year. But no one can deny that the Ravens would not have reached the super bowl or won without him. No one can deny that he took a pay cut to stay here and when we cut him he was full of praise towards this organization. No one can claim that Jacobs ever gave less than 100 percent effort. I would never object giving him another chance and maybe 5-10 plays a game. You never know, maybe he'll break a few big plays here and there to help this team. If no one else gives him a chance then we should!

It certainly wouldn't hurt to resign him. I don't think he had the same kind of players around him as when he was with the Ravens in SD. Give him a chance. Jacoby and Joe know each other and who is to say it couldn't rekindle some success for a few games. Come on Ravens give him a shot.

Hey, good news there's at least considering bringing Jacoby back. He's a veteran, and can catch in most amazing situations...ahhhem, Denver :D so he had some bad years no one will argue that, but maybe now he's play with added 'appreciation' to be back in Baltimore. Cause I doubt he had much fun in SD.

It makes sense that Harbaugh didn't find out himself, but I'm a little surprised that Ozzie or one of our scouts or somebody didn't contact him about it. I'm sure someone in our front office had to know. Maybe the fact that no one even mentioned it to the head coach means that they're simply not interested in bringing him back. If they do have interest, it does seem like Harbaugh found out about it pretty late.

Give Jacoby a shot at it. Pitta will probably retire next week. Perriman will remain out way past the bye. Jacoby's chances of going all the way or at least putting the offense in great field position are better than we winning the next eight in a row. For his game savers in the past, he deserves a try. If not, he gets his last cup of coffee in a Raven mug.
