Week 9 Discussion (Other Teams)

285 posts in this topic

Looks like this thread will be the place to be on Sunday with the Ravens enjoying their Bye week. The NFL Network takes over Thursday Night Football moving forward starting with tomorrow's Battle of Ohio Game. Pretty sure that the Bengals have lapped the entire division. Looks like the only good game of the week is the Packers visiting the Panthers for battle of NFC Supremacy. Seriously, who thought the Bears vs Chargers would make for a good MNF game?

Key Games:

Packers @ Panthers: Looking at the week nine slate this truly may be the only game that matters this week. With the Packers loss to Denver, the 7-0 Panthers have a chance to lock in the number one seed in the NFC with a victory. A loss to Rodgers and co would drop them to 7-1 and give The Pack the H2H tiebreaker in case both teams tied at the end of the year.

Rams @ Vikings: The Rams look like legit playoff contenders, and the 5-2 Vikings host the 4-3 Rams. The Vikings are the 6th seed currently but the Rams are right there and similar to the Panthers/Packers, a H2H tiebreaker will go to the winner of this game and could determine who gets one of the last two spots in the NFC Playoffs.

Raiders @ Steelers: Another potential wild card playoff determining game. The 4-3 Raiders travel to Pittsburgh to play the 4-4 Steelers who have lost their last two games. They no longer have Bell and Ben didn't play too well against the Bengals.

The NFC Least: Well that was fun while it lasted. SNF + NFC East go together like Milk & Cookies. Why they didn't flex this out in favor of Packers vs Panthers is beyond me. Cowboys can drop the Eagles to 3-5, a loss by the Redskins to the Patriots means they are 3-5 and if the Giants lose to the Bucs, they will be 4-5.

The AFC South: Colts and Texans are tied at 3-5. The Texans are on their Bye Week meaning they can win when the Broncos win. Texans will come out leading the division at 3-5 while I fully expect Pagano to be fired next week when the Colts are 3-6. The Jaguars caught a break with Fitzpatrick being injured for the Jets. A win over the Jets means the Texans & Jaguars being tied for first at 3-5.

Nothing jumps off the schedule this week as "must-watch" for me. Just Redzone and relaxation.

RedZone is where it's at.

Aside from the play of my fantasy players, the Panthers vs Packers game and Rams vs Vikings game are the main ones to watch. I actually think the Rams can do some damage in the playoffs if they get in, and this will go a long way to helping them attain that. And if the Panther's can knock off the Packers, they have a real shot of having homefield advantage in the playoffs, which could be huge for them.

The Steelers always struggled to beat the Raiders when they stunk. Probably means they crush them now that they are good.

So Johnny Football is starting tonight against the Bengals. Looks like the Bengals will be 8-0 at the end of tonight.

Hopefully the bengals don't bring their C game which is still enough to win. Embarrass Johnny and the Browns.

Was that supposed to be a Bengal growl over the speakers at the end of the anthem? Sounded like a toilet flushing.

This Cleveland defence is painful to watch, and their work on third downs is too much of a reminder of our own problems. Might switch to the Ole Miss - Missouri game after the next drive or two.

We've only got the SEC one being televised here. I'm keen to watch more Baylor though, I'm interested in a lot of their draft prospects.

absolute garbage taunting call

It's going to get to the point where the defensive player has to hug the person he just tackled and asks if he's ok.

The only thing on my mind during this game is that I really want whichever receiver the Bengals cut loose in free agency.
