[News] What You Missed vs. Chargers

15 posts in this topic

The officials may have blown at least 4 false start penalties on the Chargers in that game. Then you throw in the PI on Arrington. How can officiating be this bad when the sport generates so much money?

Seriously, did a whole slew of veteran refs retire after last year or something? Officiating has been absolutely horrible this year all over. The NFL needs to look at their officiating program, something is definitely wrong here.

Just what we needed to see, the refs turning a blind eye on the other team and making up calls on us. That Arrington call was right up there with the Urschell call from the week before. I am sorry but the NFL is looking more and more like a league where the refs are the worst refs in the world, or they are having someone whisper in their ear. I am not saying it is the NFL, or Las Vegas or who, and I am not a conspiracy theory type of guy, but even those calls in the Indy-Carolina game where you are left scratching your head. And then they botch the calls on replay when the play is obvious, like with Gillmore, you are just left wondering. Mark my words, like I said, I don't know if its the NFL, or Las Vegas or the mob or FanDuel or the refs or who, but someone is making money from the phantom ghost calls. In these days of ultra hi-def technology, you are just left scratching your heads that someone would even think that its not obvious that these calls are bogus. And forget challenging all calls, because then it would be even more obvious as they pretend they don't see things on the replay screen that everyone in their living room sees clearly.  Yeah, we can say the same refs who last  year did much better all of a sudden became the worst refs in the world.  And we can say that this is the worst year for messing up on replay calls, or we can believe there is something else going on.

The officials have been garbage all season long, but especially these last 2 games. They have been blatantly unfair to the Ravens these past 2 games. I don't think they're doing it on purpose, but the calls have been so one-sided. They aren't calling a lot of penalties on the other guys, and they're calling penalties that REALLY shouldn't be on us, plus stupid calls like the Chris Johnson run where they didn't whistle him down for forward progress, or the John Urschell eligible passer penalty. Just ridiculous how bad the refs have been screwing us over lately. Thankfully we got that pass interference call at the end of the game against the Chargers, though. That's how I know they aren't doing it on purpose to hose us, because if they were, they could have easily swallowed that flag. It's just a lot of bad luck going against us this year, with injuries, refs getting calls wrong, ball bouncing the wrong way (Gary Barnidge freaking butt catch), etc.

Although it has been verified that Asa was not offsides on the blocked kick, I still do not trust refs in future games to be paying attention to the snapper well enough to make sure Asa does not get a flag the next time. Hope every ref crew has someone assigned to watch the snap specifically and do not throw a bogus flag. Asa did an outstanding job 2 weeks in a row and he has been a real asset on special teams.

That was 1 seriously wayward snap from Urschel. lol. Thank goodness Joe was nervous and heads up enough to be half expecting a bad snap to recover the ball so quickly. Urschel is a versatile player and it was tough to get unexpectedly thrown in to the fray. A bit of practice during the bye week will hopefully help.

Watch the "no false start penalty" vine all the way through. You'll see a ref running up from the bottom left of the screen, which means the false start was RIGHT IN HIS FACE! If he's not seeing a penalty right in front of him, WTH was he looking at?

I remember all you fans were asking for Asa's head, but now he's the best player on the roster lol.....come on people, our secondary has wayyyyyy bigger issues than Asa Jackson. Appreciate his Special Teams efforts.

Yup, Absolutely.....  and he has truly made a difference on Special Teams.

I'm a softie when it comes to the underdog, and I'll be the first to give a guy a second chance to redeem himself.  Asa has done that.  More than one time too.

Way to go Asa!
