Ravens sign WR Joseph Morgan

tate maybe if he was the missing piece for us to win a SB this season.

others no way.

not even sure why the teams would trade them.

falcons and bengals are looking to be heading for the play offs.

why would they weaken their team.

why on earth would the bengals strengthen a division rival and weaken themselves.

also roddy looks to be heading to FA in the coming off season and same probably goes for sanu and jones.

who in their right mind would trade a 2nd rounder for a half year rental on a team thats has almost no chance to make the play offs.

I hate it when people say this. This wouldn't be a rental, we're looking towards the future as well. Steve Smith will be 37 years old next season if he even comes back and BP hasn't even seen the field yet.

what future?

can you at least explain what you mean instead of just saying things.

roddy is 34.

aint no future there worth a 2nd rounder.

marvin and sanu are FA after this season.

what future do you see here?

you think their agents are stupid?

they can make a lot more money testing FA, especially if they finish the season on the bengals and show their skills in the play offs.

we dont have the cap to franchise them and keep them around for 1 more season.

if you trade a 2nd rounder for them they are on a half year rental unless by some miracle they except a deal beneath what they could potentially make in FA.

I like the addition. Oz only has so many options available to him and Morgan has big play ability. I still think we need a true #1 WR for the future even if SSS comes back I know we need to be thinking of the future after his career is done for sure. All the WR on the roster have a chance to shine and play for a future roster spot.

I am all for Roddy and if we can get him without spending a draft pick that could be nice.

i think he might get cut after the season since he is due to a roster bonus of 1,5 mil.

right now im not sure why the falcons would trade him since they are fighting for the play offs and he provides solid veteran depth.

he is probably not cheap right now but  after the season he could be if they dont release him.

he would be 35 though and he is more of a finesse player rather then a physical guy like steve smith.

if would not mind him for the right price but id be furious if its a 2nd rounder.

I can agree with that. I do think he still has some football left in the tank.

We are still shopping at the dollar tree I see.  For the love of goodness please get this offense some play-makers.

I'm tired of hearing the excuses and complaints for this lackluster unit.

Welcome Morgan!

I'm glad you weren't -V Jack,  Roddy White or any other big name guy out there.  These guys are slow and injury prone.  We can do better by being patient.

No way we would give up a 2nd for him.  White is a guy i predicted we would go after in the offseason a couple months ago.  It doesnt really excite me honestly, i just dont see anything to his game.  Like you said, hes 35 so speed, which was never his strong suit, will be lacking.  Hes not a physical guy like SSR, like you said.  I just dont see anything to get excited about.  He reminds me of how some people talk about Rbs, he will take what you give him.

Ive been advocating for Vjax or Garcon for sometime now and it looks like others are on board with that from what ive noticed recently.  Morgan is just a half season signing to add something because of an injury, with the trade deadline passed looks like we will have to wait till the offseason to find our new WRs that will be worthy of a starting role

i prefer garcon but he might be out of price range.

id like roddy if he comes real cheap in the off season.

yup i dont know why people think roddy is worth a 2nd rounder and really dont know how he is the future being 35 next season lol

Well let's see.... Roddy White, Golden Tate, Mohamed Sanu, Marvin Jones, etc... I can go on and on. All better than the [ profanity deleted] we currently have at receiver.

That's assuming any of them were actually on the block and their prices were relatively fair. Plus out of them I think only Tate has a contract beyond this year, so throw a decent pick at a WR who's gonna maybe help you get to .500 and a worse draft pick?

Stupid.

GARCON is underrated, if he is released, ravens will pick him up quick.

A lot of teams will fight for him as well but he'd be perfect in this system.

The Ravens love patch work.

Wish Ozzie would decide this teams identity once and for all. It's evident that it's been defense since Ray retired and Ed left but a few bad drafts and bad free agent signings have put the defense in a bad spot. He's neglected to give Flacco a competent supporting cast since 2012 and for that reason is why we're left to signing Joe Morgan and Chuck Jacobs. Going into the 2015 season with a 36 year old SSS, a rookie WR with raw talent and a journeyman in Aiken wasn't the greatest idea.

The focus shouldn't just be on one side of the ball but both.  Nothing wrong with having an explosive and prolific offense along with a stout defense.

I hear ya, but I'm waiting patiently for both lol, especially the explosive and prolific offense. We've been spoiled for a long time with our stout defenses.
