He was actually pretty good in a the preseason game against us (against 3rd stringers, of course). I'm sure that's why the interest was there.

ill never understand why people use preseason as a legitimate source for a players ability.

One of the biggest reasons for preseason is for guys like Chuck Jacobs (who????) to show what they can do in game situations against actual competition rather than drills. Yes, that "competition" typically sucks, but the focal point is the individuals' efforts and what they show on the field. Think of it as more formal tryouts for unknown or unproven players...that's why many starting positions are won and lost in the preseason (example: Tyrod certainly wouldn't have been given the keys to Buffalo's offense without taking him out for a test drive in the preseason first)

yes, yes we all understand the useless preseason. but to use it as a source isnt credible.
