Could Ravens make a move for Calvin Johnson?

Yeah why not. I wouldn't mind trading a second round pick for Mega. Aiken is meh, while Perriman is starting to look like a bust

This is why fans aren't GMs.  No we shouldn't and no we don't have the cap to get him anyway.  We sure as hell shouldn't trade a 2nd a wr on the decline as well.

If you can find a way to squeeze his $12.5mil salary into our $1.5(?) mil salary cap this might be a conversation.

No. Captually speaking this would be dumb. Even if a declining megatron is still a top 15 option, he's declining. He's been overworked these past four years because the Lions have been riding their thoroughbread. We did the same with Rice.

I'd rather have Alshon or something along the lines of that long term.

Absolutely not.  It makes no sense.  Way too much money.  If we make a move, i see it being around vjax or roddy white.  I have been saying Garcon but hearing rumors as they want to release him after this year im sure they would keep garcon.

Are we going to make 30 different threads about what WRs we target....

Wait until the offseason. We'll be lucky if there's only 30 threads.

I agree about the level of veteran we end up with though (but if Sr comes back it wouldn't stun me if we stayed pat, disappointing as that would be), and the talk of Megatron (and iirc AJ Green came up during the previous offseason) is... optimistic, to put it nicely.

Even if SSR stays we should go after another weapon for Joe, even if its a vet.  SSR, Vjax, BP....that would be just fine by me, very wishful thinking.  If the FO confirms that SSR is returning and fails to address the WR position for the future, that would be just plain arragant.  It will put us in basically the same position as we came into this year: Drafting/aquiring someone and needing their production right away.  Better to have a replacement too early than too late imo

Ignore the fact the Ravens can't afford the 6.25M left on his contract (Ravens wouldn't take a 12.5M cap hit folks, Detroit has already paid half that salary).  The Lions have a 20.5M cap hit with him and a 20.9M cap hit if they cut or trade him.  Unless they just flat out hate him and want him gone, I doubt they'd cut or trade him this season for nothing.

Even on the off chance that the Lions decide to part ways with Johnson, teams that think they're one player away from winning it all will give everything up to and including the shirt off their back to bring him in. No way the Ravens win that bidding war.

Exactly! The Panthers definitely come to mind here. /thread

1/2 a season rentals don't make sense. They have enough on their plate without adding a lost pick and a hefty salary demand from a player whom undoubtedly would want one last big payday. This thread reads like a FUNNY PAPER's headline. (J.S.)

First Greg Little, then Calvin Johnson. I wonder what this next thread is gonna be

Julio Jones and Antonio Brown, right?

i believe Steve Smith just shut this thread down too lol. With him now coming back next season, I don't think we will trade for anyone.

I really like Alshon. He can win on every level of the field. He would be a great pickup. He makes grabs in traffic, he has some deep speed and if he does not separate deep well then that is when Alshon is at his best!! A younger faster more athletic Anquan Boldin at 6'3 219. Joe Cool would think he is living in alternate universe if he had a Receiver like Alshon to throw to Edited by Winchester

Realistically, I see a Josh Gordon thread in the offseason.
