Terrible.   With Stephen and Thompson having their lowest scoring nights together in the entire season and you still lose.. Not a good sign.   Don't get me wrong,  GS bench played amazingly,  but too many easy missed assignments and layups by the Cavs,  reminded me of OKC.

Kyrie was playing like Westbrook,  pretty wreck less and terrible shot selections.  LeBron became a little timid it seamed by not shooting enough,  they have to take game two... Or they are done imo

I guess they're done bro. Very hard to beat the Warriors on their home court

Playing against a team like the Warriors, you have to make every shot given to you: missing layups and short jumpers then trying to get back on defense is going to my life rough for them.

After watching the 1st game I think the Warriors will win. The bench won't always shoot like they did game 1 but neither will Curry and Klay.

100% agree although Livingston could do it again if he got the minutes. I'd try to get him, Steph and Klay all on the court at the same time. Nobody could stop Shaun last night.

Yea I was telling my brother Livingston's jump shot might be just as good as curry's 3... at least in game 1

The Warriors doing Warrior things - up by 27 early in the 4th. Geez they can score on you in a hurry. In game one it was the bench, and now Draymond Green is the chief destroyer with 28 points.

Don't sleep on Iguodala's work in shutting down LBJ as well. I saw in the first game he marked James for 22 plays, during which he went 1/2 for two points. I'm not sure what the stats are here but it looks like he's mostly been picking up where he left off.

I saw Jerry West's comments about LBJ this morning, waaay before the game and they were laughable. The self proclaimed "King" deserves all the criticism he can get and 1-8 Jerry is just salty from his old days. I'm loving every minute of these finals and I can't wait to die laughing when LeBron leaves again!

Well LBJ was a assist away from a triple-double, so I don't know how much of that is technically "shutting-down".  I think this just shows that Cleveland has failed again to give LBJ any form of a supporting cast.  Love and Irving disappear when it matters, instead of going after big names they should of added good role players.  Shouldn't of traded Wiggins imo, used the money they used for Love to get key additions.  They tried to replicate the Big 3 in Miami, but just because you have 3 stars, does not make them a Big 3, absolutely no chemistry.

To be clear, im not a fan of Lebron or Curry, im a fan of basketball.

I was really looking forward to some good games. Even less likely to happen now that Love is out.

I really hope Durant comes back to OKC and they add one or two or more smaller pieces. Only team that showed they can beat the Warriors in a 7 game series

I would bet a decent amount that he signs a 1 year deal, then after next year weigh his options.  He can make 50million more next year over what he would get now signing long-term

Significantly better shooting and it looks like Kyrie (from the box score) is playing halfway decent.

Yea he came out on fire and its about time, he took 25 shots through the game.  In all honesty though,  I don't think his iso kind of play works well with Lebron's style.  When you watch the Cavs play good, its because of how well they move the ball, they just finally got some shots to fall.  Lebron missed some shots he normally makes, all those minutes hes played is really taking a toll on him.

I see Lebron get killed in the media and by fans all the time, but I never see anyone speak negative towards Steph Curry, the guy is not playing terrible, but he definitely isn't playing up to an MVP standard.  This even goes back to last year, its odd, he wont be the MVP in the finals two years in a row.

To sum up last night:

Steph needs to hit the weight room this off season.

Kyrie is now being praised for what he always does.  It's funny cause now that he's hitting the shots there's no problem with his aggressiveness.

Unfortunately no sweep.

But that's just who he is, hes a iso type of player that's going to shoot 35-45% on average.  The thing that makes Kyrie an issue, is his defene.  I think I read a stat that players are shooting around 67% on him, that's insanely bad defense.

Cavs still got basically zero production from the bench.  15 pts....really....

The point about not moving the ball around really kills me more than anything. I was a hockey and lacrosse player and ball movement is how you created chances, so when I see the Cavs just take a rebound, run up, dribble for five seconds, then shoot, it absolutely kills me. The Warriors, on the other hand, move the ball really well, usually, and wait for their man to come free by pressing the paint, something the Cavs have done terribly at defending. It's a clear contrast between an efficient and inefficient offense.

And to your point about Steph, I don't even think he should have been MVP. His team is so deep and talented that they can carry him if he's not playing well. I won't argue he's playing really well, but when I watched the Warriors play (which wasn't a ton), Steph was doing really well because he was left wide open or had a ton of isolation match ups because you can't just leave Green, Barnes, Iggy, and Thompson open. That line up creates so much spacing it'd insane.

Now, I saw him play terribly several times (by media standards) and just not a peep because he's a media darling with his family. America loves him and his family, so he will never take heat.

The Cavs are trying so hard to replicate Miami with the big three that they're missing out on good depth and role players.

In Miami, they had guys like Ray Allen, Birdman, Shane Battier, Mike Miller, etc. In Cleveland, they've got Thompson and not much else I really like behind that big three.

The thing is, Cleveland could have just gone with Lebron and built a really strong overall roster and still made the finals because that's what Lebron does.

I absolutely agree that Steph shouldn't have been the MVP, that team is loaded, hell, the team set a 3point record in the playoffs without him.  Without Steph they are still a good team, he just adds that other missing element.  They will lose some depth after this year though, but their depth is really why they are so dangerous.

basically agree with all your points.
