[News] Notebook: Injury Updates, Ravens Looking To Add Wide Receiver

40 posts in this topic

The Denver Broncos just traded for Vernon Davis!!! Looks like we didn't need him! Peyton does I guess.

We have many holes on our current roster - TE doesn't seem to be one of them. Luckily Gillmore is doing fine, and Nick Boyle is better than expected at this point of his career. Not to mention Davis's cap hit and the three picks we would have had to give up for him.

If Ozzie is willing to part with any more of his picks, I would think it would be for a WR or someone for the secondary.

Bring up Dan Brown, and Butler from PS. Cut Marlon Butterfingers Brown. Activate Pitta, let him play... Throw him in the slot. It will be 3 weeks after the bye. Lets go.

SSS, Aiken, Ross and Givens all had a great game yesterday and performed well. Marlon Brown continues to under perform and provide no significant contributions. Can someone please tell me why he is still on the roster?

I dont even know if it is worth trading for a wr now. We dont have enough cap space and we have already traded for 2 or 3 guys this season already. We would have to trade for someone that is a #1 type guy. We already have a team full of #2 and #3 guys.

Neither you or others see what Marlon contributes on the field even clearly even missed his contribution on the long pass to Givens. There's a legit reason he been active each game. Yes the missed passes are mounting but yesterday's was broken up by the defensive player, not just dropped.

I want to see Marlon go long or post patterns stop and go's double moves because he is too tall for that small junk! Send him down field 15 plus yard plays! Joe throws very hard and alot of players couldn't catch them passes Houshmandzadeh, Bolden to name a few Pitta is the only one that can catch his bullets! And I feel Trestman needs to go upstairs to get a better feel for Joe because Joe use to avg 300 plus when he 1st got here and whom were the WRs then?! 300 plus is a "GUARANTEED" win! Keep slinging that Rock the run game will always be there but the WRs can't get into a groove running up the middle! Marlon is a double move type of WR and his size will get him the ball like when he won that game against the Vikings and he dragged that foot a mile in the snow to get us a win! If the WRs aren't beyond the LBers it's a waist of time ball can get tipped or dropped because of the velocity OPEN IT UP like Sunday and don't stop because in the playoffs it's nothing but gunslinger in those games and very few run plays! OK red me up or take jabs! Nine game win streak is up and goin! LETS GO!

a good veteran receiver is hard to find this time of the season. Question is do the Ravens want to trade for an established one like Eddie Royal of the Bears.

Aiken and Givens as starters. We are crying for Perriman and yet we have a speedster (Givens) who can not only stretch the field but knows how to play, but we seldom use him.

Ok I fully understand the need for a WR, but what is with some of yall infatuation with Daniel Brown? the kid is on the practice squad for a reason and a couple good plays against 2-3 stringers in the preseason doesnt scream #1 WR, smh

What is actually Marlon Brown doing? He has less than 120 yards for the year as a starter? Unless he steps up, he won't be a Raven next year. I cannot recall the last time he caught a pass.

I totally agree.

People are too quick to jump all over Marlon because of his other drops this season, but that play was just good defense.

Ozzie go out and blow the salery cap for a high price receiver just to shut all this crying for one. That way he can sit on the bench and watch the defese give up 300 yards.

Daniel Brown went after the ball an not wait for the ball come to him. I seen aggressive attitude. Steve Largent was only 5'9 190 pounds so it's not the size of the dog in the fight but the fight in the dog!

I want to know what it is... This select Minority is seeing in Marlon Brown?? I mean the rest of us in Ravens Nation are definitely not drinking or smoking whatever substance it is that makes the minority so idiotic.

Priority no.1 for WR...catch the ball, every time. As often as possible.

Priority no.2 for WR... Create Separation, get open, etc

Marlon Brown does nothing well at the WR position. And the excuse well he doesnt get chances doesnt work. If you dont catch it the one or two times your thrown too...you dont get more opportunity.

The difference between Aiken and Brown is Aiken for the most part has vice grip hands and catches everything. Joe or anyQB for that matter will pass to that guy before the guy with butterfingers.

Marlon is cut material. Bring up Butler, and Dan Brown. Why Dan Brown?? Because you dont know what you got until he gets a chance. You do know what Marlon Briwn is after 3 years. Hes a 4th WR at best.

Activate Pitta too, throw him in the slot. It'll be 3 weeks after the bye week. Lets go

3Rd year Brown is second in touchdowns, won the Viking game in the last seconds, throws great blocks, and according pff only credited with 3 drops on a team thats 30th in dropped passes but let's give Joe two guys that have not caught one pass. The grass is never greener on the other side.

Davis may have been an option during the off season or maybe pre-draft so we would have taken a CB or FS with our 2nd rounder. Your right I totally agree that its not a need anymore, Gilmore and the boys are balling and i love what they are doing. I just wanted to ask what 3 picks were you talking about. From what i read, his cap his is around 2 mil and the 49ers gave up a 7th and Davis for the Broncos 6th. basically nothing as the broncos will finish near the end and the 49ers will finish as one of the top picks lol.

We traded for one guy not 3. The rest were picked up off practice squads and the street ;)

We need a WR because of a few reasons. Aiken and Brown have proven that they are not starting caliber at this point in their careers. That leaves this team with 3 below average starters (Aiken, Givens, Brown) that make plays here and there but cant be depended on for a whole season. The running game will suffer as we will face more and more stacked boxes and eventually Flacco will get killed standing back there trying to buy time.

You know what happens if one of those guys gets hurt? Flacco is screwed! We need a Vet WR now! If nothing else, Its the only way we can really evaluate how good or bad of a season this was for Trestman as a coordinator. Best case scenario, this Vet WR can play this year and then eventually lose his place to Perriman whenever hes up to speed and SSS if he comes back.

Don't worry about losing draft picks. We have drafted 28 guys in 3 years and are projected to have 12 next year. We literally don't have enough roster spots to fit 12 rookies without cutting ties with people we drafted recently. I say go for it Ozzie give up a mid to late round pick or two for a Starting Caliber WR

Vernon Davis was traded from the 49er's to the Denver Bronco's!!!!  The 016 and 017  6th round picks were the offers.  Eliminate one option.

I'm pickin up what your laying down.   Priority 3:  Can he Block?  Priority 4: After an intercept, can he tackle?
